Section 2 System Description Ka e the power supply which converts the 24 vAC input to the 5 5 and 12 VDC required by the controller logic and communications circuits A power switch provides the means of energizing de energizing all controller electronics e the Micro processor executes the computer code and coordinates all controller functions including the controller real time clock e the PROM chip contains the controller operating system and basic tasks e the static RAM chips store the user entered operating parameters and also feature an internal back up battery to protect data during power failures e the super cap keeps the controller real time clock functioning during power failures e the on board modem this 1200 baud modem allows for remote program ming of the controller This is the standard communications interface for the Quanta 1000 controller e RS485 RS232 Port If you order the RSX option equipped Quanta 1000 this replaces the on board modem Figure 2 2b If configured for RS232 com munications it supports programming of the controller via a personal com puter equipped with ILC programming software If configured for RS485 communication this supports the networking of up to 128 controllers via a 2 wire communications bus See Section 5 for greater detail e DTMF Interface On RSX equipped controllers this device supports touch tone phone ON OFF control of either individual light

Screen ILC Quanta 1000 User s Manual 7 14 Section Global Module Programming Y jis Notes ILC Quanta 1000 User s Manual Section 8 DMX Operations ikas Section 8 DMX Operations ILC Quanta 1000 User s Manual Section 8 DMX Operations ikas ILC Quanta 1000 User s Manual Section 8 DMX Operations Kan 8 0 Section Overview This section of the manual details the Quanta 1000 con troller DMX option DMX features and programming operations covered are e Control concepts e Programming procedures 8 1 Control Concepts The DMX features support the control of undimmed loads via command signals USITT protocol from a DMX 512 control console The interface mechanism is a twisted pair link between the control console and the controllers RSX DMX interface See Figure 8 1 8 1 1 Addressing You can define from 1 to 64 consecutive controller switch inputs as DMX addresses The starting address being anywhere between 1 and 512 When the switch input receives a command from the DMX 512 console The relay outputs assigned to that input will react The maximum number of programmable relay outputs of a DMX equipped controller is 96 8 1 2 Command Signals Program the following parameters at the controller e ON When the DMX signal level rises to this level default 60 the relay outputs controlled by that address switch input turn on However they may react to signals received by other sources such as field switches e LO
