5. hting harness license plate light connector 233A Leave enough room to install a sealed splice connector Trim approximately 3 16 in 5 mm of insulation from each wire end See the service manual Use a sealed splice con nector Figure 7 item 7 to splice the red wire of the trunk light harness to the power harness 8 wire Use the remaining sealed splice connector 7 to splice the license plate harness black wire to the trunk light harness black wire Plug the license plate light connector 233B into the rear lighting harness connector 233A Install the 2 Amp fuse 6 into the inline fuse holder of the power harness 3 of 4 COMPLETION NOTE To prevent possible damage to the sound system verify that the ignition switch is OFF before installing the main fuse 1 See the service manual to install the main fuse Adjust Switch Position 2 Fully open the trunk door 3 Rotate the switch bracket toward the hinge until the switch clicks and the trunk light turns on 4 Hold the switch in position and tighten the hinge nut NOTE The trunk light shuts off automatically after 5 minutes with the trunk door open 5 Begin closing the door The trunk light turns OFF when the door is closed half way Close the door 6 Open the door The trunk light turns ON Secure Trunk Light Wire Harness 7 Where available secure the trunk light harness to factory mounted clips along with the rear lighting wire harness 8
