SS 5 5 7r Maia 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 Ka a dad alba a Choose a date Horm E p Time Time mintes ies eo Repeat every wees de Repeat option Optional Notification Upon Completion Subject Test publish Contents This message will be sent to your email address and your OU OF Campus message inbox You N otifi cation boxes should write something about what kind of update is being made Send to email W Schedule 4 f you d like you can schedule the page to publish at regular intervals To do this type a number into the Repeat box and then select a unit of time from the dropdown menu such as hours days or weeks 5 Youcan also tell OU Campus to send you a message when the page is published To do this simply fill out the Subject and Contents boxes OU Campus will send a message to your OU inbox as well as your Illinois State email address when the page is published Note Scheduling a page for publication will lock the page until after the publishing date If you want to make more edits to your page you must remove the scheduled publish Send a page for approval In some situations you may want to send a draft of a page to another person for comments and approval before publishing it You can use OU Campus s Send to user feature to do this 1 Click the Send to user button send to user You will then see the Message field below To dropdown menu 4 1 12

4. 3px solid black Alignment Not set Dimensions W Constrain proportions Lorem ipsum Si ama Vertical space pmi P Padding g consectetuer adipiscing ee loreum ipsum edipiscing elit Each of the numbers in these boxes represents a corresponding number of pixels If you re not used to thinking in terms of pixels it may take a bit of experimentation in order to get the image to look exactly how you want it to Skip to next section Add Edit tables Tables can be useful ways to organize information on your page OU Campus does allow you some limited control over how tables will appear on your pages Keep in mind however that your site designer may often have site wide design features that will override some table parameters no matter what you input If this is the case please contact your designer to discuss your intentions 1 Click where you want to insert the table 2 Click the Insert table button This will open the Insert Modify table window id gp 3 X mad 9 2 n Z Heading 1 Styles a mr l rm e Columns Input the number of columns you want your table to have e Rows Input the number of rows you want your table to have e Table Dimensions Set the size of your table You can specify size in pixels such as 300px or asa percentage of the page such as 100 e Cell Padding Change the amount of space between the contents of the cell and the cell wall e Cell Spacin

9. d List Turn highlighted text into a numbered list superscript text e Superscript Turn highlighted text into e o c o i 4 e o et I 0a gt D Q ct D x lt ct O uo c o o o F et ct m x a2 Paragraph Y Format Paragraph n e Format Change the highlighted text from a paragraph format to a heading format or vice versa Preformatted Heading 1 Heading 2 A few tips People do not read Web sites Instead they often scan the page for the information they want Because of this writing for Web sites is a little different than writing in other contexts Formatting e Use meaningful headers to label short chunks of information This is the best way to help people scan content e Use simple sentence structures e Present information in short chunks about 100 words long that have only one main point e Keepthe most important information at the top of the page e Don tuse a promotional writing style with subjective claims hottest ever Visitors don t want to spend time filtering out promotional language to get to facts e Avoid italic type when possible because it does not display well on computer monitors e Use bold text to emphasize something But use it rarely e Consider presenting minor points in a list format Lists draw in the scanning eye e Usenumbered lists when the order of entries is important and unnumbered lists when the s

12. ew 7 Click the Insert button Add images from your computer 1 Click the Upload button to add an image from your computer A list of folders and files from you computer will z a 2 Select the image you wish to upload and click Open A confirmation dialog box will appear when the image has been successfully uploaded OmniBrowser Ea File Browser Location top images Viewing Production ft up to parent directory E Chrysanthemum jpq a layout i Tulips ipa Tulips jpg was uploaded successfully to the Production Server _uploaa upload a eae Select a page or file from the list above then click the Select File button 3 Select the new image from the list of file names 4 Click the Insert button Edit Remove images Click on the image you want to modify or remove To remove the image use the Delete key on your keyboard To modify the image click the Image icon on the toolbar This will open the Insert Edit image window Click the Appearance tab to change the way the image appears on the page You can change four different aspects of the image from this window alignment dimensions border and padding e Image preview The image preview will give you a rough idea of how the changes you are making will effect your image e Alignment The alignment drop down menu allows you to change how text will wrap around your image In the first
13. g Change the amount of space between table cells This essentially makes the table walls thicker General Advanced Columns 3l properties Cols i Rows Cellpadding Cellspacing Cell Spacing Cell Padding Border Width Height Class Notset ie Table caption 3 Click Insert You can then type data directly into your table Edit a table 1 Select the table you want to edit 2 Click the Insert table button Be sure to select the whole table rather than a cell within the table In the latter case pressing the Insert table button will embed another table inside the cell you selected 3 Edit the table parameters as normal Delete a table 1 Right click the table you want to delete 2 Click Delete table O test test test test Inserts a new table Ef Table properties T Delete table Cell Column Turn special columns on and off In most Web site designs you can choose whether or not to display special columns or sections The specific options available to you will depend on the choices that the IWSS design team and your department make and the version of OU Campus that you are using There are multiple ways to turn these special sections on or off The following instructions are offered as the most direct method 1 Login to the page you want to edit 2 Click the Expand split screen button which is a small arrow in the upper left hand corner of the OU Campus window This will display add

15. her popular office programs As you become familiar with OU Campus you will notice that the changes you make in the WYSIWYG editor appear slightly different than they do once you save and publish the page You should always check the page after saving it to make sure that your changes are acceptable Text editing tools Paragraph M Text editing tools can be found along the top and middle of the WYSIWYG menu bar Most of the tools you will need are explained briefly below e Cut Cuts a highlighted portion of the document e Find Search for text on the current page e Copy Copies a highlighted portion of the Find Replace Search for text on the current document page and then replace that text with other text e Paste Paste the most recent portion that has been cut or copied e Undo Undo the last changes made in your e Redo Redo the changes that were just undone current session one by one and need to be restored e Spell Check Underline misspelled words OU ww Campus will suggest replacements Remove Formatting Remove all formatting amp and styling from highlighted text such as bold or italics e UJ o Q C 5 2 ga Ga J ct D Q ct D X et ct O o o Q et D x et e v O o Cc zm 2 2 ga 2 ca y et D Q et D x et zi ct O ED Q C o x Ems e Unordered List Turn highlighted text into a bulleted list e Ordere
