11. and materials for a period of one 1 year from the date of original purchase For warranty service you must provide proof of the date of original purchase What Epson Will Do To Correct Problems Should your Epson printer prove defective during the warranty period please call the Epson Connection at 562 276 7282 U S or 905 709 2567 Canada for warranty repair instructions and return authorization An Epson service technician will provide telephone diagnostic service to determine whether the printer requires service If service is needed Epson will at its option exchange or repair the printer without charge for parts or labor If Epson authorizes an exchange for the defective unit Epson will ship a replacement printer to you freight prepaid so long as you use an address in Canada or the U S excluding Puerto Rico and U S Possessions Shipments to other locations will be made freight collect You are responsible for securely packaging the defective unit and returning it to Epson within five 5 working days of receipt of the replacement Epson requires a debit or a credit card number to secure the cost of the replacement printer in the event that you fail to return the defective one If your printer is being repaired Epson will direct you to send your printer to Epson or its authorized service center where the printer will be fixed and sent back to you You are responsible for packing the printer and for all costs to and fro
12. confirmation screen press OK again Choose options for each of the settings listed on the right Printer ID If multiple Bluetooth enabled printers are in the same communication range you can distinguish them by assigning each a unique number from 0 through 9 Turn PictureMate off and then back on when you re finished Communication Mode Select Discoverable to allow Bluetooth enabled devices to freely discover PictureMate and send print jobs Select Not Discoverable to prevent unknown devices from discovering the printer To print in this mode first search for PictureMate in Discoverable mode After that you will be able to print using this mode Select Pairing to require that a four digit Passkey be entered into a device before it can print from PictureMate Encryption Select On to encrypt communication and require that a four digit Passkey be entered into a device before it can print Save Photos After you print PictureMate asks if you want to save the photos on your camera s memory card to the print history If you select Yes the photos are saved on PictureMate s internal hard drive If you want to change the way photos are saved see page 61 Note PictureMate saves only the photos printed from a memory card not from a camera or thumb drive You can also back up all the photos on your memory card to a thumb drive or other external storage device If you later decide to delete some of the photos

16. streaks choose the one that looks the best Then click Realignment to print another alignment pattern and repeat this step Note The square you select becomes the middle square 5 the next time you align the print head Cleaning PictureMate To keep PictureMate working at its best you should clean it several times a year 1 Turn off PictureMate unplug the power cable and disconnect the power adapter and any USB cable or device 2 Remove all paper then use a soft brush to clean any dust or dirt from the paper feeder and output tray 3 Clean the PictureMate exterior with a soft damp cloth 4 Use a soft dry cloth to clean the PictureMate screen Do not use liquid or chemical cleaners Caution Never use a hard or abrasive brush or alcohol or thinner for cleaning they can damage the components and case Don t get water on the components and don t spray lubricants or oils inside PictureMate Replacing the Remote Control Battery If the remote control stops working you need to change the battery Use a CR2025 lithium button battery only 1 Turn the remote control upside down 2 Push in the latch and slide out the battery holder You may need to use a small screw driver or other tool Ww Remove the old battery Then place a new battery in the holder 4 Push in the battery holder until it clicks into place Printing and Operation Problems If you have problems with PictureMate check the suggest

K D Load 4x6 inch photo paper 5 Press Print The nozzle check pattern is printed 6 Check the pattern to see if there are any gaps or missing lines OK Needs cleaning Ifthe pattern is OK press OK to finish Ifthe pattern has gaps or missing lines select No and press OK Continue pressing OK to start Auto Cleaning Cleaning takes about 60 seconds PictureMate makes some noise and you see an Auto Cleaning message If you don t see any improvement after cleaning three times see Print Quality Problems on page 73 Note You can also clean the print head by selecting Auto Cleaning from the Maintenance menu If you see the photo cartridge low warning you may not be able to clean the print head until you replace the photo cartridge Checking and Cleaning the Print Head Using the Computer You can check the nozzles and clean the print head using your computer 2 Make sure PictureMate is connected to your computer and paper is loaded Windows Right click the ral printer icon on your taskbar in the lower right corner of your screen Select Nozzle Check Macintosh Open the Applications folder and select EPSON Printer Utility3 Select PictureMate in the printer list click OK and select Nozzle Check Follow the instructions on the screen to print a nozzle check pattern 4 Check the pattern to see if there are any gaps or missing lines OK Needs cleaning Ifth

OK Then select the option you want and press OK again Note If you want to change the layout or edit your photos press Menu See page 18 for instructions Make sure you have enough paper loaded then press Print to start printing Note If you are printing more than 20 pages you will need to reload paper while printing Load a maximum of 20 sheets at a time When you see a message that paper is out load more paper and press OK to continue printing If you need to cancel printing press Stop Clear After printing you see a message asking if you want to save the printed photos to the print history Follow the instructions on the screen to save the photos See page 14 for more information Printing From a Slideshow You can select from 12 slideshows with 3D animation and choose photos for printing right from the show 1 From the Home menu select SLIDE SHOW and press OK on the remote control SLIDE SHOW Cross Fade Zoom In Fade In Book Museum Cont inue 2 Select the slideshow you want then press OK PictureMate displays your photos as a slideshow with a variety of animation effects When you see the countdown in the upper right corner of the screen you can select a photo for printing Press OK to select the photo s you want to print Those you select are reserved for printing When the slideshow is finished you see the print confirmation screen Press lt or gt to review y

Select Borderless to print a photo without borders Select Borders to print with a white border all around Borderless prints are automatically expanded If too much of your photo edges are cut off set the Expansion slider to Min If you see a white edge on your photo select Mid or Max You can change the Color Option and see the effects on the sample photo the changes don t affect your original Auto Correction improves the quality of photos that are too dark or have a color cast Scene Correction lets you choose the subject of your photo so that PictureMate can correct it appropriately You can select People Landscapes or Night scene Effect lets you choose from two color effects Sepia for an old fashioned brown look or Black amp White If your photo was taken with a digital camera select Digital Camera Correction to minimize common digital flaws Select Enhance Fine Details to bring out the fine details of a particularly intricate photo printing may be slower Select Fix Red Eye to reduce or remove red eye effects in your photo Select Print Preview to see what your photo will look like before you print Select the number of copies you want to print Tip For more information about printer settings click Help Click OK When you return to the Windows Photo Gallery click Print to start printing During printing this window appears on your computer screen showing the progress of your
