3. damaging the surface of the unit INTERIOR The Whynter HZB 22SA ice maker is equipped with a Self Clean program that ensures your ice is clean and fresh by removing scales and impurities This program works the same as the ice making process only without the freezing 1 Unplug the unit 2 Remove the ice basket 3 Create a one part vinegar to 10 parts water solution and pour the solution into the water reservoir 4 Plug the unit press and hold the CLEAN button for 3 seconds The unit will automatically enter the self clean program which will take about 5 6 minutes During this process the icon and Wil be displayed in LCD window and the fan blade in the icon will always rotate This process will rinse the inside parts for several times 5 After self clean program is completed drain out the water by loosening the drain cap and unplugging the rubber drain plug on the side Install the rubber drain plug once the water reservoir is empty 6 Unplug the unit add fresh water into water reservoir up to water level mark 7 Plug in the unit and initiate self clean program again Once the program completes drain out the wa ter 8 Dry the interior and exterior with a soft and clean cloth 9 Install the rubber drain plug and tighten the drain cap NOTE When using the unit for the first time or have not used for a long time we suggest the above program to be performed first TROUBLESHOOTING e The compressor works ab e

6. cycle ends you may hear a gurgling sound due to the refrigerant flowing in your ice mak er You may hear air being forced over the condenser by the condenser fan During the harvest cycle you may hear the sound of ice cubes falling into the ice basket POWER FAILURE Most power failures are corrected within a few hours and should not affect the temperature of your ice maker if you minimize the number of times the ice maker cover is opened Ifthe power is going to be OFF for a longer period of time you need to take the proper steps to disconnect your appliance Failure to un plug the ice maker could result in electrical shock or personal injury 8 CARE AND MAINTENANCE CAUTION Failure to unplug the ice maker could result in electrical shock or personal injury DRAINING YOUR ICE MAKER Follow the steps below to drain the unit 1 Carefully move the unit towards a sink or other suitable loca tion for draining 2 Remove the drain cap and rubber drain plug located at the left side of the ice maker to drain all the water 3 Letthe water drain from the drain plug fik sta the 4 Firmly install the rubber drain plug into the drain port WARNING Do not tip the unit over while there is water in the reservoir CLEANING YOUR ICE MAKER OUTSIDE The outside of the ice maker should be cleaned regularly with a mild detergent solution warm water and use the soft cloth to wipe Do not use hard cloth to avoid scratching or

8. hortage of water and will stop the ice making cycle The water indicator will then start flashing Press the ON OFF button to turn off the unit and fill the reservoir with water Press the ON OFF button again to restart the ice making cycle or wait 3 minutes after the water indicator stops flashing as the ice maker will begin it s normal operation cycle automati Cally When the ice cubes reach the ice full sensor the ice maker will stop operating and the ICE FULL indicator vi be displayed Change water in the water reservoir every 24 hours to ensure a reasonable hygiene level If unit is not in use drain all water left in the tank INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS e NOTE This ice maker produces 12 ice cubes every cycle of 10 to 15 minutes approximately depending on the size of cube is selected When the ambient temperature is lower than 59 F the small ice cube size is recommended to avoid ice cubes clumping together For best performance water temperature should be between 55 F and 85 F and ambient temperature between 65 F and 77 F e NOTE The ice basket does not keep the ice cubes frozen The ice in the basket will slowly melt and the water will drip to the water reservoir and reused TIMER SETTING INSTRUCTIONS TIMER DELAY SWITCH ON When the ice maker is OFF press the Timer button on the control panel and La will flash in the Timer Set display window Set the desired time delay ON hours by pressing

12. r cord IMPORTANT Do not install the Ice maker near an oven radiator or other heat source SPACE REQUIREMENTS During transportation the incline angle of the cabinet should not be over 45 Do not turn the Ice Maker upside down Problems could occur in the compressor and sealed system The Ice maker should be placed horizontally on a properly leveled surface To ensure proper ventilation for your Ice maker allow 6 of space at the back and on each side Before using the Ice maker for the first time please wait 4 hours after positioning it Clean the ice shovel ice basket water reservoir and ice scoop frequently OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1 Open the top cover and remove the ice basket 2 Remove any dust or objects that may be in the water tank 3 Fill the water tank up to the line marked a N a Fill with potable or drinking water only 4 5 Select desired ice cube size by pressing the Size Selector Small Medium or Large Water will be pumped from the water reservoir to the water tray under the freezing bars The freezing bars will start freezing Once the freezing process is completed the freezing bars will heat up to drop the ice cubes Then the ice shovel will push the ice cubes down to the ice basket When the unit is used for the first time discard the first couple batches of ice The ice maker will automatically check the water level in the reservoir periodically it will de s tect any s
