P rod uct B u eti nN For Distribution To e International Distributors e International Management e U S Field Sales amp Clinical Specialists e U S Technical amp Field Service Date November 2 2015 RE SCOPE BUDDY Endoscope Flushing Aid Daily Quality Assurance This bulletin provides alternative instructions for decontamination using chlorine tablets in markets where these products are available The Daily Decontamination Procedure must be performed at the start of the day before use on any endoscopes Refer to User Manual for more detailed instructions To ensure correct SCOPE BUDDY Endoscope Flushing Aid operation the Quality Assurance Flow Validation Test must be performed prior to the first use of the day Contact your local Medivators Customer Support for further assistance Prior to First Use of the Day Perform Daily Decontamination Procedure by 1 Locate Fluid Intake Line and place filter screen in decontamination solution in jug Milton Peracetic Acid Chlorine Tablets Use concentration as per manufacturers guidelines 2 Locate open end of outflow tubing and place in the decontamination solution which has been made up in an empty jug container Milton Peracetic Acid Chlorine Tablets Using the front panel arrow keys set the timer for 30 seconds Press Start Stop button to begin fluid flow Prime the tubing until a steady column of decontamination solution exits the outflow tubing Press Start S2. rea to allow any fluid to drain out of the tubes 14 Document Daily Decontamination Procedure on SCOPE BUDDY Daily Quality Assurance Log Perform the Flow Validation Test by 1 2 O o N S amp S g Q Connect Fluid Intake Line to IN port and place filter screen in clean water Connect Universal Cleaning Adapter Extension Line to OUT port and Flow Verification Tube to remaining luer lock end Using the front panel arrow keys set the timer for 30 seconds Prime the tubing by pressing the Start Stop button which initiates water flow When a steady column of water exits the Flow Verification Tube press Start Stop to halt flow Place open end of pre primed Flow Verification Tube into empty graduated cylinder Using the front panel arrow keys set the timer for ten 10 seconds Press Start Stop button to begin fluid flow into graduated cylinder Upon time out the display flashes zeros and an audible tone is heard 10 Remove Flow Verification Tube from graduated cylinder and read dispensed volume a If volume is gt 100ml s mark Pass on SCOPE BUDDY Daily Quality Assurance Log SCOPE BUDDY passes the test and is ready for use b If volume is lt 100ml s mark Fail on SCOPE BUDDY Daily Quality Assurance Log Do NOT use SCOPE BUDDY and report failure to Medivators Customer Support If you have any questions related to this bulletin please contact your local Medi
