ATE Allied Telesyn International EPROM Upgrade Kit for CentreCOM AT 6870 and AT 6875 Bridges User Manual PN 613 10406 00 Rev A 950922 Bridge EPROM Upgrade Kit Allied Telesyn AT 6870 6875 bridges come with management software loaded in two E rasable Programmable Read Only Memory E PROM devices The E PROMs provide transparent learning functionality as well as Simple Network Management Protocol SNMP Management I nformation Base MIB 1 parameters and supplemental MI B variables for bridges per the nternet Advisory Board I AB Bridge MIB Y ou can upgrade individual bridges by replacing the EPROMs in their sockets on the logic board This EPROM upgrade kit adds the I nternet Protocol I P inquiry capability BOOTP F or information about the operation of the bridge refer to the AT 6870 6875 CentrecOM MAC Layer Bridge nstallation and User Manual Installing the EPROM Upgrade Kit Caution As nstallation should be performed with precautions to prevent damage to static sensitive components 1 Make sure the power to the bridge is OFF 2 Remove the two screws on each side of the bridge that hold the top cover in place 3 Remove the top cover The cover fits tightly and it may be necessary to use a screwdriver to initially dislodge it 4 Orient the unit with the front towards you The power supply should be on the left and the port L E Ds should be on the right See F igure 1 O
