6. sit us online at www contech inc com Once you have decided on the area you want to protect complete the following steps to setup your SlugsAway Gasket ring Install the battery q 1 Snap the power pack stake on to the power pack gt 2 Insert a new 9 volt battery into the powerpack as shown on the inside of the battery compartment Use a brand name alkaline or good quality rechargeable battery 3 Screw the cap back on the powerpack making sure that the gasket ring is still in place and is clean Set Up cont d Test the battery 1 Locate the red test button on the side of the powerpack and the clear window on the cap test button 2 looking in the window press the test button and hold it down 3 If you see a green light your SlugsAway is working properly and you can continue to the next step Otherwise go to the Troubleshooting section in this guide window Position the power pack and fence pegs in your garden 1 Dig a narrow trench 2 inches 5 cm deep around the outside edge of the area you want to protect This is where you will place the SlugsAway slug and snail fence 2 Assemble the power pack by tirmly sliding the power pack stake sideways into the base of the power pack until it clicks 3 Push the power pack into the ground at one of the corners of your garden area This should be the corner that is easiest to reach so you will be able to easily check the power pack and ch
7. this guide Set up the slug trap The SlugsAway prevents slugs and snails from entering the area it encloses however when you first install your SlugsAway there may already be snails and slugs and their eggs in your garden Some ot them could be buried or too small to see To catch these snails and slugs within the protected area use the green slug trap included Line up the two slug rap pieces and snap them together to form a box 2 Pour beer or any other liquid slug bait into the side openings 3 Place the slug trap inside the area surrounded by the SlugsAway fence preferably in a shady location 4 Place something heavy on top of or inside the slug trap to prevent it blowing away Troubleshooting If you push the test button on the power pack and there is no light in the window or the light is not green use the following table to resolve your problem Light Problem Solution No light The battery was e Make sure the battery is installed correctly inserted incorrectly Remove the battery and insert it again or is not working e Try using another battery Red The battery is low e Replace the battery with a new one Yellow Bad conneciton e Check that the fence above the plastic strip is not touching the fence below the plastic strip e l the tence is very dirty clean it see the Maintenance section of this guide e Remove any plants that touch the tence above and below the plastic strip If yo
