6. match your workflow for Shooting This will determine how other parameters are calculated on the device Typically this is S0fps for North America and 2ofps for European Countries Shutter signal This is the time that the Genie sends a signal to tne camera to tell it to take a photo Defualt setting is 200Ms Auto Focus The time in which the Genie instructs the camera to Auto Focus for The defualt setting is Or oad factory defaults Reset the settings back to fac tory parameters All presets ana other user settings will be lost Exit To exit the settings menu just press back all changes will be saved 110 Updating firmware Firmware on the device is user upaateable latest firmware releases can be found at Www Syrp conz support Warning when you instal new firmware you will lose all custom presets Download the firmware update from the support page at www Syrp co nz Copy the downloaded file to a formated USB Key Sule Insert the USB Key Stick into the Genie Press and hold the back button then tun the Genie on by pressing the OK button Release both buttons once the Genie display starts flashing The Genie will read the data on the USB Key Stick and Update the firmware to the version at tached When the update is complete the Genie will restart Note USB Hard drives or devices that draw high cur rent cannot be used to update the firmware Use a USB stick ke

11. direction Press the left or right keys to adjust the value and press the Ok button to change tne dirrection Preview This runs the Genie at the video playback speed based on the settings you have chosen You can use this to preview how your movement will look in your compiled video Note If the real time play speed of your setting is faster than the maximum drive speed of ten Genie the preivew function will be greyed out Save as new pre set If you want to keep your setup and use it agalin on other shoots you can save it This will ada a new pre set to the timelapse menu LO Once you have been through these settings you can hit start and your timelapse will begin Advanced settings In the advanced settings you can adjust the move shoot delay This is the time that the Genie will wait after it has finished moving before it sends the signal for your camera to take a photo If you have a heavy setup or and unstable rig then increasing this will give your camera time to seatle before it takes each shot 9 0 Timelapse with video camera when using a video camera with the Genie there is no link bewteen the Genie and the camera so you will need to set up the timelapse functions on your video camera using the instructions provided by the manu facturer Once you have setup the video camera to recodrd a timelapse you should enter the video mode on the Genie Select video from the main menu Select New recorcing
12. e panning accessory in place and the Genie turned on enter the timelapse mode by pressing ok on the timelaspe menu term Press OK again to enter the New recording menu In here you will be able to adjust all of the various set tiings required to capture a timesioase using either the traditional method via setting the intervals or the real time method using the compliled video play time Rec time This is the total time the the Genie will run for durring the timelapse Set this to a time that suits the scene you are shooting Play time This is the time that you would like your final video to play for after you have compiled all of the images The Genie will use this setting and the frame rate you set to determine the total number of shots it needs to take and how long between each of them By adjust ing this value the interval between the shots will also Sense interval The interval is the time between each of the shots that Genle tells your camera to capture The interval will be calculated from the Rec time and the Play time but if you have a perticular interval you like to shoot with you can adjust this and the play time will update tel richie gt Note If you are shooting long exposures make sure that the interval is long enough to allow the camera to finish capturing the image as well as process the ata Mieo elaalcialt This sets the angle in panningo or distance in linear as well as the

21. nie is in place you should check that the bubble level on the top of the Genie is showing the air bubble is in the centre of the ring This will ensure that your shots will rotate perfectly flat To attach your camera to the top of the Genie you can elther use a tripod head or a ball head Screw this down securely tothe top of the Genle Now attached your camera to the top of the Tripod head Ball head Using a Syrp Link cable matened to your camera model connect the 25mm end to the camera port on the Gene and the other end to the remote input on your camera Taking your first timelapse The following will guide you thorugh how to setup the Genie to take a timelapse recording using a compat ble DSLR camera Hola down the OK button to turn on the Genie Press OK to enter the Timelpase mode Here you will be presented with 4 options New Recording Couds People Stars We recomend that if you are new to Timelapse that vou choose one of the 3 presets For this example we will use Clouds Using the keypay scroll down to clouds and press OK Before pressing start be sure to set your camera up ana take some test photos to get the exposure and framing correct To ensure that your all of the images that are capture are consistant you should use the Manual setting on the camera Now that the camera is setup you can press start The clouds preset will run for 30 minutes taking a photo and moving very
