1. Apply supplied grease to black shroud highlighted in yellow at right then follow backing plate installation instructions noted in section 6 OPTIONAL HANDLE ATTACHMENT ACCESSORIES THE BOSS features two optional handle configurations available for individual purchase Disconnect the power tool plug from the power prior to handle attachment installation D Handle This handle may offer additional user control and comfort It features energy dampening rubber grips and silicone energy dampening bushings Remove black plug inserts from Side Handle Mounts and screw handle into place Installing D Handle a Remove both threaded black caps on opposing sides by turning counter clockwise using a wide flat bladed screwdriver b Firmly grasp both sides of D Handle Attachment and slide over Side Handle Mounts c Carefully thread supplied Allen bolts using supplied Allen wrench Prior to tightening select desired handle position d Tighten Allen bolts with supplied Allen wrench Right Angle Handle This handle may be installed on either side of the tool depending on user preference for added control and comfort It features an energy dampening rubber grip Installing Right Angle Handle a Select handle position and remove black cap by turning counterclockwise using a wide flathead screwdriver b Thread Right Angle Handle attachment into machine and securely tighten 9 BOSS Accessories BOSS Buffing Pads and Accessories

4. taped off using Professional Masking Tape for protection from incidental engagement with backing plate and or pad A CAUTION Disconnect tool from power source It is recommended that the supplied Allen key wrench is used to ensure the backing plate Allen bolt is secure prior to each use A CAUTION Make certain the Variable Trigger Throttle is in the Off position and the power source is the same as specified on the tool s nameplate a Connect the tool to the power source b Select the appropriate speed The tool s maximum speed is adjusted by turning the Variable Speed Dial Maximum Speed will be limited to the soeed shown on the Variable Speed Dial When the Variable Trigger Throttle is actuated the sweep of the trigger increases the speed of the machine incrementally from zero to the preset maximum c For paint correction a speed setting of 4 or 5 is recommended For application of waxes and sealants a speed setting of 2 or 3 is recommend The 1 setting sets the maximum speed at 1 800 orbits per minute Setting 6 puts the max speed at 5 000 orbits per minute d Hold the power tool in front and away from your body Be sure the pad is resting on the vehicle surface before starting the power tool e Pull the Variable Trigger Throttle to start the motor The more you pull the trigger the faster the motor will run Release the Variable Trigger Throttle to stop motor f The Trigger Lock Button located on the left side of t

7. any accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools d Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair shop using only identical replacement parts This will ensure the safety of the power tool is maintained Failure To Start a Should your tool fail to start check to make sure the prongs on the cord plug are making good contact within the outlet Also check for blown fuses or open circuit breakers in the line b If power tool persists in not starting unplug and inspect motor brushes for excessive wear Replace if necessary c Inspect power cord for cuts or shorts Should excessive wear be identified contact Griot s Garage for replacement cords and or service Brush Replacement Brushes are wear items and normal wear is not covered under warranty The power tool comes with a spare set of replacement brushes a Remove Brush Side Port plugs from both sides of tool using a small flathead screwdriver turning counter clockwise b Grasp brass brush pressure plates and retrieve brushes from tool Discard appropriately c Install replacement brushes into brush port d Insert the Brush Side Port plug and rotate clockwise by hand e Tighten Brush Side Port plug using the flathead screwdriver Do not overtighten Lubrication THE BOSS tool comes pre lubricated at the backing plate to shroud contact point This area should be lubricated every 100 hours of operation to ensure smooth operation and a long service life

11. ional Should increased defect removal be desired spacing backing plate away from rubber shroud will induce faster pad rotation Remove backing plate and insert supplied washer in between backing plate hub and tool output shaft Ensure backing plate hub is aligned with output shaft Then follow backing plate installation instructions Installing BOSS Buffing Pad And Usage Recommendations a Inspect pad micro fiber or foam prior to installation b A CAUTION DO NOT use torn or worn out pads c Unplug power tool prior to buffing pad installation d Center pad on backing plate and press firmly around pad e Never run machine when pad is not resting on the vehicle s surface f Frequent cleaning of buffing pad is essential to reduce product build up which can potentially lead to excessive pad weight and a subsequent increase in vibration Pad Maintenance a Remove pad from machine and pre rinse with warm water after each use b Spray Griot s Garage Micro Fiber and Foam Pad Cleaner on the entire pad face c Gently knead the pad until you create a rich lather This cleaning action frees the pad of any compound or wax residue d Rinse thoroughly with warm water and wring out or machine wash e Allow pad to dry completely before use Store dry pad in the supplied BOSS packaging PROPER USAGE 7 Starting And Stopping The Power Tool Note Prior to application it is recommend that all plastic and metal trim on vehicle be
