1. 8. ater flow by a rise drain hose into water Fig 7 VMH InverterFlex Mini Split INSTALLATION MANUAL Heat Controller Inc 2 When connecting extension drain hose insulate the connecting part of extension drain hose with a shield pipe do not let the drain hose slack Connective pipe installation 1 For the left hand and right hand piping remove the pipe cover from the side panel 2 For the rear right hand and rear left hand piping install the piping as shown in Fig 9 Bend the connective pipe to be laid at 4in 43mm height or less from the wall 3 Fix the end of the connective pipe Refer to Tightening Connection in REFRIGERANT PIPING CONNECTION 4 Piping and wrapping Bundle the tubing connecting cable and drain hose with tape securely evenly as shown in Fig 11 e Because the condensed water from rear of the indoor unit is gathered in ponding box and is piped out of room Do not put anything else in the box CAUTION e Connect the indoor unit first then the outdoor unit e Do not allow the piping to let out from the back of the indoor unit e Be careful not to let the drain hose slack e Heat insulate both of the auxiliary piping e Be sure that the drain hose is located at the low est side of the bundle Locating at the upper side can cause drain pan to overflow inside the unit e Never intercross nor intertwine the power wire with any other wiring e Run the drain hose sloped downward to
9. e and connect tightly and clamp the cable so that no external force will stress the terminal Loose wiring may cause overheating at the connection points and a possible fire hazard Wiring routing must be properly arranged so that control board cover is fixed properly If control board cover is not fixed perfectly it will cause overheating at connection point of terminal fire or electrical shock When charging the unit take care not to let air substances other than the specified refrigerant go into refrigeration cycle Otherwise it will cause lower capacity abnormal high pressure in the refrigeration cycle explosion and injury Do not modify the length of the power supply cord or use an extension cord and do not share the single outlet with other electrical appliances Otherwise it will cause fire or electrical shock A CAUTION This equipment must be grounded and installed with a ground leakage current breaker It may cause electrical shock if grounding work doesn t comply with local national electric codes Do not install the unit at place where leakage of flammable gas may occur If gas leaks and accumulates near the unit it may cause fire Carry out drainage piping as mentioned in installation instructions If not done correctly water may enter the room and damage personal belongings VMH InverterFlex Mini Split INSTALLATION MANUAL Heat Controller Inc 1 Wall mounted type More than Gin B

11. he wiring in the casing of electrical fittings are liable to come loose from vibrations to which the unit is subjected during the course of transportation Check them and make sure that they are all tightly fastened If they are loose it could cause burn out of the wires Specification of power source Confirm that electrical capacity is sufficient See that the starting voltage is maintained at more than 90 percent of the rated voltage marked on the name plate Confirm that the cable thickness is as specified in the power source specifica tion Always install an earth leakage circuit breaker in a wet or moist area The following would be caused by voltage drop Vibration of a magnetic switch which will damage the contact point fuse breaking disturbance of the normal function of the overload The means for disconnection from a power supply shall be incorporated in the fixed wiring and have an air gap contact separation of at least 3mm in each active phase conductors 12 VMH InverterFlex Mini Split INSTALLATION MANUAL Heat Controller Inc Electrical Work Wiring connection NOTE Before performing any electrical work turn off the main power to the system AA cautions e Do not touch the capacitor even if you have disconnected the power or electric shock hazard may occur For your safety you should wait at least 5 minutes after the power has been disconnected before repairing e The power is suppl

13. of the power cord and main circuit for the model to be installed e Incorrect installation due to ignoring the instruction will cause harm or damage H The seriousness is classified by the following indications WARNING This symbol indicates the possibility of death or serious injury A CAUTION This symbol indicates the possibility of injury or damage to property The items to be followed are classified by the symbols Le This symbol denotes item that is PROHIBITED from doing A WARNING Do not install without an authorized servicer installer Install according to this installation instruction If installation is defective it can cause water leakage or electrical shock fire Use the supplied accessories and specified parts for installation Install the indoor unit on a wall strong enough to hold the unit s weight Install the outdoor unit on a raised concrete pad or blocks to provide a solid level foundation In a location with high winds anchor the unit and provide an air baffle In snowy areas for heat pump models install the outdoor unit on a raised platform so that it is higher than drifting snow Provide snow vents For electrical work follow local and national electric codes and these installation instructions An independent circuit and single outlet must be used If electrical circuit capacity is not enough or defects are found in electrical work it will cause electrical shock or fire Use the specified cabl

19. w e Pressure in the system rises e Operating current rises e Cooling or heating efficiency drops e Moisture in the refrigerant circuit may freeze and block capillary tubing e Water may lead to corrosion of parts in the refrigeration system Therefore the indoor unit and tubing between the indoor and outdoor unit must be leak tested and evacuated to remove any noncondensables and moisture from the system Air purging with vacuum pump Preparation e Check that each tube both liquid and gas side tubes between the indoor and outdoor units have been properly connected and all wiring for the test run has been completed Remove the service valve caps from both the gas and the liquid side on the outdoor unit Note that both the liquid and the gas side service valves on the outdoor unit are kept closed at this stage e Unit charge is located on the rating plate e Unit is precharged to include enough refrigerant for 16 5 ft 5m of line set length per each indoor unit allowed Example A quad zone 36k outdoor unit will accept up to four indoor units at 16 5 ft 5m each for a total factory charge to handle 66 ft 20m of total line set length e Charge adjustment is not required for line set lengths less than 16 5 ft 5m e Add 2 oz ft of additional charge for line set lengths above 16 5 5m per indoor unit e The 12k and 18k indoor units include a line set adaptor for the outdoor section Capacity Pipe Size Standard Capacity Indoor Unit
