N uperVision PC Similar to dialing up to ISP Internet Service Provider for connecting to internet described in the previous section direct dial in access is another way to let users remotely connecting to DVR products which is equipped with a modem device The above figure depicts the framework of this feature Additionally the only slightly difference between these two methods is that direct dial in access uses DVR products to replace the function provided by ISP RAS Remote Access Server to perform the procedure of connection DVR site From the DVR site please follow the steps below to finish the setting 1 Login the setup page of the DVR system as an administrator and then setup the network functions you required on Network Setup page for example enable remote monitoring enable remote setup etc 2 Prepare a user account that has the permission of dial in access Or the default user admin has the permission already Later on from the remote site you need this account to login the DVR system once the dial in access is finished 3 Check the BIOS setting of motherboard to make sure that the setting of onboard Serial Port 1 Port A is enabled or Auto or 3F8 Connect the modem to the COM 1 interface of the DVR system 5 Prepare a regular telephone line PSTN and then correctly connect the modem to the telephone line 6 Remember to power on the modem an

Linux Embedded DVR 2 Select the IP CAM model This version supports Panasonic Axis and Vivotek IP cameras 4 Enter Username amp Password of IP cam that you set in the software provided by IP cam supplier and press OK Now you can see the IP cam in the camera list E mT 5 Follow the other configurations of Analog camera described in Chapter 5 1 1 to finish the 57 Linux Embedded IP cam configurations 6 Save the configuration and you can start to use the IP CAM Note Make sure your Network is working You can ping your DVR in another Window PC Make sure your IP cam connects to the network You can detect the IP cam via the software provided by IP CAM supplier to make sure it works or not Make sure the IP CAM model you select 1s correct 4 If DVR is in the LAN Local Area Network network the network mask of DVR and IP CAM must the same Please refer to the Chapter 5 8 Network Setting If DVR is in the WAN Wide Area Network and your IP CAM is behind the Firewall NAT Please assign a port to the IP CAM If you enable the Authentication function of IP CAM in the software provided by IP cam supplier please make sure you enter the right Username amp Password in the DVR setup 7 This version only supports MJPEG compression codec 8 This version doesn t support PTZ audio and resolution configuration on IP cam and will be supported in the later version When setting color par
