Water Filter When the INTENZA water filter needs to be replaced with a new one this icon is displayed E Replace the INTENZA water filter as described in the previous chap ter g FJ Press the button and scroll through the options by pressing the 5 button until this icon is displayed v gt EJ Select the RESET option Press the button to confirm Yellow EJ To exit press the dI button The machine shows this display and is ready to brew Green The machine is now programmed to manage a new INTENZA water filter heal Note If the INTENZA water filter is already installed and you want to remove but not replace it select the OFF option instead Yellow If there is no INTENZA water filter installed insert the small white filter previously removed into the water tank 22 ENGLISH ADJUSTMENTS The machine allows for certain adjustments so that you can brew the best tasting coffee possible Saeco Adapting System Coffee is a natural product and its characteristics may change according to its origin blend and roast The machine is equipped with a self adjusting system that allows the use of all types of coffee beans available on the market except for raw caramelized and flavoured coffee beans The machine automatically adjusts itself after brewing several cups of cof fee to

Water is sometimes drained auto matically by the machine into the drip tray to manage the rinsing of the circuits and ensure optimum machine performance The coffee grounds drawer has been emptied with the machine off The drip tray gets filled al though no water is drained The red ej icon is always displayed on the machine Coffee is not hot enough The cups are cold ENGLISH 65 Solutions Connect the machine to the electric network and turn the power button to the I position This is a normal behaviour of the machine The coffee grounds drawer must always be emptied with the machine on Wait until the icon is dis played before refitting the drawer Preheat the cups with hot water Temperature is not correctly set The machine circuit is clogged by limescale The hole of the steam hot water wand is clogged No hot water or steam is dispensed Coffee does not have enough The blend is unsuitable coffee is crema see note not freshly roasted or the grind is too coarse The machine takes a long time to warm up or the amount of water dispensed is too little The machine circuit is clogged by limescale The brew group cannot be removed The brew group is out of place Set the temperature as described in the Programming chapter Descale the machine Clean the hole of the steam wand using a pin Make sure that the machine is off and has cooled down before performing

21. emove the chrome cover with the rubber fitting from the steam wand Remove the rubber fitting from the chrome cover ENGLISH 43 GES Remove the suction tube EE Press the sides and disassemblel the Automatic Milk Frother as shown in the figure Remove the rubber lid as shown in the figure Wash all the components with lukewarm water Reassemble the lid making sure that you press it in the middle to have it correctly inserted 44 ENGLISH Reassemble the Automatic Milk Frother making sure it is correctly inserted Install the suction tube Insert the rubber fitting into the chrome cover Reinsert them back onto the steam wand Eg Caution The tube could be hot if the machine has recently been used Be care ful Do not insert the rubber fitting beyond the position shown In this case the Automatic Milk Frother would not work correctly as it would not be able to draw up milk ENGLISH 45 Insert the Automatic Milk Frother in the rubber fitting BE Make sure that it is positioned correctly If you cannot insert it rotate the chrome cover The Automatic Milk Frother is assembled correctly when the tooth fits into the slot 46 ENGLISH Monthly Lubrication of the Brew Grou Lubricate the brew group after approximately 500 cups of coffee or once a month The grease to lubricate the brew group can be purchased separately For further details please refer to the maintenance prod
