F oy i Vault2Cloud Setup Guide Da _ Drame N p h z Oo 7 gt e Unitrends Rapid Recovery Integrated Simple Elegant 7 Technology Circle Suite 100 Columbia SC 29203 United States Phone US 866 359 5411 E Mail Sales Unitrends com URL Backup Vaulting Cloud Integrated Simple Elegant Welcome to Unitrends Program for the Vault2Cloud solution designed to accommodate our customers who would like disaster recovery but do not want to own and operate dedicated off premise vaulting appliance Getting Started There are a few things to consider while planning your use of Vault2Cloud 1 Identify the clients that you wish to vault When you have determined which clients you wish to vault you must configure them for vaulting via the DPU s User Interface by selecting Configure gt Clients then select the appropriate client and enable the Sync to Vault checkbox 2 Verify that your schedules are set up such that backups will complete in a timely manner and vaulting will occur during non peak hours You will want to make sure that the backups you intend to vault have completed before vaulting begins 3 DPU appliances that are vaulting must have unique host names Hostnames should be created using the following scheme i Up to 14 characters for the company name ii 16 characters for the asset tag located on the front of the DPU Host name changes must be made in the RRC Please reference the2. Appliance User Manual for specific instructions 4 If using a pre 4 2 1 version of the appliance software ensure that your appliance has been licensed for vaulting To view your current license from the User Interface select Configure7 gt License f the feature string does not include DPL select the Request icon and enter Vaulting license needed in the Request text field Setting Up Vaulting Follow this one simple step to configure your DPU appliance for vaulting 1 Contact Unitrends Support to continue the setup process Indicate the steps that you have accomplished and your service provider will provide you with the additional requirements for completing the setup When setup has been completed please reference the Appliance User s Manual for any additional configuration changes that may be required for your environment Monitoring When vaulting has been successfully configured you can monitor vaulting transactions from the DPU appliance using the following features e Reporting Use the tab labled Reports on the RRC to view the status of vaulted backups The two reports available for monitoring vaulted data are In Flight Duplication and Vaulting Report e Email Daily emails of the vaulting status are sent to the addresses assigned in the Configure gt Notifications section User Interface e Vaulting Dashboard The Vaulting Dashboard is a feature of the User Interface that provides a 24 hour view of vaulting process
