1. Headphones Speakers HOW TO CONNECT THE TREADMILL TO YOUR CD PLAYER VCR OR COMPUTER To use iFIT com CDs the treadmill must be connected to your portable CD player portable stereo home stereo or computer with CD player See pages 18 and 19 for connecting instructions To use iFIT com video cassettes the treadmill must be connected to your VCR See page 20 for connecting instructions To use iFIT com programs directly from our Web site the treadmill must be connected to your home computer See page 19 for connecting instructions HOW TO CONNECT YOUR PORTABLE CD PLAYER Note If your CD player has separate LINE OUT and PHONES jacks see instruction A below If your CD player has only one jack see instruction B A Plug one end of the audio cable into the jack on the front of the treadmill near the power cord Plug the other end of the cable into the LINE OUT jack on your CD player Plug your headphones into the PHONES jack Head phones B Plug one end of the audio cable into the jack on the front of the treadmill near the power cord Plug the other end of the cable into the splitter Plug the split ter into the PHONES jack on your CD player Plug your headphones into the other side of the splitter PHONES ss ri Splitter Headphones 18 HOW TO CONNECT YOUR PORTABLE STEREO Note If your stereo has an RCA type AUDIO OUT jack
2. demo mode This mode is intended to be used only when a treadmill is displayed in a store Whilst the console is in the demo mode the power cord can be plugged in the key can be removed from the console and the displays and indicators on the console will au tomatically light in a preset sequence although the buttons on the console will not operate If a d appears in the Heart Rate display whilst the information mode is selected press the Speed button so the display is blank To exit the information mode remove the key from the console HOW TO USE PROGRAMS DIRECTLY FROM OUR WEB SITE To use programs from our Web site the treadmill must be connected to your home computer See HOW TO CONNECT YOUR COMPUTER on page 19 In addi tion you must have an internet connection and an in ternet service provider A list of specific system re quirements is found on our Web site Follow the steps below to use a program from our Web site 1 Insert the key into the console See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 12 A Select the iFIT com mode When the key is in serted the manual mode will be selected To use a program from our Web site press the iFIT com button The in dicator on the button will light Go to your computer and start an internet connection Start your web browser if necessary and go to our Web site at www iFIT com Follow the desired links on our Web site to se lect a program Read an
3. serted the manual mode will be selected and the indicator on the Manual Control button will light If you have se lected a program press the Manual Control button to reselect the manual mode 3 Press the Start button or the Speed button to start the walking belt A moment after the button is pressed the walking belt will begin to move at 1 mph Hold the handrails and begin walking As you exercise change the speed of the walking belt as desired by pressing 12 the Speed and but DNNN tons Each time a button Z TN is pressed the speed setting will change by 0 1 mph if a button is held down the speed setting will change in increments of 0 5 mph To change the speed setting quickly press the Quick Speed buttons Note The console can display speed and distance in either miles or kilome tres For simplicity all instructions in this sec tion refer to miles To stop the walking belt press the Stop button The Time display will begin to flash To restart the walking belt press the Start button or the Speed button Note The first time the treadmill is used observe the alignment of the walking belt and align the walking belt if necessary see page 26 Change the incline of the treadmill as desired To change the incline of the treadmill press the Incline buttons Each time a button is pressed the incline will change by 0 5 Follow your progress with the matrix and the disp

The matrix will show the first seven speed settings of the program Certified PERSONALTRAINER Press the Start button or the Speed button to start the program A moment after the button is pressed the tread mill will automatically adjust to the first speed and incline settings of the program Hold the handrails and begin walking Each program is divided into several time seg ments of different lengths One speed setting and one incline setting are programmed for each seg ment Note The same speed setting and or in cline setting may be programmed for two or more consecutive segments 14 The speed setting for the first segment is shown in the flashing Current Segment column of the matrix The incline set tings are not shown in the matrix The speed settings for the next seven segments are shown in the seven columns to the right Current Segment Certified FRSONAL TRAINER When only three seconds remain in the first seg ment of the program both the Current Segment column and the column to the right will flash and a series of tones will sound If the speed and or in cline of the treadmill is about to change the Speed display and or the Incline display will flash to alert you When the first segment ends all speed set tings will move one column to the left The speed setting for the second segment will then be shown in the flashing Current Segment column and the treadmill will automatically adjust to
5. and the Spring 77 are on the Latch Pin Note If there are two Latch Pin Collars place one on each side of the Spring Insert the Latch Pin into the Left Upright 69 and tighten the Latch Knob onto the Latch Pin 8 Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill Note Extra hardware may be included Keep the included hex keys in a secure place The large hex key is used to adjust the walking belt See page 26 To protect the floor or carpet place a mat under the treadmill TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below Find the symptom that applies and follow the steps listed If further assistance is needed please call our Customer Service Department PROBLEM SOLUTION PROBLEM SOLUTION PROBLEM SOLUTION The power does not turn on a Make sure that the power cord is plugged into a properly earthed outlet See page 10 If an ex tension cord is needed use only a 3 conductor 1 mm 14 gauge cord that is no longer than 1 5 m 5 ft Important The treadmill is not compatible with GFCl equipped outlets b After the power cord has been plugged in make sure that the key is fully inserted into the console c Check the circuit breaker located on the treadmill E near the power cord If the switch protrudes as A shown the circuit breaker has tripped To reset the Tripped circuit breaker wait for five minutes and then press the switch ba
6. see instruction A below If your stereo has a 3 5 mm LINE OUT jack see instruction B If your stereo has only a PHONES jack see instruction C A Plug one end of the audio cable into the jack on the front of the treadmill near the power cord Plug the other end of the cable into the adaptor Plug the adaptor into an AUDIO OUT jack on your stereo AUDIO OUT Audio Adaptor B Plug one end of the audio cable into the jack on the front of the treadmill near the power cord Plug the other end of the cable into the LINE OUT jack on your stereo Plug one end of the audio cable into the jack on the front of the treadmill near the power cord Plug the other end of the cable into the splitter Plug the split ter into the PHONES jack on your stereo Plug your headphones into the other side of the splitter Headphones To stop the program at any time press the Stop button The Time display will begin to flash To restart the program press the Start button or the Speed button The walking belt will begin to move at 1 mph When the next segment of the pro gram begins the treadmill will automatically adjust to the speed and incline settings for the next seg ment DI Follow your progress with the displays See step 5 on page 12 5 Measure your heart rate if desired See step 6 on

Base 109 with two 1 1 4 Bolts 104 and two Internal Star Washers 72 Note It may be helpful to use a rubber mallet to fully insert the Right Upright into the bracket Do not tighten the Bolts yet Be careful not to damage the Wire Harness Attach the Left Upright 69 to the left side of the Base 109 in the same way Note There is not a wire harness on the left side PROBLEM The incline of the treadmill does not change correctly or does not change whilst iFIT com CDs and videos are played SOLUTION a With the key in the console press one of the Incline buttons Whilst the incline is changing re move the key After a few seconds re insert the key The treadmill will automatically rise to the maximum incline level and then return to the minimum level This will recalibrate the incline system PROBLEM The heart rate monitor does not function properly SOLUTION a If the heart rate monitor does not function properly see CHEST PULSE SENSOR TROUBLE SHOOTING on page 9 b If the heart rate monitor still does not function properly the battery b should be changed To replace the battery locate the battery cover Battery Cover on the back of the sensor unit Insert a coin into the slot in the cover and turn the cover counterclockwise to the open position Remove the cover Remove the old battery from the sensor unit Insert a new CR 2032 battery making sure that the writing is on top In addition make sure

Battery that the rubber gasket is in place in the sensor unit Replace the bat Cover tery cover and turn it to the closed position Battery Rubber Gasket EEN i 27 PROBLEM The walking belt is off centre or slips when walked on SOLUTION a If the walking belt is off centre first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD If the walking belt has shifted to the left use the hex key to turn the left rear roller bolt clockwise 1 2 of a turn if the walking belt has shifted to the right turn the bolt counterclockwise 1 2 of a turn Be careful not to overtighten the walking belt Plug in the power cord insert the key and run the treadmill for a few minutes Repeat until the walking belt is centred If the walking belt slips when walked on first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD Using the hex key turn both rear roller bolts clockwise 1 4 of a turn When the walking belt is correctly tightened you should be able to lift each side of the walking belt 3 to 4 inches off the walking platform Be careful to keep the walking belt centred Plug in the power cord insert the key and walk on the treadmill for a few minutes Repeat until the walk ing belt is properly tightened PROBLEM The displays of the console do not function properly SOLUTION a Remove the key from the console and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD With the help of a second person carefully tip the Base 109 down as shown Remove the four Long Belly Pan Sc

12. hole in the Console Base Have a second person hold the Pulse Bar 125 firmly on the Console Base 85 Attach the Pulse Bar to the Console Base with two 1 1 4 Screws 92 in the loca tions shown Be careful not to damage the Pulse Wire 124 or the wire on the Console Base Next tighten two 2 Silver Screws 93 into the Console Base and the Pulse Bar in the locations shown Note The correct Screws must be used in the correct loca tions or the Pulse Bar may be damaged 6 Identify the Left and Right Handrails 68 81 see the end views of the Handrails in the inset drawing The curved edges of the Handrails should be on the outside Slide the Right Handrail 81 onto the Right Handrail Bracket 113 and press the lip on the front of the Right Handrail under the Console Base 85 Note It may be helpful to tip the Right Handrail and to tap it with a rub ber mallet to correctly position it Tighten three 3 4 Screws 6 into the Right Handrail as shown Note It may be necessary to move the lower end of the Right Handrail slightly to align the lower screw hole Attach the Left Handrail 68 in the same way See assembly step 1 Tighten the four 1 1 4 Bolts 104 7 Press the Latch Knob Sleeve 75 into the Left Upright 69 Note It may be helpful to use a rubber mallet to fully insert the Latch Knob Sleeve Remove the Latch Knob 70 from the Latch Pin 80 Make sure that the Latch Pin Collar 78

15. page 13 G Turn on the fan if desired See step 7 on page 13 15 7 When you are finished exercising remove the key from the console When the program ends make sure that the in cline of the treadmill is at the lowest setting Next remove the key from the console and put it in a secure place Note If the displays and various indicators on the console remain lit after the key is removed the console is in the demo mode See page 23 and turn off the demo mode When you are finished using the treadmill move the on off switch near the power cord to the off position and unplug the power cord HOW TO USE HEART RATE PROGRAMS A CAUTION i you have heart prob During heart rate pro grams the matrix will show a moving graphic that represents your heart rate Each time a heartbeat is detected Certified PERSONALTRAINER 7 Press the Start button or the Speed button to start the program A moment after the button is pressed the tread mill will automatically adjust to the first speed and incline settings of the program Hold the handrails the current target heart rate the speed and or in cline of the treadmill may automatically change to bring your heart rate closer to the target heart rate If your pulse is not detected during the program the letters PLS will flash in the Heart Rate dis lems or if you are over 60 years of age and have been inactive do not use the heart rate programs I

17. the speed and incline settings for the second segment Note If all of the indicators in the Current Segment column are lit after the speed settings have moved to the left the speed settings may move downward so that only the highest indicators appear in the ma trix If some of the indicators in the Current Segment column are not lit when the speed set tings move to the left again the speed settings will move back up The program will continue in this way until the speed setting for the last segment is shown in the Current Segment column of the matrix and the last segment ends The walking belt will then slow to a stop If the speed or incline setting is too high or too low at any time during the program you can manually override the setting by pressing the Speed or Incline buttons Every few times a Speed button is pressed an additional indicator will light or darken in the Current Segment column If any of the columns to the right of the Current Segment col umn have the same number of lit indicators as the Current Segment column an additional indicator may light or darken in those columns as well Note When the next segment of the program begins the treadmill will automatically adjust to the speed and incline settings for the next segment HOW TO CONNECT YOUR HOME STEREO Note If your stereo has an unused LINE OUT jack see instruction A below If the LINE OUT jack is being used see instruction B A Plug one end o
18. the treadmill back until it rolls freely on the front wheels Carefully move the treadmill to the desired location To re duce the risk of injury use extreme caution whilst mov ing the treadmill Do not move the treadmill over an un even surface 3 Place one foot on the base and carefully lower the treadmill until it is resting in the storage position HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1 See drawing 2 above Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand Pull the latch knob to the left and hold it Pivot the treadmill down until the frame is past the latch pin 2 See drawing 1 above Hold the treadmill firmly with both hands and lower the treadmill to the floor CAUTION To decrease the possibility of injury bend your legs and keep your back straight 24 HOW TO USE THE CHEST PULSE SENSOR HOW TO PUT ON THE CHEST PULSE SENSOR The chest pulse sensor consists of two components the chest strap and the sensor unit see the drawing below Insert the tab on one end of the chest strap into one end of the sensor unit as shown in the inset draw ing Press the end of the sensor unit under the buckle on the chest strap The tab should be flush with the front of the sensor unit Chest Strap ES od Sensor Unit Next wrap the chest pulse sen sor around your chest and attach the other end of the chest strap to the sensor unit Adjust the length of the chest strap if necessary Th

20. treadmill into storage position Never allow children on or around treadmill KEEP HANDS AND FEET AWAY la FROM THIS AREA WHILE THE piu TREADMILL IS IN OPERATION Keep clothing fingers and hair away from moving belt Never try to adjust or fix the belt while it is moving Always wear athletic shoes while operating treadmill EXERCISE GUIDELINES AWARNING Before beginning this or any exercise program consult your physi cian This is especially important for individu als over the age of 35 or individuals with pre existing health problems The pulse sensors are not medical devices Various factors including the user s move ment may affect the accuracy of heart rate readings The pulse sensors are intended only as exercise aids in determining heart rate trends in general The following guidelines will help you to plan your ex ercise program For more detailed exercise informa tion obtain a reputable book or consult your physician EXERCISE INTENSITY Whether your goal is to burn fat or to strengthen your cardiovascular system the key to achieving the desired results is to exercise with the proper intensity The proper intensity level can be found by using your heart rate as a guide The chart below shows recom mended heart rates for fat burning and aerobic exercise 125 115 To find the proper heart rate for you first find your ag

N THE PERFORMANT LUBE WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with PERFORMANT LUBE a high performance lubricant IMPOR TANT Never apply silicone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear HOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER CORD Socket on treadmill This product must be earthed If it should malfunction or break down earthing provides a path of least resistance for electric cur rent to reduce the risk of electric shock This product is equipped with a power cord having an equipment earthing conductor and a earthing plug Ferrite Box Plastic Tie Two power cords are included Select the one that will fit your outlet See drawing 1 Plug the indicated end of the power cord into the socket on the treadmill Next lift the tab on the ferrite box and clamp the ferrite box around the power cord Fasten the included plastic tie just behind the ferrite box and cut off the excess plastic tie The plastic tie will prevent the ferrite box from sliding along the power cord See drawing 2 Plug the power cord into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and earthed in accordance with all local codes and ordinances Important The treadmill is not compatible with GFCl equipped outlets Important If the power cord is damaged it must be replaced with a manufacturer recommended power cord A DANG ER Improper connec

Note If there are sheets of clear plastic on the console remove them FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to help you get the most from your workouts Whilst the manual mode of the console is selected the speed and incline of the treadmill can be changed with the touch of a button As you exercise the console will display instant exercise feedback You can even mea sure your heart rate using the handgrip pulse sensor or the chest pulse sensor In addition the console offers four preset programs Each program automatically controls the speed and in cline of the treadmill as it guides you through an effec tive workout Four heart rate programs are also offered Each program automatically adjusts the speed and in cline of the treadmill to keep your heart rate near a tar get heart rate whilst you exercise The console also features iFIT com interactive technol ogy Having iFIT com technology is like having a per sonal trainer in your home Using the included audio 11 cable you can connect the treadmill to your home stereo portable stereo computer or VCR and play special iFIT com CD and video programs iFIT com CDs and videocassettes are available separately iFIT com CD and video programs automatically control the speed and incline of the treadmill as a personal trainer guides you through every step of your workout High energy music provides added motivatio

Pace display This display shows your pace in minutes per mile Time display Whilst the manual mode or the iFIT com mode is se II LI Cl lected this display will show the elapsed time Whilst a program is se lected except for the heart rate Self Select pro gram the display will show the time remaining in the program ID Distance display This display shows the distance that you have walked or run SSA To reset the displays press the Stop button re move the key and then reinsert the key 13 G Measure your heart rate if desired You can measure your heart rate using either the chest pulse sensor or the handgrip pulse sensor To use the hand grip pulse sen sor first make sure that your hands are clean Next stand on the foot rails and hold the handgrip pulse sensor with your palms on the metal contacts Avoid moving your hands When your pulse is detected two dashes will appear in the Heart Rate display and then your heart rate will be shown For the most accurate heart rate read ing continue to hold the contacts for about 15 seconds Turn on the fan if desired To turn on the fan press the button below the fan To turn on the fan at high speed press the button a second time To turn off the fan press the but ton a third time Note A few minutes after the walking belt is stopped the fan will automatically turn off When you are fini
27. ck in d Check the on off switch located on the treadmill On near the power cord The switch must be in the on Position position The power turns off during use a Check the circuit breaker located on the treadmill frame near the power cord see c above If the circuit breaker has tripped wait for five minutes and then press the switch back in b Make sure that the power cord is plugged in If it is plugged in unplug it wait for five minutes and then plug it back in c Remove the key from the console Reinsert the key fully into the console d Make sure that the on off switch is in the on position e If the treadmill still will not run please call our Customer Service Department The walking belt slows when walked on a If an extension cord is needed use only a 3 conductor 1mm 14 gauge cord that is no longer than 1 5 m 5 ft b If the walking belt is overtightened treadmill performance may decrease and the walking belt may become dam aged Remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD Using the hex key turn both rear roller adjustment bolts counterclockwise 1 4 of a turn When the walking belt is properly tightened you should be able to lift each side of the walking belt 5 7 cm 2 3 in off the walking platform Be careful to keep the walking belt centred Plug in the power cord insert the key and run the treadmill for a I few minutes Repeat until the walking belt is properly tight Rear Roller Adjustment Bol
28. cted the same target heart rate is programmed for all segments During each segment the console will regularly compare your heart rate to the current target heart rate If your heart rate is too far below or above the target heart rate the speed of the treadmill will automatically increase or decrease to bring your heart rate closer to the target heart rate If the speed reaches the maximum speed setting of the program see step 5 on page 16 and your heart rate is still too far below the current target heart rate the incline of the treadmill will also increase to bring your heart rate closer to the target heart rate During the last three seconds of each segment a series of tones will sound and the Speed display and the Incline display will flash The program will continue until the last segment ends The walking belt will then slow to a stop If the speed or incline setting is too high or too low at any time during the program you can adjust the setting with the Speed or Incline buttons However each time the console compares your heart rate to To stop the program press the Stop button Heart rate programs cannot be stopped temporarily and then restarted To use a heart rate program again reselect the program and start it at the beginning Follow your progress with the displays See step 5 on page 12 Note During heart rate programs the display above the Heart Rate display will show your heart rate as a percent age
29. d follow the on line instructions for using a program Follow the on line instructions to start the program When you start the program an on screen count down will begin 7 Return to the treadmill and stand on the foot pads Find the clip attached to the key and slide the clip onto the waistband of your clothes When the on screen countdown ends the program will begin and the walking belt will begin to move Hold the handrails step onto the walking belt and begin walking During the program an electronic 22 chirping sound will alert you when the speed and or incline of the treadmill is about to change CAUTION Always listen for the chirp and be prepared for speed and or incline changes If the speed or incline settings are too high or too low you can manually override the settings at any time by pressing the Speed or Incline buttons on the console However when the next chirp is heard the speed and or incline will change to the next settings of the program To stop the walking belt at any time press the Stop button on the console The Time display will begin to flash To restart the program press the Start button or the Speed button After a mo ment the walking belt will begin to move at 1 mph When the next chirp is heard the speed and incline will change to the next settings of the program When the program is completed the walking belt will stop and the Time display will begin
30. damp cloth never use alcohol abrasives or chemicals The chest strap may be hand washed and air dried CHEST PULSE SENSOR TROUBLESHOOTING The instructions on the following pages explain how the chest pulse sensor is used with the con sole If the chest pulse sensor does not function properly try the steps below Make sure that you are wearing the chest pulse sen sor as described at the left Note If the chest pulse sensor does not function when positioned as de scribed move it slightly lower or higher on your chest Use saline solution such as saliva or contact lens solution to wet the two electrode areas on the sensor unit If heart rate readings do not appear until you begin perspiring re wet the electrode areas As you walk or run on the treadmill position your self near the centre of the walking belt For the console to display heart rate readings the user must be within arm s length of the console The chest pulse sensor is designed to work with people who have normal heart rhythms Heart rate reading problems may be caused by medical conditions such as premature ventricular contrac tions pvcs tachycardia bursts and arrhythmia e The operation of the chest pulse sensor can be affected by magnetic interference caused by high power lines or other sources If it is suspected that this is a problem try relocating the treadmill e The CR2032 battery may need to be replaced see page 27 TREADMILL OPERATIO
31. e chest pulse sensor should be under your clothes tight against your skin and as high under the pectoral mus cles or breasts as is comfortable Make sure that the logo on the sensor unit is facing forward and is right side up Pull the sensor unit away from your body a few inches and locate the two electrode areas on the inner side the electrode areas are covered by shallow ridges Using saline solution such as saliva or contact lens so lution wet both electrode areas Return the sensor unit to a position against your chest CHEST PULSE SENSOR CARE AND MAINTENANCE e Thoroughly dry the chest pulse sensor after each use The chest pulse sensor is activated when the electrode areas are wetted and the heart rate monitor is put on the chest pulse sensor shuts off when it is removed and the electrode areas are dried If the chest pulse sensor is not dried after each use it may remain activated longer than nec essary draining the battery prematurely e Store the chest pulse sensor in a warm dry place Do not store the chest pulse sensor in a plastic bag or other container that may trap moisture e Do not expose the chest pulse sensor to direct sunlight for extended periods of time do not expose it to temperatures above 50 Celsius 122 Fahrenheit or below 10 Celsius 14 Fahrenheit e Do not excessively bend or stretch the sensor unit when using or storing the chest pulse sensor e Clean the sensor unit using a
32. e near the bottom of the chart ages are rounded off to the nearest ten years Next find the three numbers above your age The three numbers define your train ing zone The lower two numbers are recommended heart rates for fat burning the highest number is the recommended heart rate for aerobic exercise To measure your heart rate during exercise use the handgrip pulse sensor If your heart rate is too high or too low adjust the speed or incline of the treadmill Fat Burning To burn fat effectively you must exercise at a relatively low intensity level for a sustained period of time During the first few minutes of exercise your body uses easily accessible carbohydrate calories for en ergy Only after the first few minutes does your body begin to use stored fat calories for energy If your goal is to burn fat adjust the speed or incline of the tread mill until your heart rate is near the lowest number in your training zone For maximum fat burning adjust the speed or incline of the treadmill until your heart rate is near the middle number in your training zone Aerobic Exercise If your goal is to strengthen your cardiovascular sys tem your exercise must be aerobic Aerobic exercise is activity that requires large amounts of oxygen for prolonged periods of time This increases the demand on the heart to pump blood to the muscles and on the lungs to oxygenate the blood For aerobic exercise adjust the speed

42. or incline of the treadmill until your heart rate is near the highest number in your training zone WORKOUT GUIDELINES Each workout should include the following three parts A Warm up Start each workout with 5 to 10 minutes of stretching and light exercise A proper warm up in creases your body temperature heart rate and circula tion in preparation for exercise Training Zone Exercise After warming up increase the intensity of your exercise until your pulse is in your training zone for 20 to 60 minutes During the first few weeks of your exercise program do not keep your pulse in your training zone for longer than 20 minutes Breathe regularly and deeply as you exercise never hold your breath A Cool down Finish each workout with 5 to 10 min utes of stretching to cool down This will increase the flexibility of your muscles and will help prevent post ex ercise problems EXERCISE FREQUENCY To maintain or improve your condition complete three workouts each week with at least one day of rest be tween workouts After a few months you may com plete up to five workouts each week if desired The key to success is to make exercise a regular and enjoyable part of your everyday life 28 BEFORE YOU BEGIN Congratulations for purchasing the PROFORM 590 HR treadmill The 590 HR treadmill offers an impres sive array of features to help you achieve your fitness goals in the convenience of your home From the ad vanc
43. rews 121 Note A phillips screwdriver with at least a 5 shaft is required With the help of a second person carefully raise the Upright 82 as shown Carefully pivot the Hood 39 off Locate the Reed Switch 24 and the Magnet 18 on the left side of the Pulley 120 Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch Make sure that the gap between the Magnet and the Reed Switch is about 3mm 1 8 in If necessary loosen the Screw 25 and move the Reed Switch slightly Retighten the Screw Reattach the Hood and run the treadmill for a few minutes to check for a cor rect speed reading 26 Open part bag C See drawing 2a Attach a Wheel 108 to each Wheel Housing 106 with a Wheel Bolt 107 and a Wheel Nut 21 as shown Do not overtighten the Wheel Bolts See drawing 2b Insert a Wheel Housing 106 into the Base 109 Note It may be helpful to use a rubber mallet to fully insert the Wheel Housing Next press a Base Endcap 99 into the Base Repeat this step on the opposite side of the treadmill With the help of a second person carefully tip the Uprights 69 82 down so the treadmill pivots on the Wheels 108 as shown Tighten a 3 4 Screw 6 into one side of the Base 109 and one of the Wheel Housings 106 Attach a long Rear Base Pad 105 and a short Front Base Pad 100 to the Base with four additional 3 4 Scre

48. ts ened 25 HOW TO FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill adjust the incline to the lowest position If this is not done the treadmill may be per manently damaged Next unplug the power cord CAUTION You must be able to safely lift 45 pounds 20 kg to raise lower or move the treadmill 1 Hold the treadmill in the locations shown at the right To de crease the possibility of injury bend your legs and keep your back straight As you raise the treadmill make sure to lift with your legs rather than your back Raise the tread mill about halfway to the vertical position 2 Move your right hand to the position shown and hold the treadmill firmly Using your left hand pull the latch knob to the left and hold it Raise the treadmill until the frame is past the latch pin Slowly release the latch knob Make sure that the frame is securely held by the latch pin To protect the floor or carpet from damage place a mat under the treadmill Keep the treadmill out of direct sun light Do not leave the treadmill in the storage position in temperatures above 30 C 85 F HOW TO MOVE THE TREADMILL Before moving the treadmill convert the treadmill to the storage position as described above Make sure that the frame is se curely held by the latch pin N SS 1 Hold the upper ends of the handrails Place one foot on the base as shown 2 Tilt
49. ws 6 as shown Repeat this step on the opposite side of the treadmill With the help of a second person carefully raise the Uprights 69 82 to the vertical position Open part bag A With the help of a second person hold the Console Base 85 near the Uprights 69 82 as shown Connect the Wire Harness 83 to the wire harness in the Right Handrail Bracket 113 Make sure to connect the connectors properly see the inset drawing The connectors should slide together easily and snap into place If the connectors do not slide together easily and snap into place turn one connector and try to con nect them again IF THE CONNECTORS ARE NOT CONNECTED PROPERLY THE CONSOLE MAY BE DAMAGED WHEN THE POWER IS TURNED ON Insert the wires harnesses into the Right Upright 82 Hold the Handrail Brackets 73 113 on top of the Uprights 69 82 Finger tighten two 1 Bolts 71 with Internal Star Washers 72 into the Handrail Brackets and the tops of the Uprights as shown Press the Handrail Brackets towards the centre of the tread mill Then tighten both Bolts 5 Hold the Pulse Bar 125 near the Console Base 85 Connect the Pulse Wire 124 on the Pulse Bar to the in dicated wire on the Console Base The connectors should slide together easily and snap into place If the connectors do not slide together easily and snap into place turn one connector and try to connect them again Insert the wires into the
