Service Call 24525IC Slow or no functions Tools Needed Hydraulic gauge 3 4 wrench 7 8 wrench Absorbent Rags Model Z45 251C TECH TI Tech Tips Safety Rules An Danger Failure to obey the instructions and safety rules in the appropnate Operators Manual and Service Manual for your machine will result in death or senous injury Many of the hazards identified in the operators manual are also safety hazards when maintenance and repair procedures are performed Do Not Perform Maintenance Unless gt You are trained and qualified to perform maintenance on this machine gt You read understand and obey o manufacturers instructions and safety rules o employer s safety rules and worksite regulations o applicable govemmental regulations gt You have the appropnate tools lifting equipment and a suitable workshop The information contained in thistech tip isa supplement to the service manual Consult the appropnate service manual of your machine for safety rulesand hazards Step 1 Locate the test port on the manifold Test 1 Step 2 Connect test gauge to test port Test1 Step 3 Start engine and read stand by pressure Pressure should be approximately 300psi Step 4 If standby pressure is approximately 3200PSI while idling and no functions are working note whether the steer wheels are x g oO K f a 1o o E E a i a a we turned full

3. y left or right Step 5 If the wheels are fully left or right check for stuck steer valve Step 6 Stop the engine by depressing the emergency stop switch or placing the key switch in the center position Remove the nut on the coils using 3 4 wrench TECH TIPS Step 7 Remove valve using 7 8 wrench and check for debris in the valve If no obvious issues are observed replace valve and reinstall torque to 25 ft lb Replace coils and connect wires Step 8 Start the engine If standby pressure is 300PSI and the unit exhibits no or slow functions deadhead boom retract and attempt to operate a function Step 9 If function works we need to look at the extend and retract valves for blown O rings Step 10 Stop the engine by depressing the emergency stop switch or placing the key switch in the center position Remove the coils using 3 4 wrench TECH TIPS Step 11 Remove valve using 7 8 wrench Step 12 Check valve for blown O ring picture shows o rings in place TECH TIPS Step 13 Picture showing missing O ring Step 14 Replace O rings or valve and reinstall torque to 20 ft lb Replace coils and install wires TECH TIPS Step 15 Start the engine and test functions If the issue is corrected functions will operate properly If further troubleshooting is required contact Genie Industries Service Department at 800 536 1800 or 425
