Blekeonic Yarn M User Manual Thank you for purchasing our state of the art Electronic Yarn Meter We believe that this unit is the best system with which to measure yarn that is available today and probably for a long time to come This User Manual will describe the unit s basic functions and features and help you to get the best performance and use from the meter Please review this manual and the video that accompanied it Only then will you fully understand what the meter can do Note throughout this manual we will refer to the Electronic Yarn Meter as the EYM Assembly and Construction the EYM is available in 3 different models 1 Standard for basic use and for use with a plastic ball winder 2 HDBW for use with the NKK Heavy Duty Ball Winder 3 Power Base for use with the NKK Power Base and Heavy Duty Ball Winder 4 All 3 models use the same EYM module electronics and meter housing Assemble the EYM stand install brake and cable s Install washers on both sides of mounting rail with knob Install brake Install the standard brake no black X on back of clip E sai Install EYM Module on Soa TINE Use stiffer X brake for special hard Always mount brake with clip height of EYM Module on post to brake cases only closest to the point of yarn entry Plug in Power Base cable Only use l the accessory cable if Power Base Standard Power Base connection Plug in AC adaptor into EYM does not resp
4. ave any problems or questions or to buy wheels tool kits and brakes 090801 Update Here are a couple of last minute updates for EYM owners Brakes Included with your order are 2 Brakes for the EYM small rectangular plastic pieces with mounting clips We also have more rigid brakes if needed However these brakes should meet most users needs Please let us know if you experience any problems in using the brake either not braking when required or Causing any other issue Tools We do not bundle the 5 5mm Nut driver or 1 16 Allen Wrench with the EYM because experience tells us that they will get lost if they are not being used You will not need these for some time only needed when changing wheels however we will give you a free set of tools if you provide written feedback to us on the EYM operation after 30 days of use limit 1 free set per customer Horizontal versus Vertical mounting In our DVD we discuss both methods for mounting your yarn on the EYM However we strongly recommend that you use the vertical method i e up over the top of the wheel versus the horizontal method We believe that the vertical system is more accurate and less problematic But feel free to try both methods out and use the one that works most reliably and accurately for you Horizontal mounting Twisty Tie we installed a new twisty tie to hold your cables back on the rear of the EYM Module Insert cables and twist the legs of the

6. nto SLEEP mode after 5 minutes of inactivity Just press the RESET button ONCE to bring it out of SLEEP mode Your last data will still be displayed unless you press the RESET button a second time When in SLEEP mode the display LEDs and the encoder turn off 4 Master Reset press the Save and Reset buttons simultaneously to reset all data or remove the power plug and re insert it 5 Mode Switch when changing modes all data is lost from the current mode There are 4 Modes Yards Meters Yards and Ounces Meters and Grams All modes can have a Preset mode also 6 Power you may leave the unit on all of the time there is no on off button and it will go into SLEEP mode when not being used For periods longer than a few days disconnect the power cord 7 Wheel Changing after the EYM is used extensively over a long period of time you may have to change the wheel as it will show signs of wear on its foam covered surface Please purchase a replacement wheel only from Nancy s Knit Knacks 8 Wheel Change Tool Kit a tool kit is available from Nancy s Knit Knacks consisting of a 5 5mm nut driver required to remove the wheel nut and a 1 16 x 3 long Allen wrench required to hold the wheel shaft stationary while changing the wheel 9 Brake use the EYM may be used either with or without the brake installed The EYM may record unintentional additional length at the end of a measurement if the brake is not installed How
