4. 37 5 C The range of the normal body temperature differs from one person to another and is determined by many factors age sex time of day location and type of the temperature measurement level of activity emotional state influence by medication and other factors For instance the body temperature of children is approx 0 9 F 0 5 C higher than the body tem perature of adults While asleep most people have a lower body temperature and the body tempera ture increases during the course of the day A gt 19 PJN174 14_GA USA_HHD Ohrthermometer_DSO364_28 07 14 Montag 28 Juli 2014 14 37 38 lt gt e s BODY TEMPERATURE Measurements performed on different parts of the human body produce different results Usually the body temperature measured rectally is approx 0 5 F 0 3 C higher than the body temperature measured in the mouth and this in turn is 0 5 F 0 3 C higher than the body temperature measured in the armpit In order to determine your own body temperature and the body temperature of your family members it is recommended to perform measure ments of the body temperature when in a healthy condition on three to four consecutive days at dif ferent times of the day Thus you can determine the normal body temperature and write it down in order to be able to compare the temperature measurements to the normal values you have determined when required 4 2 Advantages of measurin
