21. code The anti theft code electronically prevents unauthorized usage in another vehicle if the unit is removed After switching the unit on a keypad appears with the instruction to enter the code You must enter the correct four digit code number to unlock the unit The number of attempts remaining is displayed in the second line of the screen Touch a number from 0 to 9 in the number block directly on the screen The number is entered in the input line After entering a four digit sequence of numbers the number block turns gray inactive and you cannot enter any more numbers in the input line Touch on the screen to erase the numbers in the input line from right to left so you can correct your input if necessary Touch if the input line contains the correct code number Code number The code number can only be requested online through the Volkswagen System to provide greater protection against theft Contact your authorized Volkswagen dealer if necessary Incorrect code number If you accidentally enter an incorrect code number when unlocking the unit the entire process can be repeated one time The number of attempts remaining is displayed in the second line of the screen If you enter an incorrect code number again the device will be locked for approximately one hour That means it cannot be used display System is locked Please wait minutes The unit must remain switched on Th

24. e display will disappear when an hour has passed The electronic lock can then be deactivated as previously described www car solutions com The cycle of two attempts and the one hour lock will continue Note You do not need to deactivate the anti theft code manually if the unit was removed from the vehicle and reinstalled or the vehicle battery was disconnected because the code number remains stored in the vehicle once it is entered for the first time If the code numbers do not match for example because the unit was installed in another vehicle you must deactivate the electronic lock manually Switching on or off Press the off Mito a Figl to switch the unit on This system powers up and the last settings used are loaded The last audio source that was active when the unit was switched off will begin playing AP Na off button Q Fig again to switch the unit off Once the unit is switched on the last audio source will begin playing at the last volume level used as long as it is not higher than the preset start up volume Timeout The unit switches off when you remove the key from the ignition You can switch the unit on again with the on off button Fig Q The unit will then switch off again automatically after half an hour to preserve the vehicle battery General operation The following provides an overview of how to operate the unit The main menus and the sound settings menu are called up
