Confirm that the unit is still awake Power light is green after the 15 minute timeout has expired with no Ethernet connections plugged in Note The Always Awake mode is not a permanent setting and will not endure a power cycle or the unit being reset 5 6 Quality of Service The Mainline Premium Data Sockets have integrated Quality of Service functions QoS which measure the bandwidth requirements of each application and optimise the data flow ensuring that bandwidth intensive applications such as streaming High Definition HD video or music get priority The Mainline Premium Data Sockets will also give priority to Voice over IP and IPTV to get the best performance out of the network 6 Power Ethernet Monitoring Software PEMS PEMS has been developed by Power Ethernet as a useful tool that will allow you to e Check the number of Powerline Sockets and other HomePlug compatible devices that are visible on the Powerline network e Change the default Network Password to create a private Powerline network and prevent additional Powerline Sockets and 3 party devices from automatically joining the network e Assess the performance of each Powerline Socket e Generate traffic between Powerline Sockets Note Two or more Powerline Sockets must share the same Network Password in order to create a network PEMS also offers advanced network configuration which allows you to e Segment the network into different networks
