1. Start the workout Press the Start button or the Speed increase button to start the workout A moment after you press the button the treadmill will automatically adjust to the first speed and incline settings of the workout Hold the handrails and begin walking Each workout is divided into one minute segments One speed setting and one incline setting are programmed for each segment Note The same speed setting and or incline setting may be pro grammed for consecutive segments During the workout the profile will show your progress The flashing seg ment of the profile represents the current segment of the work out The height of the flashing segment indicates the speed setting for the current segment At the end of each segment a Current Segment 20 series of tones will sound and the next segment of the profile will begin to flash If a new speed and or incline setting is programmed for the next segment the new speed and or incline setting will appear in the displays for a few seconds and the treadmill will automatically adjust to the new speed and or incline setting The workout will continue in this way until the last segment of the profile flashes in the display and the last segment ends The walking belt will then slow to a stop Note The calorie goal is an estimate of the number of calories that you will burn during the workout The actual number of calories that you burn will depend on various factor

4. 1 10 11 It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions Before beginning any exercise program consult your physician This is especially important for persons over age 35 or persons with pre existing health problems Use the treadmill only as described in this manual The treadmill is intended for home use only Do not use the treadmill in any commercial rental or institutional setting Keep the treadmill indoors away from mois ture and dust Do not put the treadmill in a garage or covered patio or near water Place the treadmill on a level surface with at least 8 ft 2 4 m of clearance behind it and 2 ft 0 6 m on each side Do not place the treadmill on any surface that blocks air openings To protect the floor or carpet from damage place a mat under the treadmill Do not operate the treadmill where aerosol products are used or where oxygen is being administered Keep children under age 12 and pets away from the treadmill at all times The treadmill should be used only by per sons weighing 300 Ibs 136 kg or less Never allow more than one person on the treadmill at a time Wear appropriate exercise clothes while using the treadmill Do not wear loose clothes that could become caught in the treadmill Athletic support clothes are recom mended for both men and women Always wear athletic shoes Never us

CORD Using the hex key turn both idler roller screws counterclockwise 1 4 of a turn When the walking belt is properly tightened you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in 5 to 7 cm off the walking platform Be careful to keep the walking belt centered Then plug in the power cord insert the key and run the treadmill for a few minutes Repeat until the walk ing belt is properly tightened Idler Roller Screws Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high performance lubricant IMPORTANT Never apply silicone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform unless instructed to do so by an authorized service representative Such substances may deterio rate the walking belt and cause excessive wear If you suspect that the walking belt needs more lubricant see the front cover of this manual If the walking belt still slows when walked on see the front cover of this manual SYMPTOM The walking belt is off center IMPORTANT The walking belt should be centered between the foot rails If the walking belt rubs against the foot rails the walking belt may become damaged a First remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD If the walking belt has shifted to the left use the hex key to turn the left idler roller screw clockwise 1 2 of a turn if the walking belt has shifted to the right turn the left idler roller screw counterclockwise 1 2 of a turn Be careful not to

Shoulder Bolt 62 and a 5 16 Nut 63 Lower the Frame 56 see HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE on page 23 17 Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill If there are sheets of plastic on the treadmill decals remove the plastic To protect the floor or carpet place a mat under the treadmill To avoid damage to the console keep the treadmill out of direct sunlight Keep the included hex key in a secure place the hex key is used to adjust the walking belt see pages 25 and 26 Note Extra hardware may be included 15 HOW TO USE THE TREADMILL HOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER CORD This product must be earthed If it should malfunc tion or break down earthing provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock This product s power cord has an equipment earthing conductor and an earthing plug IMPORTANT If the power cord is damaged it must be replaced with a manufacturer recommended power cord A DANGER Improper connection of the equipment earthing conductor can result in an increased risk of electric shock Check with a qualified electrician or serviceman if you are in doubt as to whether the product is properly earthed Do not modify the plug provided with the product if it will not fit the outlet have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician 16 Follow the steps below to plug in the power cord 1 Plug the indicated end
8. cardiovascular system exercising at the proper inten sity is the key to achieving results You can use your heart rate as a guide to find the proper intensity level The chart below shows recommended heart rates for fat burning and aerobic exercise 165 155 145 145 138 130 125 120 115 140 130 125 115 Y 125 118 110 103 Y 110 105 95 90 vw 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 To find the proper intensity level find your age at the bottom of the chart ages are rounded off to the near est ten years The three numbers listed above your age define your training zone The lowest number is the heart rate for fat burning the middle number is the heart rate for maximum fat burning and the highest number is the heart rate for aerobic exercise 27 Burning Fat To burn fat effectively you must exer cise at a low intensity level for a sustained period of time During the first few minutes of exercise your body uses carbohydrate calories for energy Only after the first few minutes of exercise does your body begin to use stored fat calories for energy If your goal is to burn fat adjust the intensity of your exercise until your heart rate is near the lowest number in your training zone For maximum fat burning exercise with your heart rate near the middle number in your training zone Aerobic Exercise If your goal is to strengthen your cardiovascular system you must perform aerobic exercise which is activity that requires large

10. in the calorie display will flash each time your heart beats one or two dashes will appear and then your heart rate will be shown For the most accurate heart rate read ing continue to hold the contacts for about 15 seconds When you are finished exercising remove the key from the console Step onto the foot rails press the Stop button and adjust the incline of the treadmill to zero The incline must be at zero or you may damage the treadmill when you fold it to the storage posi tion Next remove the key from the console and put it in a secure place When you are finished using the treadmill press the power switch into the off position and unplug the power cord IMPORTANT If you do not do this the treadmill s electrical components may wear prematurely HOW TO USE AN ONBOARD WORKOUT 1 Insert the key into the console See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 18 Select an onboard workout To select an onboard workout press the Calorie button the Intensity button the Speed button or the Incline button repeatedly until the desired work out appears in the display When you select an onboard workout the maxi mum speed setting and the maximum incline set ting of the workout will flash in the display for a few seconds and a profile of the speed settings of the workout will scroll across the display If you select a Calorie workout the approximate number of calo ries you will burn will also appear in the display

12. overtighten the walking belt Then plug in the power cord insert the key and run the treadmill for a few minutes Repeat until the walking belt is centered Foot Rails SYMPTOM The walking belt slips when walked on a First remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER 26 CORD Using the hex key turn both idler roller screws clockwise 1 4 of a turn When the walk ing belt is correctly tightened you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in 5 to 7 cm off the walking platform Be careful to keep the walking belt centered Then plug in the power cord insert the key and carefully walk on the tread mill for a few minutes Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened EXERCISE GUIDELINES A WARNING Before beginning this or any exercise program consult your physi cian This is especially important for persons over age 35 or persons with pre existing health problems The heart rate monitor is not a medical device Various factors may affect the accuracy of heart rate readings The heart rate monitor is intended only as an exercise aid in determin ing heart rate trends in general These guidelines will help you to plan your exercise program For detailed exercise information obtain a reputable book or consult your physician Remember proper nutrition and adequate rest are essential for successful results EXERCISE INTENSITY Whether your goal is to burn fat or to strengthen your
13. the treadmill unattended while it is running Always remove the key press the power switch into the off position see the drawing on page 5 for the location of the power switch and unplug the power cord when the treadmill is not in use 21 22 23 24 25 Do not attempt to move the treadmill until it is properly assembled See ASSEMBLY on page 7 and HOW TO FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL on page 23 You must be able to safely lift 45 Ibs 20 kg to move the treadmill When folding or moving the treadmill make sure that the storage latch is holding the frame securely in the storage position Do not change the incline of the treadmill by placing objects under the treadmill Never insert any object into any opening on the treadmill Inspect and properly tighten all parts of the treadmill regularly 26 27 DANGER Always unplug the power cord immediately after use before clean ing the treadmill and before performing the maintenance and adjustment procedures described in this manual Never remove the motor hood unless instructed to do so by an authorized service representative Servicing other than the procedures in this manual should be performed by an authorized ser vice representative only Over exercising may result in serious injury or death If you feel faint or if you experience pain while exercising stop immediately and cool down SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU BEGIN Thank you

16. 4 See the inset drawing Tie the wire tie in the Right Upright 90 securely around the end of the Upright Wire 81 Then insert the Upright Wire into the lower end of the Right Upright as you pull the other end of the wire tie out of the Right Upright 3 Lay the Right Upright 90 near the Base 94 Press the Grommet 77 into the square hole in the Right Upright Make sure not to pinch the ground wire Then attach the ground wire to the Right Upright 90 with a 8 x 1 2 Silver Screw 10 Wire Square Md Hole 4 Hold the Right Upright 90 against the Base 94 Be careful not to pinch the wires Partially tighten three 3 8 x 4 Screws 7 with three 3 8 Star Washers 13 into the Right Upright and the Base Do not fully tighten the Screws yet Attach the Left Upright not shown in the same way Note There are no wires on the left side 5 Identify the Left and Right Base Covers 82 83 Slide the Left and Right Base Covers onto the Left and Right Uprights 89 90 as shown Do not press the Base Covers into place yet 6 T Identify the Right Handrail 84 Attach the Right Handrail 84 to the Right Upright 90 with two 5 16 x 2 1 4 Screws 28 and two 5 16 Star Washers 11 Make sure not to pinch the Upright Wire 81 Start both Screws and then tighten them Attach the Left Handrail not shown to the Left Upright not shown in the same way Note There are no wires on the left sid

Then insert the key into the con sole After a moment the displays will light IMPORTANT In an emergency the key can be pulled from the con sole causing the walking belt to slow to a stop Test the clip by carefully taking a few steps back ward if the key is not pulled from the console adjust the position of the clip F Clip IMPORTANT Before you use the treadmill take the following steps to ensure that the the console shows the correct incline level of the treadmill First press the incline increase button once Next press either the incline decrease button or the low est Quick Incline button to set the treadmill to its lowest setting When the frame stops moving the treadmill is ready for use 18 HOW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE 1 Insert the key into the console See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER at the left Select the manual mode When the key is inserted the manual mode will be selected If you have selected a workout press the Manual button on the console Start the walking belt To start the walking belt press the Start button the Speed increase button or one of the Quick Speed buttons numbered 2 through 18 If you press the Start button or the Speed increase button the walking belt will begin to move at 2 Km H As you exercise change the speed of the walking belt as desired by pressing the Speed in crease and decrease buttons Each time you press one of the buttons the speed setting wil

19. amounts of oxygen for prolonged periods of time For aerobic exercise adjust the intensity of your exercise until your heart rate is near the highest number in your training zone WORKOUT GUIDELINES Warming Up Start with 5 to 10 minutes of stretch ing and light exercise A warm up increases your body temperature heart rate and circulation in preparation for exercise Training Zone Exercise Exercise for 20 to 30 min utes with your heart rate in your training zone During the first few weeks of your exercise program do not keep your heart rate in your training zone for longer than 20 minutes Breathe regularly and deeply as you exercise never hold your breath Cooling Down Finish with 5 to 10 minutes of stretch ing Stretching increases the flexibility of your muscles and helps to prevent post exercise problems EXERCISE FREQUENCY To maintain or improve your condition complete three workouts each week with at least one day of rest between workouts After a few months of regular exer cise you may complete up to five workouts each week if desired Remember the key to success is to make exercise a regular and enjoyable part of your everyday life SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right Move slowly as you stretch never bounce 1 Toe Touch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips Allow your back and shoulders to relax as
20. atch locks in the storage position CAUTION Make sure that the storage latch locks Pull back on the handrail until the treadmill will roll on the wheels and carefully move it to the desired location CAUTION Do not move the tread mill without tipping it back do not pull on the frame and do not move the treadmill over an uneven surface 3 Place one foot against a wheel and carefully lower the treadmill HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1 Press on the upper end of the treadmill frame with your hands press the storage latch with your foot in the loca tion shown and EI M then allow the M frame to lower to the floor To protect the floor or carpet place a mat under the treadmill Keep the treadmill out of direct sunlight Do not leave the treadmill in the storage position in temperatures above 85 F 30 C 23 MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING MAINTENANCE Regularly clean the treadmill and keep the walking belt clean and dry First press the power switch into the off position and unplug the power cord Wipe exterior parts of the treadmill with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap IMPORTANT Do not spray liquids directly onto the treadmill To avoid damage to the console keep liquids away from the console Then thoroughly dry the treadmill with a soft towel TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by follow ing the simple steps below Find the symptom that applies a
