4. 2A 21 8 in 554 mm I 2 5 in 64 mm Page 6 of 20 COLORband PiX Mini User Manual Rev 5 3 SETUP AC Power The COLORband PiX Mini has an auto ranging power supply and can work with an input voltage range of 100 240 VAC 50 60 Hz To determine the product s power requirements circuit breaker power outlet and wiring use the current value listed on the label affixed to the product s back panel or refer to the product s specifications chart The listed current rating indicates the product s average current draw under normal conditions Always connect the product to a protected circuit circuit breaker or fuse Make sure the product has an appropriate electrical ground to avoid the risk of electrocution or fire Never connect the product to a rheostat variable resistor or dimmer circuit even if the rheostat or dimmer channel serves only as a 0 to 100 switch Fuse Follow the instructions below to change the fuse if necessary Replacement N Disconnect the product from the power outlet before replacing the fuse 1 Wedge the tip of a flat head screwdriver into the slot of the fuse holder 2 Prythe fuse holder out of the housing 3 Remove the blown fuse from the holder and replace with a fuse of the exact same type and rating 4 Insert the fuse holder back in place and reconnect power Installed fuse held by plastic clip pa cap Spare fuse holder inside safety

6. cap 3 The product does not ship with a spare fuse however the safety cap has room 4 fora spare COLORband PiX Mini User Manual Rev 5 Page 7 of 20 Power Linking The product provides power linking via the IEC outlet located in the back of the unit Power Linking Diagram Other products You can power link up to 20 COLORband PiX Mini units on 120 VAC or up to 35 COLORband PiX Mini units on 230 VAC The power linking diagram shown above corresponds to the North American version of the product ONLY If using the product in other markets you must consult with the local CHAUVET distributor because power linking connectors and requirements may differ in your country or region Page 8 of 20 COLORband PiX Mini User Manual Rev 5 Mou nting Before mounting the product read and follow the safety recommendations indicated in the Safety Notes Orientation The COLORband PiX Mini may be mounted in any position however make sure adequate ventilation is provided around the product Rigging Before deciding on a location for the product always make sure there is easy access to the product for maintenance and programming purposes Make sure that the structure or surface onto which you are mounting the product can support the product s weight Please see the Technical Specifications for weight information When mounting the product overhead always use a safety cable Mount th

9. appear similar to this o o oo ol A La Advanced Assembly Options The CBB 6 is fully stackable Use the included screws to attach another CBB 6 to the top of the bracket for additional rows of lights Do NOT connect more than two CBB 6 brackets vertically for a maximum of 12 strip lights you are mounting the product on can support the total weight When rigging the product onto truss you should use a mounting clamp with the appropriate weight capacity The CBB 6 bracket has multiple 13 mm holes which are appropriate for this purpose Before mounting the CBB 6 onto any structure ensure that the structure onto which 4 CHAUVET recommends the CLP 15 heavy duty clamp sold separately Page 10 of 20 COLORband PiX Mini User Manual Rev 5 4 OPERATION Control Panel To access the control panel functions use the four buttons located underneath the Operation P Button Function lt MENU gt de to find an operation mode or to back out of the current menu lt UP gt Press to scroll up the list of options or to find a higher value lt DOWN gt Press to scroll down the list of options or to find a lower value lt ENTER gt Press to activate a menu option or a selected value Menu Map Mode Programming Steps Description C1 Red C2 Green C3 Blue Stati
10. ate in either Automatic or Sound mode 2 Make the master unit the first unit in the DMX daisy chain Advanced Master Slave options for using the COLORband PiX as master unit with the COLORband PiX Mini When a COLORband PiX is the master unit and COLORband PiX Minis are slave units the submenu A1 A126 found under SLA in the master unit will select how many slave units are attached to it Selecting A A1 or A A2 on the COLORband PiX Minis will tell the master unit which side of the strip the Minis are on The combination of number and direction settings allows lots of variation including allowing 2 COLORband PiX Minis to appear as one single strip the same size as the master COLORband PiX for uninterrupted chases Advanced Master Slave options for using the COLORband PiX Mini as master unit with the COLORband PiX When a COLORband PiX Mini is the master unit and COLORband PiX serves as a slave selecting A A1 or A A2 on the COLORband PiX Minis will command the COLORband PiX to either light LED for LED with the Mini meaning half of the COLORband PiXTM or to light up entirely at the same speed Configure all the slave units before connecting the master unit to the DMX daisy chain Never connect a DMX controller to a DMX string configured for Master Slave operation because the controller may interfere with the signals from the master unit Do not connect more than 31 slave units to the master unit
