8. can edit the URL A new short code can be added to the main system only so you have to request it from your Operator Admin Page 18 of 21 MessageManager Platform Administration Interface Appendix Definitions These are the basic terms and concepts used in this document Consumer the customer who purchases Mobile Telephony services from the Operator The Message Manager Platform services provided to the consumer are charged directly to their mobile phone bill and therefore no separate billing is performed in the Message Manager Platform In other words consumers are managed by the Operator only Distributors cannot create and manage consumers A Consumer is actually a Customer with just one User account and the Consumer s phone number is used as the only Originator Credit limit the maximum amount of debt the Postpaid Customer is allowed to incur Credits Basic accounting units used to maintain financial relations with the customers Every operation in the Message Manager Platform environment including sending the message checking the message status etc costs the Customer a certain number of credits The Operator can sell credits to Customers and to Distributors allowing those to refill their accounts Distributors can sell credits to their customers Credit units are normally set to be equal to the real currency units Customer These are the clients who unlike Consumers have their own accounts with Mes

14. l person who is using the service and has the software installed on his PC The person can be the same as the customer however there can be several End Users for a given Customer Page 19 of 21 MessageManager Platform Administration Interface Customer ID Each End User has access to the service on his PC with a User Name and Password Mobile User The person accessing the platform from his Mobile device It might be a registered service End User or a user within the mobile network e MSISDN a number uniquely identifying a subscription in a GSM mobile network Simply put it is the telephone number to the SIM card in a mobile cellular phone The abbreviation has several interpretations most common one being Mobile Subscriber Integrated Services Digital Network Number Operator the corporate body responsible for all aspects of the service provision from technical maintenance of the Message Manager Platform infrastructure to maintaining relations with messaging uplinks accounting and cash collection The Operator has a complete access to all Message Manager Platform administration facilities e Originator The name or number that the Recipients see as the signature for the message received Phone Numbers All phone numbers should be entered in international format in Message Manager Platform It means that the Country Code must be followed by the Local Code and then by the Phone Number As an example numbers sho

18. ry forms Page 7 of 21 MessageManager Platform Administration Interface Il Administering your Customers This level of administration is designed for Administrators of Customers The Customers and their Administrators are created by Operator Administrators or by Distributor Administrators You as a CustomerAdministrator can Manage your own credentials your name and password Manage users create modify delete user records Monitor your packages and their expiration dates e Manage your Distribution lists e Get various statistical reports on your business activities This Chapter also relates to the case when the customer is a consumer which means having just one User account Please be aware that the set of forms and links in the forms depends on the features available from your Operator in general as well as the features your Operator assigned to you as a customer aani gt Please remember that for security reasons after some time of inactivity 4 usually 15 min you are automatically logged out 11 1 Managing Customer profile If you log in as a Customer Administrator first you see the Manage Customer page as shown in Fig 2 Here you can manage your users and originators Il 1 a Managing users in Customer interface To create a new user please click Add user The Create new user form then appears Fig 5 The availability of the fields in this form depends on the privileges given to the Custome
19. sage Manager Platform There are two types of Customers those who have accounts in External Charging System billing system administered directly by the Operator and those who have their accounts in the Message Manager Platform administered by the Distributors A single Customer can have multiple user accounts in the Message Manager Platform therefore enabling for example many employees of a company to access Message Manager Platform services using the same corporate account The Customer may have one or more users registered with their account Customer Edition for example only the top level Enterprise edition of the Message Manager is equipped with an advanced function which makes the PhoneBook capacity virtually unlimited connection to the database on the company server which enables other users of the company to connect to the company server and share the database Customer ID Every customer has a customer ID which is set when provisioned on the system by THE OPERATOR or the Distributor and cannot be modified by the customer himself The customer ID is linked to the customer account All SMS sent from this account are related to this ID Message Originators are also related to the customer ID For multi user account there could be one or several user names and passwords depending on THE OPERATOR the Distributor or the Customer choice but there is always only ONE customer ID End User The End User is the physica
