Carlsson tfn 46 8 6863331 Letter of confirmation We have since 31 May 2002 had an installation with Lystech s rescue and emergency system in our escalator room at Hornstull metro station in Stockholm Sweden The cord is a test for us to find a system that is both economical and safe during a period of at least 20 years The chosen system is Light cord 3 2 mm 2000 9950532 BG 3 with power unit 12V DC input 110V AC 400Hz output The length of the cord is 60 metres The cord in the test facility has a different coupling to light it up than it would have in a fix installation In the test we have connected the cord to the normal light in the room when you turn off the light in the room the cord lights up and when you turn on the light in the room the cord light turns off By this we get a test not only of the cords durability but also the systems ability to turn on and off the system several times To this day the cord has been operational for over 40 000 hours There where no visible decrease in the cords illumination during the first 20 000 hours The last 10 000 hours there has been a decrease in the lights illumination Still it is equal or better than signs that glows in the dark In an installation for evacuation the cord will only light in case of a fire alarm or in a failure of an electrical circuit By this the cord has a theoretical life soan exceeding 4 000 years The cost for maintenance and re investments is very low only
