2. the receptacle on the watertight case The Omnistar will power up Set up the pump fuel discharge hose feeding hose adaptors and other accessories Adjust the throttle to desired position The Omnistar system is activated by a flow switch located on the checkvalve When water goes through 4 the checkvalve it lifts the lever and activates the flow switch That flow switch sends a signal to the Omnistar to start the pump When water stops going through the checkvalve the lever goes down and deactivates the flow switch The Omnistar will then stop the pump Make sure the combined pressure of the pumps will not exceed your equipments maximum operating pressure A pressure exceeding the equipment s maxi mum operating pressure can damage your equipment and cause serious injuries Note Make sure the feeding pump s flow rate is always higher than the flow rate of the downstream pump If the flow rate is too low the hose will col lapse When ready start the controlling pump The control ling pump will feed water to the Omnistar controlled pumps which will start automatically It is recommended to go through a trial run to make sure that the Omnistar is working properly with the pump setup Calibrate your setup to ensure the com bined pressure is safe and adequate and to make sure that the feeding pump s flow rate is always higher than the flow rate of the following pump ADVANCED FEATURES Th

4. e system is programmed with an Automatic 3 Starts feature If the Omnistar fails to start the pump on the first try it will attempt to start it again for a total of 3 times If the pump accidentally shuts off during oper ation the Omnistar will automatically attempt to restart the pump for a total of 3 starts The system is equipped with an Automatic Choke fea ture The choke will be activated every time the engine starts for a minimum of 4 seconds or until the pump starts SAFETY FEATURES The Omnistar system is equipped with various safety features The system monitors three parameters Water Pressure Water Flow Engine Vibrations When the pump is running all three conditions have to be met If one condition fails the system will automati cally shut down This feature ensures that the pump will not run dry and will prevent damage to the pump end The Omnistar is also equipped with a Reverse Polarity safety feature If the battery is installed improperly the Omnistar will not be damaged The red LED will light up to indicate TROUBLE STROBE LIGHT OPTION The Strobe Light Option includes e 360 Strobe Light with poly base e Strobe Light wire harness See Installation Manual for Strobe Light installation procedures The Strobe Light can be used to locate the pump It will flash to indicate that the pump is running SYSTEM RESET PROCEDURE The unit is equipped with a reset function that all
5. ows the user to reset the Omnistar If the Omnistar has unsuccessfully attempted to start the pump three times i e fuel tank empty pressing the RESET button will bring the counter down to zero To shut off the pumps turn off the controlling pump The Omnistar controlled pump s will turn off automatically TROUBLESHOOTING This section provides a list of commonly encountered problems and provides possible causes and solutions Problem Omnistar is not powering up Engine is not cranking Engine cranks but does not start Choke solenoid not working properly Cannot start pump using pump start switch located on pump 6 Possible Cause Pump battery level too low Connection cable not connected properly Pump battery level too low Engine starter not connected properly Faulty flow switch Faulty pressure switch Faulty flow switch Faulty engine vibration sensor Contact pins are loose or damaged on pump or case receptacle Engine is not getting any fuel Choke solenoid wires not connected properly Choke solenoid not installed properly on bracket Return spring damaged Omnistar is connected to pump Possible Solution Charge replace battery Make sure connection cable is connected properly Charge replace battery Make sure engine starter is connected properly Replace flow switch Replace pressure switch Replace flow switch Replace engine vibration senso
