EXAMVIEW ASSESSMENT SUITE FSCreations Inc 35 v 5 2 0a Create an Assignment Before you can score a test you must first build it using ExamView Test Generator and then create an assignment in ExamView Test Manager When you create the assignment the ExamView Test Manager automatically opens the test file and reads the following information for each question if available answer reference learning objective local standard state standard national standard and points To build a test and create an assignment 1 Start ExamView Test Generator build atest and save it Automated scoring methods such as scanning or response device transmission only work with objective questions such as multiple choice and true false If your test includes open ended questions such as short answer or essay you must manually score those questions and record the points If your test Includes objective and open ended questions place the objective questions e g Note If you plan to administer multiple scrambled versions of a test create one version print it and then save the file Scramble the test to create the next version print it and save the test For each unique test multiple choice at you must create a separate assignment the beginning of the test 2 Start ExamView Test Manager and choose to open a Class 3 Click A from the toolbar choose Create New Assignment from the Assignment menu or click the Ne

3. 1 Start ExamView Test Manager to open an existing class Ga Export Class Roster as Text Student Name Format a Field separator Commi wt 2 From the File menu choose Last name first name Expo rt then Class Roster as Full name C insert quotes around fields Text Student ID V Password 3 Select the desired export options C Student alias then click the OK button Format roster for use with ExamView Learning and Test Center website 4 Name the text file and select the OK save location EXAMVIEW ASSESSMENT SUITE FSCreations Inc 34 v 5 2 0a Export Roster for TurningPoint Test Manager allows you to quickly export your class roster for use as a participant list in a TurningPoint session Student last names first names device IDs and student IDs are exported to the TurningPoint participant format To export a class roster for TurningPoint 1 Open an existing class in ExamView Test Manage 2 From the File menu choose Export then Class Roster for TurningPoint 3 Name the text file and select the save location e The roster exports student last names student first names student IDs and device IDs as a TurningPoint participant file tpp Note If you plan to use response devices you will need to use the third custom field of the Student Information to assign the device IDs This custom field installs with a default label of Device ID but may be renamed in the Preferences

Inc 16 Color images and photos can use a lot of memory that in turn increase the size of the test or question bank file For example a single color photo can be 1 2 MB For paper tests the size of an image is not that critical However the image size does affect online tests Imagine students downloading a test via the Internet that includes three or four photos If you use color images use the lowest possible resolution If you plan to include an image in a question you should check the image for readability Can you read the information on your screen and on paper If you create your own art use a larger font for text that appears as part of an image For best results and smaller file sizes use black and white or 256 color images Other Issues v 5 2 0a You can edit a question and double click an image to see how much space it requires You can also reduce the color setting of the image If you create your own questions or edit existing questions consider these additional guidelines When you create your own questions Do not write questions that refer to another question or depend on a particular question order Remember that you can scramble questions on a test And if you randomly choose questions you may not get all of the questions you need Use tables not tabs if you need to create tabular material Tables work much better especially for online tests Use standard fonts e g Times New Roman Ar
