1. 1501 I User Instructions Elation Professionale 4295 Charter Street Los Angeles Ca 90058 www elationlighting com Revised 5 02 IF THE POWER SUPPLY CORD IS DAMAGED IT MUST BE REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURER ITS SERVICE AGENT OR SIMILARLY QUALIFIED PERSON IN ORDER TO AVOID A HAZARD Please Note Specifications and improvements in the design of this unit and this manual are subject to change without any prior written notice Elation Lighting Los Angeles CA 90058 www elationlighting com Master Blaster 1500 Page 2 INTRODUCTION Congratulations you have just purchased one of the most innovative and reliable fog machines on the market today The Master Blaster Series commercial fog machines patented Electronic Thermal Sensing E T S for continuous heating regulation have been designed to per form reliably for years when the guidelines in this booklet are followed Please read and understand the instructions in this manual carefully and thoroughly before attempting to operate this unit These instructions contain important information regarding safety during use and maintenance UNPACKING Thank you for purchasing the Master Blaster 1500 by Elation Professional Every Master Blaster 1500 has been thoroughly tested and has been shipped in perfect operating condi tion Carefully check the shipping carton for damage that may have occurred during shipping If the carton appears to be damaged carefully inspect you2. fogger and powered on For more information on DMX operation please refer to your controllers owners manual MANUAL REMOTE CONTROL OPERATION The remote control comes attached to your fog machine but can easily be removed to access the 25ft cord The fog machine comes with a full function remote control The remote control comes connected to the unit but is easily removed by unscrewing the four thumb screws that attached it to the base of the unit The remote LCD display will indicate different functions Caution Before removing or replacing the remote unit discon nect the power supply BUTTON FUNCTIONS 1 FUN This button allows you to scroll through the menu to adjust the Interval Duration Timer Output Volume and DMX channel settings 2 TIMER This button allows you turn the timer function on and off 3 MANUAL This button allows you to override any setting and manually burst full output for as long as you press and hold the button VOLUME This button activates a constant flow of fog 5 UP and DOWN These buttons are used to set the values of the different functions i e Volume Timer output Duration Interval and DMX channel 6 LCD Display This will display the fogger current mode function and value setting iN FUNC TIMER MANUAL LCD Display Master Blaster 1500 Remote Control VOLUME UP DOWN REMOTE FUNCTIONS At start up the fogger will run a self test and display ELATIO

ER button to turn the automatic timer on and off Volume 1 When activated this function will give you a constant steady flow of fog from a small stream to a large burst depending on the value that has been preset by you 2 To turn the volume function on simply press the volume button Press again to shut off 3 To set the volume value A Press the FUN button until you reach Volume B Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the volume output from 1 to 100 1 will give you an output of almost nothing 100 will give you maximum output C The volume can also be adjusted when in the volume mode simply press the UP and DOWN buttons to achieve your desired output TROUBLE SHOOTING AND SERVICE If you experience low fog output pump noise or no fog output at all disconnect and discontinue use immediately Do not attempt to continue push ing the remote control s activation button as this may damage the fog machine Check fluid level the external fuse or breaker remote connection and be sure the wall outlet is sending power If all of the above appear to be okay and the unit fails to operate correctly the unit will require service Return the machine to an American DJe authorized dealer or service center Elation Lighting Los Angeles CA 90058 www elationlighting com Master Blaster 1500 Page 6 2 YEAR 730 DAYS LIMITED WARRANTY A Elation hereby warrants to the original purchaser Elation products to be free of manufactur

N in the LCD for approximately two 2 seconds During Warm Up the Display will indicate this function During this time you will be able to make any time and volume adjustments but the fogger will have no out put When Ready to fog the display will indicate Fogger Ready in the LCD Interval 1 This function allows you to set the time interval between fog burst in timer mode from 1 second to 200 seconds Elation Lighting Los Angeles CA 90058 www elationlighting com Master Blaster 1500 Page 5 2 To set the interval press the FUN button until you reach Interval Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the time Duration 1 This function allows you to set the time the fog will burst when in the timer mode 2 You can adjust the time the fogger will burst from one second to 200 seconds 3 To set the duration press the FUN button until you reach Duration Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the time Timer Output 1 This function allows you to set the output volume of fog that will burst when in the timer mode 2 You can adjust the output of the fogger from 1 almost no output to 100 full output 3 To set the output amount press the FUN button until you reach Timer Out Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the output volume from 1 to 100 Timer 1 This Function allows you to set the fogger on an automatic setting You can set the Interval Duration and Timer Output as described above 2 Use the TIM

8. e an must reheat You will have approximately 30 seconds of fog burst before the unit has to recycle and reheat Do not continue to push the remote output but ton as this may severely damage your unit You can also operate the fog output automatically by using the timer settings on the remote see Manual Remote Control Operation Elation Lighting Los Angeles CA 90058 www elationlighting com Master Blaster 1500 Page 4 DMX OPERATION The Master Blaster 1500 is DMX compatible and may be triggered with a stan dard DMX controller such as the American DJe Show Designer or DMX Operator After the unit has warmed to the proper operating temperature UMXSi Apg 1 will display in the remote s LCD indicate the unit is ready to emit fog on DMX channel one 1 To emit fog activate DMX channel one 1 on your DMX controller Fog output will depend on the DMX value assigned to channel one 1 A DMX value of zero 0 will give you no output and DMX value of 255 will give you maximum out put Fog will continue to emit as long as you apply a DMX value to channel one 1 or until the heater reaches the end of it s cycle an must reheat You will have approximately 30 seconds of fog burst before the unit has to recycle and reheat Do not continue to push the remote output button as this may severely damage your unit You may change the DMX address by pressing the UP and DOWN while a DMX controller is connected to the
9. ger dry of liquid Always maintain an ample supply of fog juice in the fluid reservoir e Always replace the fuse with exact same type unless otherwise specified to do so by an authorized Elatione technician e Do not use oil based fog liquid FUNCTIONS The new MASTER BLASTER 1500 fog machine comes with E T S for continu ous heating regulation The MASTER BLASTER 1500 operates via a 25 foot wired remote control that comes mounted into the unit The remote may be removed by unscrewing the four 4 thumb screws that hold it to the base The unit also contains a removable one gallon reservoir The unit is DMX compatible and may be linked through a DMX controller via XLR connectors ELECTRONIC THERMAL SENSING E T S This feature allows you to have fog output available at almost any time A small on board micro processor constantly monitors the operating temperature of the fog machine When the fog machine drops one degree in temperature the E T S automatically senses this change and turns the heater on to raise the temperature that one degree lost This allows you to have fog output at anytime The only time fog will not be available is at the end of the machines duty cycle Fog output was maximized and the heater has to reheat complete ly OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS SET UP Plug your fog machine into a standard 110V 120V supply Make sure there is an adequate supply of Elation Fog Juice in the fluid reservoir Running the fog
10. ing defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year 365 days from the date of purchase This warranty shall be valid only if the product is purchased within the United States of America including possessions and territories It is the owner s responsibility to establish the date and place of purchase by acceptable evidence at the time service is sought B For warranty service send the product only to the Elation factory All shipping charges must be pre paid If the requested repairs or service including parts replacement are within the terms of this warranty Elation will pay return shipping charges only to a designated point within the United States If the entire instrument is sent it must be shipped in its original package No accessories should be shipped with the product If any accessories are shipped with the product Elation shall have no liability whatsoever for loss of or damage to any such accessories nor for the safe return thereof C This warranty is void if the serial number has been altered or removed if the product is modified in any manner which Elation concludes after inspection affects the reliability of the product if the product has been repaired or serviced by anyone other than the Elation factory unless prior written authorization was issued to purchaser by Elation if the product is damaged because not properly maintained as set forth in the instruction manual D This is not a service co
11. machine dry will cause pump failure and or clogging This is the largest cause of failure in fog machines Once the machine is plugged in and turned on a red L E D on the power switch will indicated the unit is receiving power The unit has a warm up time of ten 10 minutes and during this time Warming UP will display in the remote s LCD To prime the unit for operation press and hold down the green MANUAL button for 30 seconds If fog does not emit from the nozzle after holding down the green MANUAL button for 30 seconds check the fluid tank and hose to make sure there is fluid going through the hose If fluid is not traveling through the system try one more 30 second burst If fluid still seems not to be travel ing through the system unplug your unit and return it to your dealer for inspection Do not continue to push the remote output button as this may severely damage your unit Note Only Elation Fog Juice is recommended and not all fog juice is created equal use of fog juice other than Elatione brand may cause clogging and or damage the unit and will void your man ufacture warranty MANUAL OPERATION After the unit has warmed to the proper operating temperature READY TO FOS will display in the remote s LCD indicate the unit is ready to emit fog To emit fog simply press the green MANUAL button Fog will continue to emit as long as you hold down the button or until the heater reaches the end of it s cycl
12. ntract and this warranty does not include maintenance cleaning or peri odic check up During the period specified above Elation will replace defective parts at its expense and will absorb all expenses for warranty service and repair labor by reason of defects in material or workmanship The sole responsibility of Elation under this warranty shall be limited to the repair of the product or replacement thereof including parts at the sole discretion of Elation All products covered by this warranty were manufactured after January 1 1990 and bear identifying marks to that effect E Elation reserves the right to make changes in design and or improvements upon its products without any obligation to include these changes in any products theretofore manufactured F No warranty whether expressed or implied is given or made with respect to any accessory sup plied with products described above Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law all implied warranties made by Elation in connection with this product including warranties of merchantability or fitness are limited in duration to the warranty period set forth above And no warranties whether expressed or implied including warranties of merchantability or fitness shall apply to this product after said period has expired The consumer s and or Dealer s sole remedy shall be such repair or replacement as is expressly provided above and under no circumstances shall Elation be
