1. _ Raise the bed rails so patient is not pulled too far and overshoots the destination surface ____ Lower the destination surface one or two inches below the starting surface ___ Attach hose by pressing nozzle into spring valve such that it stays inserted ___Press green button to turn on air supply letting mattress inflate 5 7 seconds ___ Air Supply will shut off automatically if using the AirSlide air supply ___Disconnect air hose from mattress and let some air out to adjust patient comfort ___If using another brand air supply be careful not to over inflate mattress ___ Grab extension handles and gently and slowly slide patient to new surface ___ Moving feet first then head to new surface requires less force than moving all at once ___Raise side rails on stretcher to secure mattress in place for transport Cleaning and Storage ___ Same procedure as cleaning hospital mattresses and surfaces germicidal cleaner ____ Mattress and cover sheet can also be laundered see user manual for details ____ Keep all components in the storage bag so they are together when needed Safety ___Never leave a patient unattended ____ When using another brand air supply do not over inflate the mattress ____ Always lock the wheels on both bed and gurney prior to performing a transfer ___Keep side rails in the upright and locked position while transporting and waiting 27 Industrial Park Drive Unit 6 Concord NH 03301 8523 Ph 603 227 7287 Fax 603 227 7286 www mcau
