2. 306 130 A 306 504 A 306 504 A 306 677 A 306 677 F 133 732 F 133 632 Order No S RC 96 0572 u jng u 6iedwe jevy un jng uBbiedwed e2 y ui jjng uiedwe je2 y uljajjng uBbledwes jjeoey Mercedes Benz June 1996 Mercedes Benz Emission Recall 96 0572 of North America Inc Dear Mercedes Benz Owner Mercedes Benz of North America has determined that the Emission Control Information label affixed on certain 1996 model year SL500 SL600 S420 S500 S600 cars may contain an error Our records indicate that your car is included in this group WHAT S WRONG The Emission Control Information Label states an incorrect engine family and also the bar code on the label is wrong EFFECT ON EMISSIONS Since this is only a typographical error on the label affixed to the vehicle there is no adverse affect on fuel economy driveability or performance of the vehicle However without the correct label your vehicle may fail a vehicle inspection or Smog Check test when such tests are required by law CORRECTIVE ACTION A new label will be installed free of charge at your local authorized Mercedes Benz dealer The label is a controlled item Therefore to assure that the label is at the dealer when you arrive it is requested that you advise your dealer of this letter when scheduling your next appointment The removal of the incorrect label and affixing of the correct label should not require more than 0 5 hours to complete
