4. belts which are too wide to fit it is dangerous and will result in damage to the transport mechanism Put the machine on its side with the drive belt cover 10 downwards Pull the lever 7 outwards and to the left as far as it will go Removethe old belt from machine Position the new belt on to the sander making sure that direction arrows on inside of the belt face the same way as the direction indicator 9 on the machine Lineup the belt so thatit sits squarely on the front and rear rollers andis fully home Closethe lever to the right to lock the belt in place Aligning the belt If the belt does not run parallel to the outside edge of the machine adjust it by turning knob 6 clockwise to move the belt to the inside and anticlockwise to move to the outside Make sure the machine is turned off and unplug ged during adjustment OPERATION Make sure the switch on the sander is OFF Plug into a suitable mains supply check the cable is rou ted well away from moving parts and switch onat plug Toswitchthesander ON Press the trigger switch 1 Continuous operation press button 4 in while trig ger switch is depressed then release trigger switch the machine is now in continuous operation mode To switch OFF release trigger switch depress and release in continuous operation mode DURING USE _Letthe machine come to full speed before using this helps to stop t
5. he belt getting clogged Use gentle pressure excessive pressure will clog the abrasive paper and slow the sanding action Regularly inspect the abrasive during use switch off first for signs of damage or wear and replace as required Keep the machine moving this allows the debris to be cleared easily and increases the life of the abrasive Do not sand wood directly up and down the grain keep the sander atan angle of 50 to the grain Keep the ventilation slots clear clean dust and debris with soft brush switch offand unplug first Always use the dust bag supplied it does not provide complete protection from very fine dust therefore it is strongly recommended that a suitable dust mask should be worn in addition to other personal protec tion items MAINTENCE CARE AND REPAIR A Switch off and unplug the machine before carrying outany cleaning or maintenance work CLEANING Wear personal protection equipment during cleaning Do not use water or flammable liquids to clean the san der clean with a soft brush FAULTS Switch OFF immediately at the mains plug and remove the plug when Theplugor cable is damaged Theswitch onthe machine is defective You smell or see smoke caused by scorched insula tion in the machine Overheating Putless pressure onthe workpiece The dust is not removed Clean the dust extraction opening Empty the dust extractor bag The machine does no
6. ice Ensure the sander is switched off and unplugged before chan ging belts adjusting or inspecting BEFORE OPERATING Check the voltage on the sander corresponds with your power supply voltage and that the plug and lead are in good condition You have the correct type of abrasive Depending on the finish required use coarse grade 50 for rough uneven surfaces and medium grade 80 for more even surfaces finally finish with fine grade 20 The sander is only for use on dry surfaces it is not designed to be used in wet or damp conditions Do not use water as a lubricant cutting medium or wet and dry abrasive paper Use abrasive belts designed for the sander install facing the right way Ensure you have and wear suitable personal protec tion equipment during sanding and cleaning Route the mains lead away from workarea Run idle for 30 seconds if there is any abnormal vibration or other fault switch off inspect and rec tify before continuing Fitting the dust collector bag Refer to illustration below Dust collector bag supplied the dust bag attaches to the opening 5 at the side of the machine Push the bag assembly 11 onto the dust exhaust hole firmly During use empty bag frequently there is a zip at the rear of the bag for this purpose Fitting replacing the abrasive belts Refer to illustration below Only use abrasive belts that are suitable for this san der Do not cut
