4. ch your network for the print server and display it in the window If no print server is found please make sure any third party firewalls such as Norton Internet Security McAfee Personal Firewall or ZoneAlarm have been disabled or bypassed and click the Search button to try again IOGEAR MFP Utility Software Configuration 4 If your printer software has already been installed skip ahead to step 7 Otherwise once the print server has been found close the window with the X button in the top right corner NOT the one labeled Exit to hide the Utility for now Software Configuration 5 Install the software that came with your printer When the drivers for the printer have finished installing OR the software asks you to plug in the printer using a USB cable you are ready to connect the device MP Drivers Setup InstallShield Wizard Complete The InstallShield Wizard has successfully installed MP drivers Click Finish to exit the wizard Software Configuration 6 You should see a small USB icon like this in the tray in the lower right corner of your screen Double click on the icon to open the Utility window again Remote USB Utility 12 34 PM Software Configuration 7 Click the plus in front of the print server name to show the name of the attached printer Then select the printer name and click the Connect button in the Utility IOGEAR MFP Utility Software Configuration 8 The p
5. eb interface System Requirements This USB print server supports e Windows 2000 XP e Printer with USB connection Introduction IOGEAR s palm sized USB Multi Function Print Server allows any networked computer to share a USB Multi Function Printer MFP This multi function server goes a step beyond ordinary print servers by allowing multiple network users to Print Scan and Fax using the same Multi Function Printer This elimi nates the need to purchase multiple expensive MFPs as all you need to share the printer is a connection to the print server s network port It complies with USB 1 1 specifications and provides users with an auto sensing 10 100Base T port The print server will even automatically identify your printer make model upon connection The built in web management feature provides more convenience by allowing the user to configure monitor and even reset the print server via a web browser Hardware Setup Hardware Setup Plug the included power adapter into the print server and a power outlet near the multifunction printer Plug the network port of the print server into a network switch or available LAN port on a router using standard Ethernet patch cable Plug the USB cable from your multifunction printer into the USB port on the print server and make sure the printer is powered on 2 lt gt 3 lt Software Installation Software Installation repeat on each networked computer 1 Ins
6. ent settings wil je erased ea Web Administration Upgrading the firmware In some cases a firmware upgrade may be necessary to get the full functionality of your MFP device especially if you have a brand new model If you are experiencing any compatibility issues please check the Support section of the IOGEAR website at http www iogear com for firmware upgrade files Download the latest version to your computer and make sure that you unzip it if necessary The file name should end in BIN when you are done Then click the Misc button in the Web Admin tool Click Firmware Upgrade and you should see the following page QIOGEAF MFP Server Soe Misc Factory Default Firmware Upgrade This page allows you to upgrade the firmware of the MFP server firmware Upgrade Select Firmware Directory and File Brome firmware upgrade Web Administration Click the Browse button and you will be asked to locate the firmware upgrade file you just downloaded Select it and click Open Web Administration You will see the location you selected in the box next to the Browse button Click the button at the bottom labeled Firmware Upgrade to load the new firmware onto the server QIOGEAF MFP Server Technical Support If you need technical support please check out our IOGEAR Tech Info Library T I L at www iogear com support for the latest tips tricks and troubleshooting The IOGE
7. er model is very new Simply select the server from the MFP Utility and click the Web Admin button Internet Explorer will launch and connect to the built in web interface on your print server IOGEAR MFP Utility a cent Gf omet Gy toes e na Exit com 1P_MFPServer250ACA Web Administration Changing the print server name The default name may not be convenient if you have multiple print servers If you would like to change the print server s name to something more meaningful such as Front Office or Accounting Scanner you can do so with the Web Admin tool First click the Setup button then make sure the System tab is selected QgGcEeEAr MFP Server m ee This setup page allows you to configure general system settings of the MFP server System Settings Administrator s Password Password Re type Password Here you can type in whatever name you like for the print server click Save amp Restart and future searches with the MFP Utility will identify the server with its new name Web Administration Protecting the Admin tool with a password If you would like to prevent unauthorized access to the Admin tool you can establish a password from the same System tab of the Setup section shown above Type in your password twice to confirm it then click Save amp Restart When the server reboots and for all future access to the Admin tool you will be prompted for a us

9. ert the Setup CD into your computer 2 Click the Installation button on the window that opens IOGEAR Multi Function Print Serve Welcome to Software Installation 3 Choose a language to use for installation and click OK Choose Setup Language EN Select the language for this installation from the choices below Software Installation 4 Click Next at the first screen of the setup wizard Welcome to IOGEAR MFP Utility Setup This program will install IOGEAR MFP Utility on your computer Ibis strongly recommended that you exit all Windows programs before running this Setup program Software Installation 5 Choose a folder to install the print server software or just click Next Choose Destination Location Select folder where Setup will install files Setup will install IOGEAR MFP Utility in the Following folder To install to this folder click Next To install to a different folder click Browse and select another folder Destination Folder cree Files IOGEAR MIOGEAR MFP Utility Browse InstallShield Cancel Software Installation 6 Choose a folder in the start menu to launch the software from or just click Next Select Program Folder Please select a program folder Software Installation 7 On Windows XP a window may come up warning you that this software has not been tested by Microsoft and certified by their Windows Logo program If so simp
10. ly click Continue Anyway to continue with installation Software Installation The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows SP Tell me why this testing is important Continuing your installation of this software may impair or destabilize the correct operation of your system either immediately or in the future Microsoft strongly recommends that you stop this installation now and contact the software vendor for software that has passed Windows Logo testing Continue Anyway Software Installation 8 When the installation is complete click OK Driver Installer Software Installation 9 If you would like the print server software to run automatically when starting your computer recom mended leave the box checked and click Finish Setup Complete Setup has finished installing IOGEAR MFP Utility on your computer Launch IOGEAR MFP Utility when windows starts Click Finish to complete Setup Software Installation On Windows XP systems the Found New Hardware wizard may pop up during installation You will need to do the following to complete the driver installation 1 If asked if Windows can connect to the internet to search for software click the No not this time option and then click Next Found New Hardware Wizard Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard Windows will search for current and updated software by looking o
