1. and knowledge unless they have been given supervision for instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance DO NOT COVER THE SURFACES OF THE HEATER AND DO NOT OBSTRUCT AIR OUTLET GRILLES Surfaces of the heater should not be covered or obstructed as this can cause excessive temperatures that can be hazardous and may cause safety cut outs to operate For example do not put clothes fabrics or any combustible materials on the heater or allow curtains to come within 250mm 10 of the top of the heater and 75mm 3 of the ends of the heater and do not allow furniture to be pushed up against the heater or any obstruction to be placed on the floor within 300mm of the front of the heater and 75mm of each side see diagram DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MOVE THE HEATER YOUR STORAGE HEATER IS VERY HEAVY For safety in use the heater must be securely fixed to a sound wall and specialist advice must be sought before moving If you are not happy that the heater has been securely fixed please inform your installer DO NOT SIT OR STAND ON THE HEATER DO NOT SPILL LIQUIDS ONTO THE APPLIANCE IF YOU DO SWITCH THE HEATER OFF AND GET A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN TO CHECK IT e DO NOT POKE OBJECTS THROUGH THE GRILLE OR VENTILATION SLOTS e DO NOT USE POLISHES ON THE HEATER OR ON FURNITURE NEAR TO IT Pat e The hot interior of the heater can produce2. paraffin smells from polish vapours which may last fora 77 number of hours DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE HEATER YOURSELF In case of breakdown or other failure switch off the heater at the wall switch and consult your supplier local electricity company or Creda Heating Always ensure that the heater is switched off at the wall switch and the fuse removed before any repair is carried out Creda TSR Fanned Combi heaters store heat on the off peak tariff and discharge the stored heat gradually throughout the day In addition to the storage heater function the Fanned Combi heater has a fan heater fitted below the storage heater that allows you to boost the normal output coping with sudden changes in weather Also in summer when the storage heater part has been switched off you can use the fan heater for heat on an occasional chilly day Note that the fan heater uses normal price electricity and will therefore be more expensive to run than the storage heater alone FIRST HEATING OF A NEW HEATER The new heater will give off a smell It is recommended the dispersion of this smell should be accelerated by running the heater straight up to its maximum temperature whatever the prevailing weather Set the Input control knob to the maximum setting of 6 and the Output control knob to the maximum setting of 6 and run the heater like this for two nights The instructions to the installer of your heater mentions this and he will probably set it for
3. you The smell is normally harmless in a ventilated room and if possible a window should be left open during the overnight charging periods Caged birds young children and people with chest ailments are best kept out of the room during the first period USING YOUR HEATER Your heater will be one of two types either one with automatic control of the overnight charge or alternatively one on which you adjust this manually from time to time If necessary check which heater you have by looking at the model number located on the wall fixing angle Heaters with model numbers 75772001S 75772002S or 75772003S are automatic heaters all other heaters require manual adjustment The heaters store heat overnight while the cost of Economy 7 electricity is cheaper and discharge the heat gradually throughout the following day CONTROLS There are two control knobs located under the lockable flap at the right hand corner of the Output Input top panel Think of these as input storage charge and output room temperature for fan y 5 heater 5 1 5 1 NOTE If during any reassembly of the heater a part of the thermal insulation shows damage ee or tis or deterioration which may impair safety it should be replaced by an identical part SHELVES A shelf positioned above the heater will enable this space to be used because as described earlier it is not safe to place anything actually on the heater itself Also a shelf will cut down the dust streakin

5. g on the wall which sometimes results from the warm air rising from wall mounted radiators of all types A purpose built range of shelves to suit the TSR Combi heaters are available from your heater stockists or direct from Creda Heating 3 4kW heater shelf pack 79062 2 6kW heater shelf pack 79052 1 7kW heater shelf pack 79042 MANUAL INPUT CONTROL The amount of heat stored is determined by your manual adjustment of the knob marked INPUT The knob is also marked with numbers 1 to 6 setting 1 giving the least overnight charge and setting 6 giving the maximum overnight charge It would be a mistake to try to follow the varying outdoor weather changes by daily adjustment of the knob and it is best rather to follow these seasonal changes Start with Autumn say with a setting of 1 or 2 and gradually increase the setting as the Winter comes on frosts etc Reverse the pattern as Winter turns into Spring AUTOMATIC INPUT CONTROL After 48 hours of running at maximum control settings the heater can now be adjusted to operate at its optimum performance Please use the following instructions as a guide 1 In the early afternoon to early evening say between the hours of 2pm and 8pm turn the input control knob fully anti clockwise until the minimum stop position is achieved then turn the knob slowly clockwise until an audible click is heard leave the control at this setting This will allow the heater to take on an overnight charge 2 On the fo
6. in the siting for different heaters in rooms each heater needs to be set individually and the finally chosen input control knob settings may be different in different rooms SUGGESTIONS FOR OVERNIGHT SETTINGS COMBI OUTPUT This is the left hand knob under the flap This is the room temperature thermostat controlling the heat delivered to your room by the fan heater The fan heater uses normal price electricity There is a red indicator on the bottom section of the heater front panel which illuminates when the fan heater is on FAN HEATER SAFETY CUT OUT The fan heater element has a safety cut out fitted which will operate to turn off the heater element if the airflow is restricted If the cut out oper ates you will find the fan and direct heater will stop Autumn Spring Charge knob setting 3 Charge knob setting 4 6 Two suggested ways of using the output control are 1 Leave it at minimum until the evening then turn it up to a setting that will give you a comfortable condition the higher the setting the higher the room temperature Turn it back to minimum at bed time 2 Choose some intermediate setting say 2 to 4 which gives you the pattern of heating which suits you and leave the knob at this setting The higher the setting the more normal price electricity you may use Remember that reducing the input setting will store less energy Therefore more energy will be required from the fan heater if weathe
7. llowing evening at around the time when you would normally be retiring to bed judge the temperature of the room not the heater If the room is warm enough carefully touch the top of the heaters side panel this should be cool to the touch i e heater discharged If the side panel is still hot or quite warm carefully reduce the Input Control Knob setting by a very small amount On the following evening again judge whether the room is warm enough when you retire to bed together with the temperature at the top of the side panel If however when you retire to bed after initially setting the Input Control to the click the room is too cool and the temperature at the top of the side panel is cold increase by a very small amount the Input Control setting repeat as necessary over the next two or three days Remember you need sufficient heat to be stored overnight in the core when it has finished charging to last through the day so that by the end of the day virtually all of the heat has been used up 3 Persevere with this procedure until you are satisfied with the temperature of your rooms Due to the nature of the Auto Heater once set up correctly the input control can be left undisturbed and the heater will charge each night automatically following exactly the outdoor weather conditions even to the point of off when summer arrives The heater surfaces will of course vary according to the weather and the amount of heat stored Because of variations
