Ny A oy 5 Os NOTE Water ingress may occur when the USB cable is plugged in and the rubber cap is open LS BEAM 13 Configuration settings The Oceana 800 terminal is ready for you to make voice calls as soon as it is registered If you wish to customise the operation of your Oceana 800 the Falcon application is reguired This first step is to install the BEAM USB driver USB driver installation Oceana 800 terminal USB data port reguires an interface driver to be installed on the user s computer prior to undertaking data communication This driver supports the follovving operating systems Windows XP SP3 or above 8 Windows 7 The Windows driver for the Oceana 800 is contained in the Falcon software download If reguired separately the USB driver can be downloaded from www beamcommunications com support oceana800 A NOTE MAC OS is not supported by this software Configuration using Falcon Falcon can be downloaded from www beamcommunications com support oceana800 Follow the instructions in the downloaded application to install Once complete connect your PC to the USB port of the terminal and start Falcon You can then use the application for a range of options such as View the status of the unit Configure tracking settings Configure POTS settings Send receive SMS Resetting factory defaults Store edit retrieve settings Modifying sup

The tracking amp instant message function is NOT enabled by default and it has to be configured using the Falcon software via the mini USB connection to the Oceana 800 Various configuration options are available to the user in Falcon The message delivery method is also set using the Falcon Please refer to the Falcon user guide for more details on how to configure and enable the tracking amp instant message function on the Oceana 800 terminal Send tracking position In order to send a tracking message the following conditions must be fulfilled 1 The GPS receiver has acquired enough satellite signals and navigational data to calculate a positional solution fix 2 The Oceana 800 is registered with the GSPS network 3 Tracking is configured and enabled via the Falcon The track LED will stay off if the tracking function is disabled It will turn solid GREEN if all of the above conditions are satisfied Otherwise it will flash in GREEN if the tracking function is enabled but no GPS fix and or GSPS registration has occured BEAM Oceana 800 Installation amp User Manual To manually send a tracking message of the current location A Apply a single press to the track button A single beep will sound if configured in the Falcon Activate instant message mode Instant message mode can be activated by one of the following two methods 1 Press and hold the instant message button for 2 seconds A single beep will sou
5. can be added from stored contacts by selecting Options gt Add recipient Only entries containing an email address will be displayed To send your message to an email address which is not stored use the up navigation key to move the cursor into the To field and type the address For symbols such as the sign press the key and then use the navigation keys to select from the menu After entering the 44 address wait for 5 seconds and the terminal will place a after the entry allowing you to enter another address When you move the cursor away from the To field or open Options your terminal will check the email addresses entered If addresses do not follow the format of a valid email address they will be deleted and an error message displayed Receiving text and email messages Messages can be received when the antenna and your terminal is connected to the network even if you are ona call or when incoming calls are forwarded to another phone number If your Oceana 800 is disconnected power off when a message is received the message is stored by the network until your terminal is powered on and registered with the network Delivery will be attempted for the duration that your message remains in the network To check or change this setting select Menu gt Messaging gt Options gt Settings gt Text msg settings gt Validity period When you receive a message on your terminal an unread message icon will appear

Call barring prevents the following call types from being made or received by your Terminal Outgoing calls bars all outgoing calls International calls bars all outgoing calls International except to home bars all outgoing calls except to other Inmarsat numbers Incoming calls bars all incoming calls Incoming outside home bars all incoming calls except from other Inmarsat numbers If you are using a SIM card with local country numbering the call barring is as described by the menu The first time you set up call barring you will need to reset the barring password Select Menu gt Settings gt Call settings gt Call barring Select Options and navigate to Change barring pass code Enter the barring pass code and select OK The default is 0000 Enter a new four digit pass code and select OK Then enter the new pass code again to confirm it You will need to enter this new pass code whenever you change your call barring settings To cancel a bar highlight that type of call in the Call barring menu select Options and select Cancel To cancel all call barring select Options and select Cancel all barring To check the status of a call bar highlight that type of call in the Call barring menu select Options and select Check status The barring code can be entered incorrectly an unlimited number of times If you have forgotten your code please contact your service provider A NOTE Fixed number dial

You will also be prompted to enter the PIN code if one is set The default setting for the PIN code is off See Setting up SIM PIN code on page 57 for more information Until a SIM card is inserted only a limited service is available See Making an emergency call on page 37 for more information Setting the Oceana 800 language and time zone The first time you power on your Oceana 800 you will be prompted to select your language This will be the display language Select your language from a list using the navigation keys and the centre selection key See Setting terminal language on page 53 for more information After you have selected your language you will be prompted to select your time zone Your terminal automatically receives universal time UTC from GPS satellites By selecting the time zone the terminal s clock will display your local time If you move into another time zone you will need to change this setting See Setting the time and Setting the time zone on page 54 for more information Using info Important information about the status of your terminal is displayed in the information shortcut Info on the main screen These include missed calls new messages voicemails today s organiser appointments active profile status your phone number and your service provider s number Info will pop up on the main screen if you have missed a call or have new messages or voicemails waitin
12. 2 This device must accept any interference including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device Electronic devices Most modern electronic equipment is shielded from RF signals Hovvever certain equipment may not be shielded against the RF signals from the Oceana 800 Pacemakers The Health Industry Manufacturers Association recommends that a minimum separation of 15cm be maintained between a wireless phone s antenna and a pacemaker to avoid potential interference with the pacemaker These recommendations are consistent with the independent research by and recommendations of Wireless Technology Research Persons with pacemakers Should ALWAYS keep the terminal more than 15cm from their pacemaker when terminal is turned ON Should the terminal be on SLEEP mode you are still reguired to keep your distance of at least 15cm from the terminal Other medical devices If you use any other personal medical device consult the manufacturer of your device to determine if it is adequately shielded from external RF energy Your physician may be able to assist you in obtaining this information A NOTE Hospitals and or health care facilities may be using equipment that could be sensitive to external RF energy LS BEAM Oceana 800 design Robust design and construction Secure mount to wall desk IP54 rated enclosure Integrated antenna connection Integrated USB connectivity e Rear cab
13. 20 minutes when this input YELLOW wire is switched off before entering into sleep mode This timer is able to be configured in Falcon If a call is in progress while this occurs the Oceana 800 will stay on for 20 minutes after the call is terminated Please follow the steps below to connect the DC power cable to the battery power and the Oceana 800 RED Vin 10 to 32VDC Route the wire end of the DC power cable to the connection point Connect the BLACK wire to the negative terminal of the battery Connect the RED wire to the positive terminal of the battery It is recommended to add the 5A fuse supplied between them Connect the YELLOW wire to a switch It is recommended to add a 1A fuse between them If the SLEEP function is not required the YELLOW wire MUST be connected to the RED wire permanently Connect the 4 way Microfit connector on the DC power cable to the 4 way power connector on the rear cable loom of the Oceana 800 unit To Battery Positive Terminal J BLACK OV Power Ground YELLOW ON SLEEP Requires 5A Fuse To Negative Terminal or chassis To ON OFF switch 1A Fuse recommended CG DerAaM 11 Cable routing There are three different cable routing options when installing the Oceana 800 Cables may exit via path A that travels around to the top of the Oceana 800 allowing for the interface cables to be run with coaxial antenna cables Path B directs cables out the base of the
