1. 1 Remove the 2 screws from the Phone Contact Plate on the back of the phone and remove the plate keeping the screws as they will be needed 2 Replace the Phone Contact Plate with the Ridged Plate see below supplied and screw into place into the back of the phone with the screws removed from the Phone Contact Plate Ridged plate P N AT8434A Diagram 2 Setting up the AT3082A AdvanceCommunicator 1 Place the AdvanceCommunicator in a convenient position within easy reach of an AC power outlet 2 Attach the plug at the end of the coil cord of the handset into the corresponding RJ45 handset receptacle on the back of the AdvanceCommunicator 3 Plug the power supply into the wall AC power outlet and the round barrel plug at the end of the cord of the power supply into the corresponding power receptacle on the back of the AdvanceCommunicator 4 Atthis point the LED will flash RED Installing the portable into the AdvanceCommunicator 1 Plug the two 2 pin connector into the corresponding socket of the left bottom side of the AdvanceCommunicator 2 Pin into AdvanceCommunicator USB Connector gt lt Audio Connector 2 Remove the rubber protective cover from the connector receptacle covering the micro USB connector on the left side of the handset handset facing you and align the micro USB connector at the end on the one cable and insert the connector into the handset with the cable facing2. DOWN 3 Remove the rubber protective cover from the connector receptacle covering the audio connector on the right side of the handset handset facing you and align the pin connector at the end of the other cable and insert the connector into the handset with the cable facing UP 4 Insert the bottom of the handset behind the ridge on the cradle and press the top of the handset back into the Cradle until it snaps into place Turn the Handset on To remove the handset from the Cradle press the release button on the top of the cradle The Handset will snap forward out of the cradle oO Making and Receiving calls in Hands Free Mode 1 To make a call in Hands free mode dial the desired number on the phone keypad and press SEND GREEN BUTTON Speak towards the Microphone which is situated on the bottom right corner of the AdvanceCommunicator 3 2 The voice of the person you are calling will be heard via the built in speaker in the AdvanceCommunicator 3 To receive a call in Hands free mode press SEND GREEN BUTTON on the phone or press shortly on the PTT Space bar and speak towards the Microphone The caller s voice will be heard via the built in speaker in the AdvanceCommunicator 4 To end a call in hands free mode press the END RED button on the phone Making and Receiving calls via the Handset 1 To make a call using the AdvanceCommunicator Handset dial the desired number on the phone s keypad and press S

END GREEN button Use the handset as you would with a regular desktop phone 2 To receive a call with the Handset lift the Handset and press the SEND GREEN button on the phone s keypad Use the handset as you would with a regular desktop phone 3 To end a call while using the handset place the handset back into the cradle and press the END RED button on the phone Use of the AdvanceCommunicator with Dispatch calls 1 To answer a dispatch call in Hands free mode press and hold down the PTT Space Bar and speak towards the Microphone 2 To answer a dispatch call using the handset pick up the handset press and hold down the round PTT button on the back of the Handset and speak into the handset as you would with a regular desktop phone 3 To hear the other party in a dispatch call release the PTT Space bar in Hands free mode or the round PTT handset button if using the Handset Volume Control The volume of the AdvanceCommunicator can be increased or lowered with the volume buttons on the side of the phone Recording Feature 1 The AdvanceCommunicator will allow the recording of audio traffic with an external recording device via a 3 5mm plug on the back of the AdvanceCommunicator 2 Dispatch calls will be recorded both audio in and audio out 3 Cellular calls will be recorded audio in and audio out Summary of LED Indicators Flashing RED Phone not connected to the Base Steady RED Phone is connected to

6. the Base with power OFF Steady GREEN Phone connected with power ON Charging the battery With the portable turned off the AdvanceCommunicator will charge the battery to 60 in approximately 1 hour The charge time will be longer if the portable is operational during charge time NOTE Batteries of the portable will charge within the temperature window of 10 C to 40 C 50 F to 104 F If the battery is outside this temperature window no charge current will be supplied to the battery Optional Extras The following optional extras are available to compliment the AdvanceCommunicator 1 Palm Mic Part AT8428A 1 To use a Palm Mic with the AdvanceCommunicator unplug the privacy handset supplied with the unit and remove it from its cradle and plug the RJ45 connector of the Palm Mic into the corresponding RJ45 receptacle on back of the AdvanceCommunicator 2 Once connected the pressing of the switch on the Palm Mic will activate the Palm Mic 2 Headset Part AT8421A 1 To use the Headset with the AdvanceCommunicator unplug the privacy handset supplied with the unit and remove it from its cradle and plug the RJ45 connector of the Headset into the corresponding RJ45 receptacle on back of the AdvanceCommunicator 2 Once connected audio will be transferred to the Headset 3 PTT calls can be made with the PTT Space Bar or the PTT button on the cable on the Headset 3 Foot Pedal P
