NING The rear derailleur is NOT designed to operate and is therefore not compatible with Ultra Shift Power Shift Ergopower controls and Bar End controls from the 2014 range and prior which do not bear the distinctive marking The part you have is the result of nume rous engineering operations carried out on various parts in order to improve the overall performance of the drivetrain unit 5 USE The use of parts which do not be long to this range may significantly reduce the overall performance of the drivetrain therefore we recom mend not mixing parts from the old ranges with those from the new n order to help you and to enhance performance Campagnolo has introdu in order to point out their compatibility Therefore please ensure that the let er in the parts that operate for shifting right hand ErgoPower or bar end and rear derailleur and in the parts that ope rate for derailings left hand ErgoPower or bar end and front derailleur crankset and bottom bracket cup correspond 32 ENGLISH The rear derailleur is the component of the drivetrain unit of the bicycle that allows the displacement of the chain on sprockets to obtain different drivetrain gears between crankset and wheel the parts that compose the rear derailleur are shown in Fig 1 ced a distinctive mark a boxed letter A pivots as illustrated here on the new Super B rear derailleur hanger Record Record and Chorus u
5. advised that if the maintenance and repair procedures provided in this manual are not properly performed or if the other instructions in this manual are not followed an accident could occur e Never make any modifications whatsoever to any component of any Campagnolo product e Parts which have been bent or otherwise damaged in an accident or as a result of any other impact must not be re straightened They must be replaced immediately with original Campagnolo parts e Wear clothes which are snug fitting and which make you visible to traffic such as neon fluorescent or other bright colors e Avoid biking at night because it is more difficult for you to be seen by traffic and it is more difficult for you to see obstructions on the ground If you do ride at night you should equip your bicycle with and use a headlight and a tail light e Never use a bicycle or bicycle component unless you are thoroughly familiar with its use and maintenance history Used equipment may have been misused and abused and can unexpectedly fail resulting in an accident e When riding in wet conditions remember that the stopping power of your brakes is greatly reduced and that the aderence of the tires on the ground is considerably reduced This makes it harder to control and stop your bicycle Extra care is required when riding your bicycle in wet conditions to avoid an accident e Always wear a properly fitted and fastened bicycle helmet that has been approved

7. ave carbon or plastic products in direct sunlight 40 ENGLISH 7 1 CLEANING AND LUBRICATION OF THE REAR DERAILLEUR e Before lubricating carefully clean the drivetrain system sprocket pack chainrings and rear derailleur wheels with a brush or cloth soaked in a specific degreaser deter gent In the case of dust or mud remove any residuals with specific plastic tools e Dry the drivetrain with a soft cloth never use abrasive sponges or metal scouring pads e Carefully lubricate the components using a specific chain lubricant e After application turn the hand cranks using all the possible gear combinations in order to properly lubricate the entire drivetrain e Carefully clean any remaining lubricant remaining on the bicycle or the floor e At the end of the lubrication operations CAREFULLY degrease the braking rim and the brake blocks N WARNING Residual lubricant on the rims and the brake blocks can reduce or cancel out the braking performance of your bicycle and be the cause of accidents physical injury or death ENGLISH 41 8 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE NOTES Maintenance intervals are strictly approximate and may vary significantly in rela tion to the intensity and conditions of use for example competitions rain winter roads with salt weight of the athlete etc Schedule the appropriate maintenan ce with your mechanic KM TIME PROCEDURE INDICATION I
8. e with a 11 23 sprocket cassette and a particularly long rear derailleur dropout 28 mm it is normal that the distance cannot be set to less than 7 mm ENGLISH 35 Aampaqaolo lf the distance is too large tighten the screw G Fig 4 if the distance is too short unscrew the screw Noise or vibrations of the rear derail leur can be caused by the proximity of the upper wheel to the sprocket pack while the slow shifting can be caused by an excessive distance of the upper wheel to the sprocket pack 36 ENGLISH 5 3 CORRECT REAR DERAILLEUR PERFORMANCE ON LARGEST SPROCKET AND ON SMALLEST SPROCKET In the event of difficulties in raising on the largest sprocket or falling to the smal lest sprocket or if the chain tends to go beyond these two sprockets contact a Campagnolo mechanic specialised in the assembly Z WARNING The adjustments of the lower and upper end stroke of the rear derailleur are car ried out by specialised personnel An inaccurately adjusted rear derailleur may cause malfunction and dangerous situations which could cause accidents personal injury or death ZN WARNING Campagnolo spare parts must only be installed by qualified personnel with spe cialised knowledge suitable tools and sufficient experience and who carefully follow the installation instructions Failure to comply with the above could result in product malfunctions accidents physical injury or d
9. eath ENGLISH 37 Campagnolo 6 PERIODIC INSPECTIONS Before each use or after any falls or impacts with external elements make sure that there is none of the following anomalies e abnormal noise coming from the rear derailleur during shifting e positioning the rear derailleur on the largest sprocket observing it from the rear part is noted that the rocker shows the lower part that gets too close to the spokes of the wheel since the rear derailleur connection drop out is possi bly bent Fig 5 ZN WARNING Do not try to bend the rear derailleur connection drop out in order to avoid breaking the coupling screw and do not use the rear derailleur on larger sprockets because the rear derailleur could get in contact with the spokes and be damaged and cause accidents personal injury or death 38 ENGLISH Aampaqnolo e body pulleys or rocker have an excessive play try to move the rocker sideways to show any excessive play e the wheels of the rocker do not turn freely Also make sure that the chain does not have any problems oxidised worn damaged or jammed links If you find one or more of these problems or if you have doubts about the correct operation of the crankset contact specialised personnel as indicated in the assembly disassembly chapter 7 MAINTENANCE LUBRICATION CLEANING e The duration of the components is variable based on the conditions of use frequency and quality
10. is product such as off road or on trails is forbidden LIFESPAN WEAR INSPECTION REQUIREMENT The lifespan of Campagnolo components depends on many factors such as rider size and riding conditions Impacts falls improper use or harsh use in general may compromise the structural integrity of the components and significantly reduce their lifespan Some components are also subject to wear over time Please have your bicycle regularly inspected by a gualified mechanic for any cracks deformation signs of fatigue or wear use of penetrating fluid or other visual enhancers to locate cracks on parts is recommended ENGLISH 25 ampaqnolo If the inspection reveals any deformation cracks impact marks or stress marks no mat ter how slight immediately replace the component components that have experienced excessive wear also need immediate replacement The frequency of inspection depen ds on many factors check with your authorized Campagnolo representative to select a schedule that is best for you Ifyou weigh 82 kg 180 lbs or more you must be especially vigilant and have your bicycle inspected more frequently than someone weighting less than 82 kg 180 lbs for any evidence of cracks deformation or other signs of fatigue or stress Check with your mechanic to discuss whether the components you selected are suitable for your use and to determine the frequency of inspections The components of Campagnolo 11s transmissions as we

12. nit parts C rocker D wheels E adjuster screw Some rear derailleur adjustments are possible that allow to obtain e Higher shifting precision in idler spro ckets e Higher shifting speed e Correct rear derailleur performance on largest sprocket and on smallest sprocket ENGLISH 33 Aampaqaolo 5 1 HIGHER SHIFTING PRECISION IN IDLER SPROCKETS The end adjustment of the cable spoke tension allows the alignment of the upper wheel of the rear derailleur with sprockets this adjustment can be per formed with the rear derailleur adjuster screw Place the front derailleur on the 5 sprocket starting from the smallest one and observe the rear derailleur and the sprocket pack from the rear part of the bicycle if the upper wheel is on the right side of the sprocket and or the rear derail leur fails to rise on the largest sprocket turn the adjuster screw anticlockwise unscrew F Fig 2 to move the rear derailleur inwards if the upper wheel is on the left side of the sprocket and or the rear derailleur fails to fall on the smallest sprocket turn the adjuster screw clockwise tighten to move the rear derailleur outwards 34 ENGLISH Aampaqn lo 5 2 HIGHER SHIFTING SPEED Place the chain on the smallest front chainring and on the largest sprocket and check that the distance indicated in Fig 3 is correct Note In the most extreme combination pos sibl
13. of maintenance For proper component maintenance it is necessary to fre quently perform the cleaning and lubrication operations especially under conditions of heavy use e g each time after washing the bicycle after use in wet conditions on dusty or muddy roads etc e Check chapter 8 to determine the frequency with which you should have maintenan ce performed on your components by a specialised mechanic Period maintenance e Dirt seriously damages the bicycle and its components Wash clean and dry your bicycle carefully after use ENGLISH 39 Campagnolo e Never spray your bicycle with water under pressure Pressurized water even form the nozzle of a small garden hose can pass under seals and enter your Campagnolo components thereby affecting its operation Wash your bicycle and Campagnolo components by wiping them down with water and neutral soap e Check that any holes on the bottom bracket shell are unobstructed and allow water infiltrating into the frame to drain ZN WARNING Salty environments such as winter roads or roads near the sea may lead to gal vanic corrosion of most of the bicycle s exposed components To prevent damage malfunctions and accidents rinse dry and carefully re lubricate all components which are subject to this phenomenon e Do not expose the products to high temperature do not leave them closed in cars parked under the sun do not keep them near radiators or other heat sources do not le
