IMPORTANT YOUR COOKER HOOD SHOULD BE CONNECTED TO YOUR MAINS SUPPLY AFTER THE REST OF THE INSTALLATION PROCESS HAS BEEN COMPLETED 1 Remove the grease filters as previously described 2 Locate the hook at the back of the glass panel Use this to hang the glass at the front of the hood Screw a ST4 8 screw from inside the hood to secure the glass WARNING Ensure the screw is fully tightened and the glass is firmly attached before continuing with the installation 2 Position the hood against the wall that you are intending to install it on and mark the position of the screw holes that are to be drilled 21 PLEASE NOTE The cooker hood should be placed at a minimum distance of 70 cm from the cooking surface below 3 Drill the screw holes in the wall on the positions that you have marked in step 2 Insert rawl plugs into all of the holes that you have drilled and then fasten the support screws halfway in leaving them 10 mm out of the wall 4 Hang the hood onto the support screws and fully tighten the screws HHHHI E HHI 22 5 Screw the anchoring screws through the relevant holes in the cooker hood Fully tighten the anchoring screws into the wall Connecting to external ducting O O O Connect the coupling to the top of the cooker hood and then connect a 125 mm ducting hose to the coupling please note that the ducting hose is not supplied with the appliance The other end of t
3. cooker hood is not working effectively o The fan speed is not set high enough o The grease filters are dirty and require cleaning o The kitchen is not well ventilated enough o If the hood is set up for recirculation mode check that the carbon filters do not need replacing o Ifthe hood is set up for extraction mode check that the ducting hose and discharge outlet are not blocked D My cooker hood has switched off during operation o The safety cut out device has been tripped o Turn off the hob and then wait for the safety cut out device to reset o IMPORTANT If you have installed your cooker hood too low the safety cut out device will frequently trip Your cooker hood may become damaged if the safety cut out device is tripped frequently 24 IMPORTANT If your appliance appears not to be operating correctly then you should disconnect it from your mains supply and then contact the Service Department on telephone number 1800 444 357 DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE APPLIANCE YOURSELF Please note that if an engineer is asked to attend whilst the product is under guarantee and finds that the problem is not the result of an appliance fault then you may be liable for the cost of the call out charge The appliance must be accessible for the engineer to perform any necessary repair If your appliance is installed in such a way that an engineer is concerned that damage will be caused to the appliance or your kitchen

5. handle and pulling it away from the cooker hood ta N u N X A a AA y iy Y pa ro SA as ba en gt SI o a e e 14 o Soak the grease filter in hot water and washing up liquid for at least 3 minutes Then use a soft brush to loosen any grease deposits that have formed o Rinse the grease filter off thoroughly with hot water o Repeat the process if required o Refit the grease filter once it has dried o IMPORTANT Let the grease filter dry thoroughly before refitting it in the cooker hood 15 Changing a light bulb IMPORTANT BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE A LIGHT BULB YOU MUST ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE DISCONNECTED THE COOKER HOOD FROM YOUR MAINS SUPPLY o Prior to touching the light bulbs ensure that they have cooled down o Find the bulb that requires replacement you will find it located in the light fixture which is inside the exposed section of the canopy GA 0W max o Use a screwdriver to remove the glass cover that sits over the bulb Unplug the light bulb that needs to be replaced and insert a new G4 20W max bulb Then replace the glass cover o IMPORTANT Defective bulbs should be replaced immediately 16 o If the lights still do not work make sure that the bulbs are fitted properly into their housings before you call for technical assistance Fitting the carbon filters If the appliance is to be used in recirculation mode then it is necessary to fit carbon

9. en there should also be space to connect a ducting hose to the outside o Carry out all necessary masonry work prior to the fitting of the cooker hood o Ensure that all electrical connections are carried out by a suitably qualified person o Before commencing installation of the cooker hood the grease filter should be removed o Check inside the product and ensure that there is no transit packaging or any other materials such as packets of screws guarantees etc These should be removed and kept for future use o If possible disconnect and move freestanding or slot in cookers from their position to provide easier access to the rear wall and ceiling If this is not possible then a thick protective covering Should be placed over the worktop hob top or cooker This will help to protect these surfaces from damage and debris o Select a flat surface for assembling the cooker hood Cover that Surface with a protective covering and place all cooker hood parts and fittings on it 19 o In addition check whether there is an electrical socket available which will be accessible after the hood is mounted If you are going to use the appliance in extractor mode you should also ensure that there is space to connect a fumes discharge device to the outside o Rawl plugs are provided to secure the hood to most types of walls and ceilings However a qualified technician must verify the suitability of the materials in accordance with the
10. he ducting hose should be connected to a discharge outlet that is suitable for cooking vapours It should have a cross section of at least 150 cm2 The maximum distance between the coupling and your discharge outlet should be 3 metres with one 90 degree bend For each additional 90 degree bend the maximum distance is reduced by a further metre Completing the installation O O If you are setting the appliance to recirculation mode then you should now fit the two carbon filters See the Fitting the carbon filters section on page 17 The electrical connection must correspond to the electrical requirement noted on the rating plate which is placed inside the cooker hood The appliance should now be connected to the electrical supply See page 18 19 for detailed information on the electrical connection Use a stainless steel cleaner and polish on the stainless steel sections of the appliance o Refit the grease filters and then switch on the mains supply to the appliance Check that the appliance is 23 operating correctly by selecting each speed and switching the light bulbs on and off Troubleshooting IMPORTANT If your cooker hood appears not to be operating properly before contacting the Service Department please refer to the checklist below D My cooker hood will not start o Check that the hood is connected to the electricity supply o Check that the fan speed control is set correctly D My
11. mmed from 5 60 minutes The cooker hood will automatically stop working after this set time is reached To programme a working time press the timer button once The LCD display will show 05 00 Press the speed button repeatedly to increase the working time by one minute To reduce the working time by one minute press the lamp button Once the desired working time has been selected press the timer button once to confirm the setting The LCD display will begin the countdown and will show the remaining working time Once the desired time has been reached the cooker hood will automatically stop working and the set time of day will be displayed 12 o The next time you use the cooker hood and press the timer button once the timer will automatically programme the last set working time IMPORTANT The timer does not control the hob illumination This must always be switched off manually IMPORTANT IDEALLY YOU SHOULD SWITCH ON YOUR HOOD TEN MINUTES BEFORE YOU START TO COOK OR AT THE VERY LEAST WHEN YOU BEGIN COOKING YOU SHOULD ALSO RUN YOUR HOOD FOR TEN MINUTES AFTER YOU HAVE FINISHED COOKING Cleaning your Baumatic cooker hood IMPORTANT BEFORE CLEANING ALWAYS ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE SWITCHED YOUR u COOKER HOOD OFF AT THE OMNI POLAR i SWITCH SET AT THE WALL FROM THE CABLE Cleaning o Clean the external parts of your cooker hood with mild liquid detergent and a new damp cloth o Never use abrasi
12. nd hold the timer button until the minute digits of the LED display flash o Use the speed selection button to increase the minute number shown on the LED display or the light ON OFF button to decrease the minute number shown on the LED display o If 59 appears on the LED display the speed selection will no longer operate and if OO appears on the LED display the light ON OFF button will no longer operate o When the correct minute digits appear on the LED display press the timer button for a third time to confirm the time of day 11 Switching the cooker hood on and setting the fan speed O Press the ON OFF button to switch the cooker hood on Use the speed selection button to regulate the speed that the motor is running at The motor will run at the following speeds One push Low speed Two pushes Medium speed Three pushes High speed If you press the speed selection button for a fourth time then the motor will return to running at low speed To switch the cooker hood off press the ON OFF button When you next switch the hood on it will remember the speed that it was running at when it was last used Using the light O O Press the lamp button once and the hob illumination switches on Press the lamp button again to switch off the hob illumination Using the timer function O When the hood is not being used a desired working time of the appliance can be set The timer can be progra

17. type of wall and ceiling The wall and ceiling must be strong enough to take the weight of the hood o Do not tile grout or silicone this appliance to the wall This appliance is designed to be surface mounted only Extraction mode or recirculation mode IT IN EXTRACTION MODE OR RECIRCULATION MODE lt What is the difference between extraction and recirculation modes In extraction mode the stale air will be taken out of the room via external ducting In recirculation mode stale air is taken via the grease filters and passed through a charcoal filter for purification The air then re enters the kitchen via an opening in the hood For optimum performance we recommend that the cooker hood is used in extraction mode and connected to external ducting Unfortunately if you live in a flat or the hood is too far from an outside wall this may not be possible The only alternative is to recirculate the air Do I need a charcoal filter All cooker hoods have grease filters but if you are using your cooker hood in recirculation mode then a charcoal filter must be fitted in addition to the grease filters 20 Installing your cooker hood o We recommend that at least two people install this hood o Please note that the styles of cooker hood shown in the line drawings in the following pages are sometimes different to the shape of the BH6BGL However the installation method shown is correct and MUST be followed
18. ulating the minimum height of the cooker hood when installed Using your cooker hood OO DE T mer button O jaa E 3 2 IL TE Q a O jaa 2 peed selection button o Make sure that it has been installed by a suitably qualified person as per the information contained in Baumatic s installation instructions 10 o Find the control panel which is located in the middle of the canopy o There are several buttons on the control panel which perform separate functions IMPORTANT IDEALLY YOU SHOULD TURN ON YOUR HOOD TEN MINUTES BEFORE YOU START TO COOK OR AT THE VERY LEAST WHEN YOU BEGIN COOKING YOU SHOULD ALSO RUN YOUR HOOD FOR TEN MINUTES AFTER YOU HAVE FINISHED COOKING Setting the time of day IMPORTANT After the cooker hood is connected to the power supply the time of day should be set However it is only possible to set the time if the light is not switched on and the cooker hood fan is not running o Press and hold the timer button until the hour digits of the LED display flash o Use the speed selection button to increase the hour number shown on the LED display or the light ON OFF button to decrease the hour number shown on the LED display o If 23 appears on the LED display the speed selection will no longer operate and if OO appears on the LED display the light ON OFF button will no longer operate o When the correct hour digits appear on the LED display press a
19. ve powder corrosive solvents or brushes o Never insert pointed objects into the motor s protective grid o Only clean the control panel and grease filter grill with mild liquid detergents and a new damp cloth o If you are using the appliance in recirculation mode then be sure to replace the carbon filter at the recommended interval see section on Fitting the carbon filter A build up of grease could cause a fire hazard o Never attempt to clean the area above the grease filters o IMPORTANT You should regularly use a good quality stainless steel cleaner to maintain the shine and finish on the stainless steel areas of your cooker hood o This will help to leave a silicone water resistant film to protect the stainless steel surfaces and keep them in good condition for the life of the product 13 The grease filter o Your cooker hood includes a grease filter which helps to absorb grease particles to protect your kitchen and furniture from greasy residues o This aluminium filter may become inflammable if it becomes saturated with this greasy residue o To prevent this fire hazard the filter should be cleaned regularly Depending on use this should be done every 10 15 days or at least once a month using hot water and normal washing up detergent o DO NOT WASH THE GREASE FILTER IN A DISHWASHER Maintenance Removing and cleaning the grease filter o First remove the grease filter by pulling down on the
