East Side Cemetery Interactive Map User Guide Welcome to the City of Dodgeville GIS Interactive Map Ifyou have any questions comments concerns or edits please email us at eastsidecemetery swwrpc org Page Layout When you first launch the interactive map you will see many different objects on the screen There is map space points with burial records a row of tools at the top left hand corner and a scrolling box on the right that changes based on the tool you select All of these aspects play different roles in showing you information you want to know Buttons for Use Default Extent gm this button you zoom to the original extent Legen Explains the various symbols in the map wyes bd Allows the user to click map layers off and on for different navigation Graves Civilians Veterans Veterans Owned Not Occupied Unowned Spaces Cemetery Sections Blocks Lots Basemap Gallery Allows the user to change the map from aerial imagery to additional maps Details Cemetery ownership and location information Allows users to search query for burial records by Last Name First Name There are two searchable layers 1 burial records of deceased individuals and 2 records of purchased plots Owned Not Occupied User Guide Current as of October 12 2015 N Identify Points The map allows you to click any of the points to identify burial information in the pop up window and view the headstone and obitu2. ary ifavailable You can click the obituary photo open another window to see a larger obituary image To view more information and the headstone or obituary photo you must use the scroll bar highlighted in red Headstone Burial Information ies The following information is presented if available and applicable for each burial First Name Last Name Maiden Name Date of Birth Date of Death Spouse Veteran or Civilian Military Branch War Served In Cemetery Section Cemetery Block Cemetery Lot Cemetery Space Cemetery Space Status Owned Occupied Purchased Available Cemetery Space Owner Headstone photo Obituary photo User Guide Current as of October 12 2015 7 Search Query Burial Graves Records Search In this interactive map certain layers are SELON linked to external databases and queries are a way of culling data from those databases Users can search for burial records graves or for purchased plots Owned Not Occupied by owner Searching for individuals can be accomplished by entering the last name first name into the search box Please make sure you have the Grave layer turned on check marked to allow the search feature to work Due to amount of burials with the same last name please enter both the last name and first name in this format last name first name Entering only the last name will not populate the full list because the list is limited to showing only six na

4. mes Purchased Plots Owned Not Occupied Search In addition users can search for purchased plots Owned Not Occupied by owner Users need to click the drop down arrow to change the search selection from graves to purchased Owned Not Occupied plots Searching for owners can be accomplished by entering the last name first name into the search box Please make sure you have the Owned Not Occupied layer turned on check marked to allow the search feature to work Printing Capabilities Printing a map can be accomplished by using your computers Print Screen button or the snipping tool on your home computer Make sure you have the online map in the right position on the page push your Print Screen to capture the image then paste the image into a Word document If you use the snipping tool click new select your area of interest then you can save the image to your desired file location or copy and paste into a Word document User Guide Current as of October 12 2015 A Preferred Browsers Mozilla Firefox Google Chrome Cemetery Sections Blocks Lots and Spaces The East Side Cemetery is divided into Sections Blocks Lots and Spaces There are 8 sections numbered 1 8 Each section has blocks numbered 1 2 3 and so on except for section 4 which is labeled A D This reference map is useful because each burial information pop up provides the section block lot and space Use the reference
