7. t measurement accuracy The ideal measurement distance to the object is between 10cm to 40cm Refer to table 1 for the recommended tape size and measuring distance Table 1 Tape size Measuring HxL distance cm cm If multiple markers have been used then enter the number of markers into the RT80 see section 3 9 The RT80 will flash HOLD on the LCD Press and hold qa to commence measurement HOLD will no longer be displayed Hold the RT80 perpendicular within 30 to the reflective tape or reflective surface as shown in figure 1 Aim the RT80 so the light pattern from the LED is positioned on the reflective tape as shown in figure 2 for measuring distances greater than 30cm To stop the measurement process release the A button and the RT80 will hold the last measured value on the display and flash HOLD again While in Measurement mode all measured values are recorded at a rate of once per second for use by the Hold mode see section 3 9 Successive presses of the moe button will display the following in sequence MAX maximum recorded reading MIN minimum recorded reading MAX MIN difference between max and min recorded readings AVG average of the recorded readings NO and the current setting for the number of markers Press A to increment the digit from 1 to 9 as required After 9 the digit will step back to 1 The unit will return to the Measurement mode at the end of the above sequence To clear
