MARCH 2014 BMW MOA Charter 147 CCBR Web Site www ccbr org BMW RA Charter 203 MARCH MEETING At Thomi s Cafe Sunday March 9 2014 at noon 627 South Hwy 49 Jackson CA 209 257 0800 For Details go to www ccbr org Many thanks to Ray Trujillo for organizing this meeting page number 1 The President Says By Bob Kuykendall TRI BMW Club GPS Workshop By now am sure that you have at least mentally laid out several of your 2014 rides perhaps using the time honored paper map or google maps or perhaps you have a GPS mounted on your steed To me GPS units are sort of like the remote control for the cable TV and DVR or other similar wonders That is there are more buttons options and a thick user manual that you have not read or do not want to read think this is true for a number of riders We give it a try a few times to lay out a route or download a route file with way points from a co riders email and it does not work and your computer cannot open the file and what you see is a litany of other screen displays Well the Tri Club GPS Workshop collectively sponsored by Central Cal BMW Norcal and River City Beemers is scheduled for April 12 It is intended to help you get past those issues so you can take the correct route using your GPS unit Take a look at the information posted on the CCBR website and sign up early or no later than April 1 2014 We have space for 35 folks Experienced Rider Course2. Is that Wacky taking a shower down there page number 11 Wacky seems to be wasting a lot of water I rushed down to where I thought I saw Wacky As I arrived I saw a flash of color and then just the water and rocks but no Wacky Wacky has evaded me again Then I started to have doubts about what I had seen Did I really see Wacky or am I wacky like the sailor that sees a mermaid Did I have a vision because that is what I wanted to perceive Even with my doubts I still think I saw Wacky in the water How could I have drawn this vibrant image of him if I didn t really see him A charcoal drawing of Wacky from memory and a magical colored one page number 12 Here is the secret of these drawings I draw the pictures from memory in charcoal Then I place the charcoal drawing in a high place such as on the roof of my house or up a telephone pole I then stand on my left big toe and wrap my right elbow around my left knee I then stick my small toe on my right foot in a glass of warm yogurt If I ama southpaw then I place my left hand in my right pocket otherwise I put it in my mouth I then hope that no one will come in and see me in this ridiculous position I have to hold this position until the drawing turns itself from a charcoal drawing into a gorgeous picture And you thought I was hoofing it After my diligent search and not catching wacky I was very dejected I looked down at my hands and what did discover DIRTY FINGERNAILS Di

12. rty soiled unclean sullied grubby filthy grimy and obnoxious fingernails I needed to get home so I could desoil and delouse them I would have drawn a picture but I dont want to show off my dirty thin horny covering that grows on the upper surface of the end of each finger What a sickening nauseating sordid revolting and repulsive displeasure this was I was having so much enjoyment I hated to leave just because I couldn t figure out how to unsoil my fingernails I studied a map to find the route home I decided to take Interstate 120 through Buck Mountains and Groveland I then took Interstate 49 to Interstate 140 Boy was that a mistake was not nearly suggestive enough to describe the 251 5 Degree temperature that I encountered I was so hot and yet I couldn t remove my gloves lest someone will see my dirty fingernails I went past Don Pedro Lake and didn t stop as I was very miserable due to the high temperature factor I arrived in Merced looking like a roasted swine How could I go from sheer joy to hot and miserable I guess that I m just lucky and I got to do it page number 13 PLAYLAND NOT AT THE BEACH By Rich Meissner After the February CCBR meeting in Berkeley stopped by Playland Not At The Beach just a few miles away in El Cerrito It is a museum with artifacts from Playland At The Beach San Francisco torn down in 1972 and other amusement parks of the same era The collection includes several classic pinball
