3. 39 Terminal Test Card TTC become faulty often in SBM Speech quality and chattering noise on all the subscriber of a TU when copy 0 is active It happens due to non release of TA relay in LCC card First identify the Terminal Unit and then particular LCC card by removing the TA cables Now replace that LCC card or Jackout and Jack in of the same card may also help Site specific H W related the possible faults may be SPC card Particular terminal card Mother Board of TU 34 C DOT DSS FAMILY PROBLEMS REPORTED DURING C DOT WORKSHOPS SL NO 49 PROBLEMS Sometimes one TUI card works in a particular frame and does not work in other frame MU in BM literature is not clear even during failure the diagnostic shows OK In case of power supply failure or flicks i e when F R is switched on PSU 2 cards of CM goes faulty and critical alarm is observed When we are putting one copy of TIC TI12 1 inservice chattering starts We changed all three cards TUI SPC amp TIC but same result comes We removed all line cards in that frame and then put that TIC copy inservice but no change One way speech trouble If we give dgn swu for TIC it give ok report But we will get one way speech trouble in some slots of same TU If we change TUI or TIC or SPC the problem will be solved In such cases why dgn is not failing Individually SS 0 SS 1 IFCs and CMSs diagnosed okay But in one plane

BM 4 do following during night hours L Force FC2 OOS BM 3 becomes critical and does not recover of its own then fault is in BUS 1 Switch off COPY 1 PSU in TSU of BM 3 Replace TSC TSS cards one by one amp switch on PSU Reset all controller cards in COPY 1 of TSU Data Loading should start Mark the removed cards as faulty 2 If data loading does not begin after replacing TSS TSC cards then fault may be in IFC 18 Force IFC2 INS BM 3 will recover Force IFC 18 OOS and replace with good card after verifying jumper setting Bring it INS ACT Again force IFC 2 OOS BM should remain stable In this case mark removed IFC18 SSM card as Faulty 3 In case BM 3 again becomes critical after replacing IFC 18 card also when IFC 2 is OOS then fault is with CMS 2 Replace MSD MSC cards in CMS 2 BM 3 should recover after data loading 4 In case loading is still not starting then it is possible that clock is not getting through First interchange SS plane If still loading not possible replace clock cable data cable of BUS 1 between TSC 1 amp IFC18 BM should recover 5 In case BM3 amp BM 4 remain stable after forcing out IFC2 then repeat the exercise by forcing OOS IFC 18 BMs should remain stable However if one of the BM becomes CRITICAL and does not recover then start diagnostics for BUS 0 fault as explained in step 1 to 4 above In this case cards involved will be TSC 0 TSS 0 IFC2 CMS 1 98 C DOT DSS FAMIL

C DOT WORKSHOPS SL NO 10 11 12 13 14 15 PROBLEMS Why disk space goes below minimum space What precautions to be taken to avoid this When free space becomes 0 the console will not accept any command and we have to reboot the system In u the free blocks become 0 sometimes After rebooting the blocks are raising This problem is not there after formatting Winchester 0 in IOP 1 If it occurs again which are the blocks to be deleted in which directory and in which files In 1 2GB also only 720 MB is going to be utilised why In on line mode Shell command given Core dump takes place Frequent display as medium error on drive 4 slice 0 was shown in the console Again when rebooted drive 4 was not shown Hard disk from one spare IOP was changed Within 2 days the same problem repeated and original hard disk was changed The declared faulty hard disk was found to be ok at another site All occurred within 10 days IOP is going to disbl upd opr or disbl upd All at times Morning alarm failing frequently and only restoring after deleting and recreating If the operator terminals main RSU are connected on IOP frequently the IOP starts hanging This problem is being solved by bringing the IOP to warm start level from power off state and then synchronising with the active IOP If another RSUs are added IOP hanging problem appears again After changing the status of
