FRONT VIEW SIDE VIEW Figure 3 2 Metasys Interface Board Location in 7 5 10 HP Drives 12 Remove the Keypad Support Bracket from the Drive Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Step 6 Step 7 Step 8 Disconnect lock out and tag all incoming power to the drive Wait five 5 minutes for the DC bus capacitors to discharge Loosen the four 4 captive screws at the corners of the drive cover and remove the cover Using a voltmeter verify that there is no voltage at the drive s AC input power terminals Check the DC bus potential terminals with a voltmeter to ensure that the DC bus capacitors are discharged Note the cable connections to the Regulator board terminal strip If any of the leads will have to be disconnected in order to remove the keypad support bracket and the connections are not documented do So now Remove the three 3 M4 x 10 screws that fasten the bottom of the support bracket to the drive s heat sink Use a magnetic screwdriver to retain the screws and keep them from falling inside the drive NOTE The bracket is connected to the drive by wiring Do not attempt to lift the bracket out completely as this may damage or pull out wiring Disconnect the 26 conductor Regulator board ribbon cable from the Current Feedback board located on the right side below the keypad The connector is held in place by retaining clips Spread these clips to r
2. 3 17 Figute 3 7 Example N2 B s Layout reet pte o ree petat od Per ege tu 3 19 List of Tables Table 3 1 Locating the Appropriate Installation Procedure pp 3 1 Table Where To Find More Information on Specific Objects RN A 1 1 0 Introduction This manual describes the Horner Electric Metasys Interface module M N 2MT3000 which implements the Johnson Controls Metasys N2 protocol The interface module is designed to allow VTAC 7 and GV3000 drives to be operated and monitored via the Metasys network The Metasys Interface mounts below the Regulator board on the VTAC 7 and GV3000 drives and connects to the Regulator via a flexible ribbon cable Power for the Metasys Interface comes from the drive through the Regulator The drive is configured by using the keypad or the CS3000 software The Metasys network can then operate and monitor the drive More Information Before attempting to install and use the Metasys Interface make sure you have read and understood the VTAC 7 or GV3000 instruction manual and any pertinent documentation for the Metasys N2 network from Johnson Controls This instruction manual does not explain drive operation or Metasys network installation and programming Basic Installation and Operation Steps This section describes how to install and operate the Metasys Interface Chapter 3 in this instruction manual describes installing the module in more detail This manual assumes that the Metasys

4. flathead screws Step 5 Note the cable connections to the Regulator board terminal strip If any of the leads will have to be disconnected in order to remove the keypad support bracket and the connections are not documented do 50 now Step 6 Remove the anodized inner cover by removing the two 2 roundhead screws Set the screws aside for later use Step 7 Remove the drive s side panel by removing the six 6 retaining screws Set the screws aside for later use CAUTION The Metasys Interface board contains components that are static sensitive An anti static wrist band should be worn by any person who touches the board s components connectors or leads Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the Metasys Interface board Step 8 Disconnect the 26 conductor Regulator board ribbon cable from the Power Supply board The connector is held in place by retaining clips Spread these clips to release the connector Step 9 Remove the keypad support bracket assembly comprising the Regulator board and option board if present and keypad display by removing the four 4 M4 screws Two of the screws are at the right inside of the drive and will require a screwdriver with a magnetic tip to avoid dropping the fasteners inside the drive Set the screws aside for later use Install the Metasys Interface Board in the Keypad Support Bracket Step 10 Wearing an anti static wristband install the Metasys Interface boa

16. alue written in step 3 Another synchronization method is to verify that the output data from the drive matches the input data written to the drive data written to the drive can be fed back to the master This may be the best alternative if full connection synchronization is required 4 7 Parameter Processing Error Flag A parameter processing error status flag is provided to allow the network master to determine whether any parameter values are unacceptable to the drive If this flag 15 set 1 then one or more parameters sent to the drive were rejected If this flag is not set 0 then all parameters sent to the drive were accepted Note that the Tune Config inputs enable bit must be set 1 before the drive can read in and consequently process any tune config parameters The parameter processing error flag is updated approximately every 150 msec 4 8 Data Retention Timing Requirements tunable and configurable drive input values must be maintained by the network master s application program for at least 150 msec to assure that they are seen by the drive This is particularly relevant for data which is transition detected by the drive Control Reference data types generally do not have this 150 msec requirement since they are scanned read in by the drive every 5 msec Special cases to this rule are the Start input and the Error Log Clear command input The Start input requires a 0 to 1 transition in order to start the drive Th
17. ce board s connector and press the ribbon cable connector in until it locks into place Route the 26 conductor ribbon cable out of the side of the keypad support bracket and align the Metasys Interface board on the four mounting tabs Ensure that the ribbon cable is not pinched between the bracket and the Metasys Interface board Fasten the Metasys Interface board to the support bracket using four metal M3 screws and lock washers for proper grounding Align the 26 conductor ribbon cable connector with the Power Supply board connector inside the slot in the bottom support bracket Then carefully press the ribbon cable connector in until the retaining clips lock it into place Reinstall the Support Bracket in the Drive Step 9 Step 10 Step 11 Step 12 Reconnect the keypad support bracket to the bottom bracket by inserting the mounting tabs into the slots in the bottom bracket and tightening the thumbscrew Route the network cable through the left most opening at the bottom of the drive Reconnect any leads that may have been removed from the Regulator board terminal strip Reinstall the cover Align all cover screws into the heat sink before tightening any of them For NEMA 4X 12 covers refer to section 8 2 in 3360 for GV3000 drives or section 7 2 in D 3372 for VTAC 7 drives Configure the Drive Step 13 Set the network communication drive parameters as described in chapter 1 3 3 Installing the Metasys Interface Board in 60

19. e Start input from the network may be delayed by the drive for up to 100 msec This is done to synchronize a drive start to the processing of new configurable data In order for the network master to assure this O to 1 transition is detected by the drive the 3l network master must maintain both the 0 and 1 states for at least 100 msec Values which are maintained for less time may not be detected by the drive The Error Log Clear command bit is processed at least every 150 msec even though it is defined in the Control Reference data section A 0 to 1 transition must be detected by the drive after the network is active and the control source has been selected to be the option port for the error log to be cleared In order for the network master to assure this 0 to 1 transition is detected by the drive it must maintain both the 0 and 1 states for at least 150 msec 4 9 Drive Ready Status Bit The Drive Ready status bit is used to indicate that a 0 to 1 transition on the start input will start the drive The Drive Ready bit will be ON 1 when all of the following conditions are met and OFF 0 when one or more are not met No drive faults are active Stop input is ON 1 Front panel STOP RESET button is not pressed Function loss TB input is closed A download from the serial port using the CS3000 is not in progress On larger drives 250 HP which contain a DC bus pre charge resistor bypass relay the pre charge relay must be closed 3

41. tic wrist band should be worn by any person who touches the board s components connectors or leads Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the Metasys Interface board Step 9 Wearing an anti static wristband install the Metasys Interface board as follows Align the key on the Regulator board s 34 conductor ribbon cable connector with the slot in the Metasys Interface board s connector and press the ribbon cable connector in until it locks into place Step 10 Align the Metasys Interface board on the four mounting tabs on the support bracket Ensure that the ribbon cable is not pinched between the support bracket and the Metasys Interface board Fasten the Metasys Interface board to the bracket using four metal M3 screws and lock washers for proper grounding Reinstall the Support Bracket in the Drive Step 11 Remount the keypad support bracket to the hinged mounting panel using the four 4 screws removed in step 8 For 100 to 150 HP drives continue to step 12 For 60 to 100 HP drives proceed to step 14 Step 12 Step 13 Step 14 Step 15 16 Step 17 100 to 150 HP drives only Remove the tie that was fastened to the Power Module Interface board in step 7 Align the Power Module Interface board on the eight plastic standoffs on the back of the hinged mounting panel and carefully press it into place Check to make sure that good contact has been made with the two grounding standoff
