4. ast 1 metre away from other electrical appliances to avoid interference and help maximise the handset range Setting up 1 Plug the power adaptor and telephone cable ielephone 2 Asins power into the underside of the base Only use the line cord adaptor cables provided with the product 2 Plug the the other end of the power adaptor into the wall socket and switch the power on The green Power indicator on the base will light up 3 Insert the 2 x AAA rechargeable batteries supplied into the handset taking note of the and markings inside the battery compartment then slide the battery compartment shut 4 Place the handset on the base to charge Charge the handset for at least 24 hours before first use 5 Once the handset is fully charged the display will show the full battery icon Haab You can now plug the telephone line cord into the telephone wall socket Set up your additional handsets 2 3 and 4 Pack owners only 1 For each additional handset plug the power adaptor into the back of the charger and plug the other end into the mains wall socket and switch the power on 2 Insert the batteries into the handset as detailed in point 3 above and place the handset on the charger Charge the handset for at least 24 hours before first use Additional handsets supplied as part of a multipack are pre registered to the base so once charged are ready for use Each handset will display its handset number 1 2 3

6. er phonebook an answering machine and a calls list Phonebook You can store up to 50 names and numbers in the phonebook to make dialling quick and easy You can also assign different ringtones to particular numbers eg family or work numbers Add a new phonebook entry 1 Press scroll GJ to PHONE BOOK and press gp 2 The display shows ADD ENTRY Press gip 3 The display shows NAME P Using the letters on the keypad enter the name then press You may need to press the same button a few times until the letter you want is displayed For example press 2 once for f or twice for B If you make a mistake press 4 The display shows NUMBER 7 Use the keypad to enter the full phone number and press 6 5 The display shows AELODY 7 press A or FH to select the ringtone you want and press return to standby Dial a phonebook entry 1 Press J Entries are displayed alphabetically 2 Press A or B to scroll through the phonebook or search alphabetically by entering the first letter of the name using the keypad Press GW to dial the selected number Pa Answering machine After following the Getting started section your BT Studio 3500 answering machine will be set to Answer amp Record and is ready to start receiving messages Press Eika to switch the answering machine on and off You can select one of the pre recorded outgoing messages Answer amp Record or Answer Only or you can record your own personalised ou

10. tgoing message Press eu to hear your current outgoing message You can also record memo messages for other users screen calls and you can operate the answering machine remotely For detailed instructions of all the answering machine features see the online user guide at www bt com help userguides Listening to your messages memos When you have messages recorded on your answering machine the messages light e9 on the base will flash At the base press to hear any new messages or press and hold to hear all messages The oldest message is played first During playback press CES EE to adjust the loudspeaker volume to pause resume playback The base will beep when paused once to repeat the current message twice to play the previous message to skip to the next message GB to mark the message for deletion you will hear Message deleted to stop playback At the end of playback you will hear End of messages To delete all messages press delete You then have 8 seconds in which you can press GB to delete all messages or to cancel message deletion and restore any messages you have marked for deletion Any messages not deleted are saved You can also operate the answering machine features using the handset menu see Section 2 or the online user guide for more details Caller Display and the calls list You must subscribe to a Caller Display service for this feature to work Your network provider may charge you
