Mist Feature Push down on the wiper lever to activate a single wipe to clear off road mist or spray from a passing vehicle As long as the lever is held down the wipers will continue to operate NOTE The mist feature does not activate the washer pump therefore no washer fluid will be sprayed on the windshield The wash function must be used in order to spray the windshield with washer fluid Rear Window Wiper Washer If Equipped A rotary switch on the center portion of the control lever located on the right side of the steering column controls the operation of the rear wiper washer function Rotate the switch upward to the first detent position for rear wiper operation Rotate the switch upward past the first detent to activate the rear washer The washer pump and the wiper will continue to operate as long as the switch is held Upon release the wiper will cycle two to three times before returning to the set position If the rear wiper is operating when the ignition is turned to the LOCK position the wiper will automatically return to the Park position When the vehicle is restarted the wiper will resume function at whichever position the switch is set at OPERATING YOUR VEHICLE ELECTRONIC SPEED CONTROL When engaged the Electronic Speed Control takes over accelerator operations at speeds greater than 25 mph 40 km h The Electronic Speed Control buttons are located on the right side of the steering
5. e Canadian residents should refer to Transport Canada s website for additional Information http www tc gc ca eng motorvehiclesafety safedrivers childsafety index 53 htm LATCH Lower Anchors And Tethers For CHildren Four Door Models e Your vehicle is equipped with the child restraint anchorage system called LATCH which stands for Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren e The rear outboard seating positions have lower anchors and top tether anchors The rear center seating position has a top tether anchor only GETT NG STARTED LATCH Lower Anchors And Tethers For CHildren Two Door Models e Your vehicle is equipped with the child restraint anchorage system called LATCH which stands for Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren e All rear seating positions have lower anchors and top tether anchors LATCH Weight Limit You may use the LATCH anchorage sys tem until the combined weight of the child and the child restraint is 65 Ibs 29 5 kg Use the seat belt and tether anchor instead of the LATCH system once the combined weight is more than 65 165 29 5 kg Locating LATCH Anchorages The lower anchorages are round bars that are found at the rear of the seat cushion where it meets the seatback below the anchorage symbols Ke on the seatback Lower Anchors They are just visible when you lean into the rear seat to install the child restraint You will easily feel them if you run your finger along the gap between

GETT NG STARTED To Disarm The System Push the Key Fob UNLOCK button or cycle the ignition to the ON RUN position The Vehicle Security Alarm is designed to protect your vehicle However you can create conditions where the Vehicle Security Alarm will give you a false alarm If one of the previously described arming sequences has occurred the Vehicle Security Alarm will arm regardless of whether you are in the vehicle or not If you remain in the vehicle and open a door the alarm will sound If this occurs disarm the Vehicle Security Alarm If the Vehicle Security Alarm is armed and the battery becomes disconnected the Vehicle Security Alarm will remain armed when the battery is reconnected The exterior lights will flash and the horn will sound If this occurs disarm the Vehicle Security Alarm SEAT BELT SYSTEMS Lap Shoulder Belts e All seating positions in your vehicle are equipped with lap shoulder belts e Be sure everyone in your vehicle is in a seat and using a seat belt properly e Position the lap belt so that it is snug and lies low across your hips below your abdomen To remove slack in the lap belt portion pull up on the shoulder belt To loosen the lap belt if it is too tight tilt the latch plate and pull on the lap belt A snug seat belt reduces the risk of sliding under the seat belt in a collision e Position the shoulder belt across the shoulder and chest with minimal if any slack so that it is comfortable and

This should be considered a normal part of the break in and not interpreted as an indication of an engine problem or malfunction CAUTION Never use Non Detergent Oil or Straight Mineral Oil in the engine or damage may result TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS LEVER Headlights And Parking Lights Turn the end of the multifunction lever to the first detent for parking light opera tion Turn to the second detent for head light operation Instrument Panel Dimmer e Rotate the center portion of the lever to the extreme bottom position to fully dim the instrument panel lights and prevent the interior lights from illumi nating when a door is opened e Rotate the center portion of the lever up to Increase the brightness of the Multifunction Lever instrument panel lights when the park ing lights or headlights are on 28 OPERATING YOUR VEHICLE e Rotate the center portion of the lever upward to the next detent position to brighten the odometer and radio controls when the parking lights or headlights are on e Rotate the center portion of the lever upward to the last detent to turn on the Interior lighting Flash To Pass You can signal another vehicle with your headlights by lightly pulling the multifunc tion lever toward you This will turn on the high beams headlights until the lever is released High Low Beam Switch Push the multifunction lever away from you to switch the headlights to high beam Pull the lever towar
