1. The filter module does not contain any anti freeze agent Therefore the ultrafiltration module may not be exposed to frost as this can lead to damage of the membrane 2 Storage as a spare part Originally packed SMP modules can be stored for up to two years under the following conditions 1 The original packaging must not be removed and must not be damaged so the modules are prevented from drying out 2 The modules may not be exposed to direct sunlight and must be stored in a cool dry place 3 The storage temperature must be between 2 and 20 C 35 68 F 4 The module is stored vertically with the connections upwards 3 Storage after operation A filter module which has already been rinsed and taken into operation can be safely stored for up to six months after a thorough flushing with pure water and adding a 1 sodium bisulfite solution to avoid biological growth and contamination For storage that is longer than six months the module must be washed out again cleaned in the case of strong contamination and rinsed and handled as described above In any case the ultrafiltration module must be rinsed out with an adequate quantity of pure water clean drinking water before renewed usage Make sure the modules are sealed using the original Seccua protective end caps and are prevented from drying out as well as stored in a cool and dry place Store the modules vertically with the opening facing upwards Doc Rev 19122011
