UltraCast will automatically cast using argon pressure When the cast is complete the platform will lower and the investment can be removed B4 2 CONTROLS AND DISPLAY READOUT B4 2 1 MAIN OPERATION 1 The Casting cycle step by step Close the chamber door if it is open Turn the POWER ON using the circuit breakers and main POWER ON switch On the display you read Initializing After 5sec for initialization Enterprise Ultra Cast Rev 2 1 During this time the internal control runs the platform down Normally the platform is in lower position after the last previous operation cycle so it just remains there This action is necessary to guarantee the platform lower position e g after gas pressure failure It is recommended to turn on UltraCast D by closed chamber door to avoid eventual platform movement Version 1 1 25 www ultraflexpower com UltraFlex UltraCast D 769 100 00 After the initialization the unit is ready for use and on display you read flashing both windows Load Crucible Press Melt MELT XX X PSI Recommend 8 10 PSI Open the door Place the loaded with raw metal investment ring on the Base positioner Close the door and press the MELT button On the display you read Raising Platform After 2 sec for raising Platform is raised successfully And 2 X X to Melt Vacuum xxx mbar The time period of 5 sec elapses here for vacuum and inert gas environment prepar
6. algorithms to control the Argon Vacuum Melt and Cast pressures Prior to heating the microprocessor cycles low pressure argon and vacuum several times to ensure there is no oxygen present during casting This ensures no oxidation After the metal is melted the casting process uses high pressure argon to further reduce oxidation The Motor and Melt pressures are factory set The Cast pressure can be adjusted via the front panel to provide perfect casts for all types of metals All gas pressures are monitored by the sophisticated electronic controls Version 1 1 17 www ultraflexpower com UltraFlex UltraCast D MEM OUPT 769 100 00 B2 PREPARATION FOR USE FOR STANDARD DENTAL ALLOYS B2 1 SPRUING Spruing for the UltraCast is no different than spruing for all other casting systems with one exception All sprues must be attached to a Pentaform wax sprue button B2 1 1 Pentaform Press the Pentaform down into a rubber base as far as it will go The Pentaform will not go all the way down There must be a minimum of 1 8 3 2 mm gap between the bottom of the Pentaform wax sprue button and the top of the rubber sprue base DO NOT add wax between the Pentaform and the rubber base B 2 1 2 Rubber Base Place a Pentaform on the rubber sprue base first and then attach your waxup with the sprue s to the Pentaform B2 1 3 Spruing Tips Use hollow sprues whenever possible This will decrease the possibility of damaging the investment du

8. is full B2 2 10 Curing Allow investment to sit for 60 minutes before removing the investment from the rubber sprue base B2 2 11 Removing ring After the investment is thoroughly set remove the rubber sprue base and the stiffing ring and save for reuse Carefully cut off and discard the plastic ring B2 3 BURNOUT The burnout process for UltraCast D is no different than any other casting system A two stage burn out is recommended for all rings to be cast in UltraCast D Place the investment ring upside down in the furnace and follow the investment manufacturer s burnout recommendations The following guide is a recommendation start in a cold furnace increase heat at 72F min 0 332C min to 6002F 3152C Version 1 1 20 www ultraflexpower com UltraFlex UltraCast D POWER DOS OUPT 769 100 00 hold at 6000F 3159C for 30 minutes increase heat at 202F min 119C min to 1600VF 8709C hold at 16002F 8702C for 1 hour plus 10 additional minutes for each additional ring up to a maximum or 1 7 hours Burn Out Temperature Timing Chart T5min 105 155 215min if your burnout furnace does not regulate ramp times Then heat as slow as possible to 6000F and increase the hold time to 60 minutes the minimum final soak is 60 minutes for all alloys Additional soak time varies according to size and number of rings in the burnout furnace if rings are kept overnight be sure the

14. ation After 5 sec Increasing Pressure Time Left sec After 2 sec the internal control turns on the heating MELTING X X PSI CAST when Ready Monitor the metal heating through the viewing window A protective lens is provided to safely view the molten metal When the metal liquefies it is ready to cast Press the CAST button CASTING XX Pressure PSI UltraCast D turns the heating off and will automatically cast using argon pressure When the cast is complete the platform will lower and the investment can be removed Lowering Platform Caution Hot Crucible Version 1 1 26 www ultraflexpower com U 1 Flex UltraCast D recte ct OUPT 769 100 00 After 2 sec for platform lowering Cast Complete Caution Hot Crucible Open the door and remove the investment 2 Safety and door Interlock All actions described above in point 1 except placement and removing of the investment are possible only by closed chamber door Any try to use the equipment by open door leads to termination of the current step process and an alarm message ALARM Chamber Door Open The red alarm light turns on and the button STOP lights in red NOTE By termination of the process the platform runs down to the lower position During its movement the STOP button and the alarm light are turned ON You can release the alarm condition by pressing the button STOP after the platform is down Keep your hands away from the movin

16. he operator e Device has to be seated on a mechanically secure surface A2 4 COOLING REQUIREMENTS The power transistors and rectifiers into the device are maintained within their safe operating temperature range by means of water cooling The fan inlets must be kept clean from obstructions in order to insure proper air circulation If installed in confined spaces care must be taken that the ambient temperature the temperature of the space immediately surrounding the device does not rise above the limit specified as 40 C Periodic cleaning of the device exterior is recommended The following system components are directly dependent on water cooling semiconductor s heat sinks coils tank capacitors output transformers To maintain the temperature on these components within safe limits the following requirements apply to the inlet cooling water Maximum allowable temperature 95 F 35 C Minimum allowable temperature 58 F 14 C to avoid condensation e Minimum water flow is required Refer to product specifications in Section B e Water coolant must be mechanically debris free e Water coolant must be chemically pure distilled water is recommended A2 4 1 COOLING WATER FILLING UltraCast D is delivered with empty cooling water tank It must be filled before operating Those are the steps that should be followed when filling the water tank of the Unit 1 Remove the top cover using the manufacturer provided tool t

19. is too soft and will not hold up under pressure Insert Pentaform Pentaform Wax into base Sprue Button Rubber Sprue Base B2 2 3 Plastic Ring Be sure plastic rings are pressed down fully into grove in the rubber sprue base Keep the inside of sprue formers clean to permit proper sealing of the ring and a smooth surface on the investment B2 2 4 Ring Height Investment should be gt 4 6 35mm above the wax pattern B2 2 5 Stiffening Ring Place the Stiffening Ring prior to pouring or immediately after pouring the investment B2 2 6 Clean Mixing Bowl Be sure the mixing bowl is clean prior to mixing the investment Any trace of plaster or die stone in your investment will destroy its strength It is best to use separate mixing bowls for each type of investment used B2 2 7 Evacuate Evacuate all air using a bell jar vacuum or equivalent prior to pouring B2 2 8 Pour Level Pour your investment into the ring on a FLAT and LEVEL surface This will insure both ends are reasonably parallel Version 1 1 18 www ultraflexpower com UltraCast D 769 100 00 2 2 9 Careful near Pentaform Pour the investment slowly into the ring until the level is between the bottom of the Pentaform wax sprue button and the top of the rubber sprue base Place the ring on a vibrator Insure the investment flows between the pins of the Pentaform Continue pouring until the ring
20. ith all applicable codes concerning conductor ratings and wiring procedures An electrician familiar with the local regulations should determine proper wiring connections A2 7 START UP 1 Turn the Circuit breakers ON move up They are placed on the back side of the unit Turn the ON OFF switch to power the system 3 Check for any Fault or Alarm messages If the status screen shows Load Crucible Press Melt message then the system is ready for operation Version 1 1 12 www ultraflexpower com U ltr aFlex UltraCast D PAR Iro OUPT 769 100 00 A3 MAINTENANCE A3 1 SCHEDULING UltraCast D is designed for continuous service and minimum maintenance requirements The frequency of any maintenance program is a function of environment degree of equipment use and product experience A3 2 PERSONNEL Qualified personnel must perform inspection and maintenance procedures only Personnel must read and be thoroughly familiar with all safety precautions discussed in this manual A3 3 INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE Note Always follow approved lock out tag out procedures before performing any service inspection or maintenance The following describes inspection procedures to be performed on a daily weekly and monthly basis Daily Weekly Inspection It is good practice to do a quick visual inspection of the unit wiring and connections on a daily and or weekly basis Report any apparent changes in performance to respo
