1. call or e mail Chiro Tec Inc at the number or e mail address below to receive a return authorization number and instructions as to how and where to ship the unit Warranty The VM3 carries a 100 satisfaction money back guaranty and a 90 day warranty on parts and labor If you are not completely satisfied or if you need the unit repaired or a part replaced call Chiro Tec for a return authorization number then return the complete and undamaged unit back for a complete refund or repair We believe the VM3 is the best vaporizer on the market and we want you to be completely satisfied 15 Reminders 1 The VM3 cannot be turned on if the mouthpiece slide is closed and the mouthpiece retracted 2 The heating element cannot be energized and will not function if the heating chamber cover is open or not completely closed 3 Do not drop disassemble misuse the unit or expose to extreme heat cold liquids or moisture 4 The moisture potency and essential ingredients of botanical constituents vary No two constituents are exactly the same Therefore you must experiment with different amounts and temperature settings Always begin at a lower temperature and work your way up Do not exceed 230 C 5 Only use constituents that you are familiar with and that are free from additives contamination or pesticides 6 Do not use the VM3 or any other vaporizer if you are pregnant ill or under a doctor s care 16 COND2. Therefore begin with a small amount of constituent and work your way up to that amount which satisfies your personal needs After inserting the constituent into the heating chamber following the above instructions replace the heating chamber in its original position in the unit with your thumb while sliding the heating chamber cover down See Fig 3 You can remove your thumb as the lower edge of the heating chamber cover passes the upper edge of the heating chamber Continue sliding the cover down until it completely closes The resistance you feel in sliding the heating chamber cover into the closed position is normal since in doing so an internal mechanism seats and seals the various heating chamber components To turn on the unit extend the mouthpiece as described above and press the OFF ON button As soon as you turn on the unit numbers will be displayed on the screen The first number you see will be the actual or real time temperature in degrees Celsius also called Centigrade in the heating chamber You can then set the temperature you want the heating chamber to reach by pressing the temperature increase or temperature decrease buttons located immediately below the display screen The desired temperature setting will then be displayed on the screen After about 10 seconds the display will show the real time or actual temperature again To begin the vaporization process depress and hold the HEAT activation button When the HE

AT button is depressed the right red indicator light will go on which indicates that the heating element is on You can follow the temperature increase in the display window As soon as the heating chamber reaches the preset temperature the heating element automatically shuts off and the red indicator light goes out After the preset temperature is displayed and the red light goes out anywhere from 5 15 seconds depending upon the preset temperature slowly inhale the vapor through the mouthpiece just as you would if you were smoking a pipe of using a cigarette holder The number of inhalations per single dose of tobacco herb or essential oil depends upon the nature of the constituent the amount you use the moisture content if an herb and the user s lung capacity For some materials 6 or constituents one or two inhalations may be all that is necessary to extract all of the essential ingredients Other constituents tobaccos for example may require multiple inhalations When it comes to botanicals there are too many variables to generalize as to how many inhalations are possible However as the user you can tell when the constituent s ingredients have been exhausted This is particularly true of the nicotine in tobacco As you become more familiar with the device and the product you are using in it you will be in a better position to anticipate the best number of inhalations The same can also be said as to temperature sett

7. able or moving components You can clean any loose tobacco or herb out of the heating chamber area by gently shaking or blowing It out or using the tweezers or brush in the cleaning kit that comes with the unit You can also use a Q tip To clean any debris or residue off of the lower screen use the supplied brush or tweezers or a Q tip moistened with rubbing alcohol Do not attempt to remove the lower screen If the upper screen becomes clogged you can remove the screen and clean it with rubbing alcohol To remove the screen grab the inside lip of the silicone ring portion of the upper screen with the tweezers included with your cleaning materials and gently pull down The screen will pop out You can then clean it with rubbing alcohol To re install press the screen back into position using your little finger or the smooth end of one of the brushes supplied in the cleaning kit 14 To remove any residue or film from the inside of the vapor collector which the upper screen fits into remove the screen following the above instructions then using the supplied tweezers and a small cotton ball moistened with alcohol clean the inside of the stainless steel vapor collector Re install the upper screen following the above directions Do not under any circumstance attempt to disassemble or take apart the unit Any attempt to do so may damage the internal components and will void the warranty If a repair or part replacement is necessary

9. fferent by product and a different taste since different compounds vaporize at different temperatures Experimentation and personal preference will determine what Is best for each user In addition to the internal temperature sensors that automatically shut off the power to the heating element when the desired temperature Is reached there are other Safety features to ensure that the VM3 cannot be accidentally turned on or activated For example the unit cannot be turned on unless the mouthpiece is extended Likewise the heating button will not work and the heating element cannot be energized unless the heating chamber cover is closed 10 CHARGING AND RECHARGING THE UNIT Before using the VM3 you will need to charge the unit To do so plug the charger into a standard 120 AC outlet and insert the plug from the adaptor into the charger receptacle or socket at the bottom of the VM3 When the unit is being charged both red indicator lights under the display window will be lit to indicate that the charging transformer is connected and charging is in process When the battery is fully charged the green back light on the display screen will be illuminated When the charger is removed the red indicator lights will go off To ensure that the unit is fully charged before its initial use keep the charger plugged in overnight How long the charge last will depend upon temperature settings and use The higher the temperature and t
10. he greater or more frequent the use the shorter the period of time before the unit needs to be recharged When one of the red indicator lights under the display begins to wink or the unit makes a beeping sound it indicates the battery Is low and needs to be recharged At this time the battery has only 5 7 more minutes of use When the battery is fully discharged the unit will turn itself off automatically When this happens any function including the memory of the temperature setting will disappear After recharging the unit you can reset the desired temperature following the above instructions 11 To recharge the unit as indicated above plug the charging transformer into a standard 120 AC outlet and insert the plug from the adaptor into the charger receptacle or socket at the bottom of the VM3 When the unit is being charged both red indicator lights under the display window will be lit to indicate that the charging transformer is connected and charging is in process When the battery ts fully charged the green backlight on the display screen will be illuminated When the charger is removed the red indicator lights will go off The charger can also be used to supply the power directly just as you might use a power supply directly to a cell phone or digital camera If you use the power supply in this manner the left red indicator light will stay on 12 FAQ s When I press the OFF ON power button why is no information
11. ings To remove the constituent wait until the ceramic heating chamber cools down As indicated in these instructions the heating chamber can reach a temperature as high as 280 C Therefore wait several minutes before attempting to remove it Do not attempt to remove the heating chamber immediately after using the unit since it gets very hot during the vaporization process The amount of time you have to wait for the heating chamber to cool down will depend upon the temperature you preset in the device Take your time Better safe than sorry Once the ceramic heating chamber has cooled down and is no more than warm to the touch you can remove it from the unit and remove the constituent which will appear dried out and brownish in color If any of the constituent or debris does not shake out or cannot be gently blown out it can be removed with the brush or tweezers from the cleaning kit supplied with every VM3 If using an 7 essential oil replace the cotton insert Any commercial cotton ball will work Simply roll it between your fingers to compress It into a small ball or pellet then insert it into one of the heating chambers without the mesh screen When in use the VM3 will be warm to the touch This is normal The VM3 is powered by a high capacity state of the art Lithium lon battery It takes a considerable amount of power to energize the heating element and reach the temperature necessary to vaporize the essential ing

13. redients of most herbs and tobacco Therefore always allow the VM3 to cool down after each use or session The VM3 is designed for individual use It should not be used in rapid succession To avoid any problems in this regard there is an additional internal safety mechanism that will shut off the power if the temperature of the VM3 housing or case approaches too high a temperature Always remember most herbs and botanicals contain dozens if not hundreds of different compounds each of which may vaporize at a different temperature Therefore only through practice and experimentation will you be able to determine just what you are looking for in using the constituent in question As to the temperature in the heating chamber there are sensors within the device that ensure that the desired temperature will be reached as well as not exceeded For example even though you are depressing the HEAT button if the temperature in the heating chamber is higher than the setting temperature the heating element will automatically shut down Likewise aS soon as the heating chamber temperature falls below the preset temperature the heating element will switch back on as long as you are still depressing the HEAT button When the heating element is off and not being energized the right red indicator light will be off When the heating element is energized or on the light will be on So as to accommodate the widest variety of herbal or bo
14. tanical products and different mixtures and moisture contents of botanical products and botanical extracts the VM3 is engineered to function in a temperature range of from 10 C to 280 C However most botanicals particularly tobacco and medicinal herbs will char or burn at temperatures higher than 235 C Therefore unless you are a trained herbalist or chemist do not set or use a temperature higher than 230 C which is below the ignition or burning point of the most commonly used botanicals and herbs In most cases however there is no need to use such a high temperature Volatile oils such as camphor and mint vaporize at as low as 30 60 C The ingredients in many herbs vaporize at only 100 150 C The nicotine in tobacco for example vaporizes at about 180 200 C Likewise the most common medicinal herbs vaporize at 180 210 C However as noted above a lot depends upon the moisture content of the constituent the type or blend of essential oil or botanical and the personal preferences of the user Only through experimentation can the user determine what temperature is best for a particular constituent For some herbs and botanicals two inhalations will exhaust the essential ingredients while others will require more After two or three inhalations you may be able to push the vaporization process further by increasing the temperature However pushing the process often results a slightly di
15. ting chambers mesh lined chambers for loose herbs and tobacco and cotton filled chambers for essential oils and a cleaning kit hin Hiram es FIG 1 FIG 2 GENERAL USE AND OPERATION OF THE VM3 To use the VM3 slide the mouthpiece cover into the open position Extend the mouthpiece by pressing up on the mouthpiece slide PLEASE NOTE AS A SAFETY FEATURE THE VM3 CANNOT BE TURNED ON UNLESS THE MOUTHPIECE IS EXTENDED To access the heating chamber slide the heating chamber cover up See Fig 1 The ceramic heating chamber will then be partially ejected so it can be removed See Fig 3 FIG 3 After removing the ceramic heating chamber from the unit using your fingers or the tweezers included in the cleaning kit remove the mesh lid and insert the loose tobacco or herb for simplicity often called the constituent into the heating chamber and replace the mesh lid If using an essential oil simply place a drop or two of the oil on the cotton insert in one of the essential oil heating chambers Using the mesh screens will ensure that loose tobacco or herbs do not touch the heating element or interfere with the various heating chamber components Whether using loose tobacco or herbs or essential oil begin with a small amount When it comes to vaporization less is usually better Unlike smoking where 80 90 of the essential ingredients are burned off and never absorbed by the lungs vaporization is very efficient
