MA0708 EA CASIO Operation Guide 3097 About This Manual e Depending on the model of your watch display text appears either as dark figures on a light background or light figures on a dark background All sample displays in this manual are shown using dark figures on a light background e Button operations are indicated using the letters shown in the illustration e Each section of this manual provides you with the information you need to perform operations in each mode Further details and technical information can be found in the Reference section General Guide e Press to change from mode to mode e In any mode press 8 to illuminate the display for about one second Timekeeping Mode Countdown Timer Mode Timekeeping Use the Timekeeping Mode to set and view the current PM indicator time and date While Active Display is turned on the watch Hour Minutes maintains a count that is incremented each time you angle it towards your face for viewing or when you otherwise move your arm The watch changes the Timekeeping Mode current time display to one of six different styles automatically in accordance with the value of the count e Regardless of whether Active Display is turned on or off tilting the watch towards your face for viewing will cause the display figures change size rotate or otherwise change dynamically for approximately one second The way the display figures changes depends on the current
4. arm tone whenever an alarm time is reached or when a countdown reaches zero This helps to alert you even in areas where surrounding noise is too loud to hear the alarm tone e You can stop the Flash Alert operation and the alarm tone by pressing any button e Note that Flash Alert is always enabled You cannot turn it off e The LEDs also flash for one second whenever the timekeeping display style is changed by Active Display To test the LEDs In the Timekeeping Mode hold down for about three seconds This will cause the two LEDs to flash for about 10 seconds Button Operation Tone The button operation tone will sound any time you press one of the watch s buttons You can turn the button operation tone on or off as desired e The daily alarm and countdown alarm tones continue to sound even if you turn off the button operation tone To turn the button operation tone on and off In any mode except when a setting screen is on the display hold down to toggle the button operation tone on mute indicator not displayed and off mute indicator displayed e Holding down to turn the button operation tone on or off also causes the watch s current mode to change e The mute indicator is displayed in all modes when the button operation tone is turned off Mute indicator Illumination This watch has an EL electro luminescent panel that causes the entire display to glow for easy reading in the dark In any mode except wh
5. en the setting screen is on the display press to turn on illumination for about one second e About one second after it lights the EL backlight will flash for about a half second After that the LEDs will flash for about a half second Operation Guide 3097 CASIO Illumination Precautions The electro luminescent panel that provides illumination loses power after very long use e Illumination may be hard to see when viewed under direct sunlight e The watch may emit an audible sound whenever the display is illuminated This is due to vibration of the EL panel used for illumination and does not indicate malfunction e Illumination turns off automatically whenever an alarm sounds e Frequent use of illumination runs down the battery Auto Return Feature e If you leave the watch in the Alarm Mode for two or three minutes without performing any operation it will change to the Timekeeping Mode automatically e If you leave a screen with flashing digits on the display for two or three minutes without performing any operation the watch will exit the setting screen automatically Scrolling The and buttons are used in various modes and setting screens to scroll through data on the display In most cases holding down these buttons during a scroll operation will scroll at high speed
