KENWOOD INSTALLATION MANUAL CAW KIMUN1 CANBUS interface with Steering Wheel Remote Control Vehicle Information Services Compatible with KENWOOD Multimedia units from 2012 with EXT IF connection DESCRIPTION CAW KIMUN1 is an interface designed for KENWOOD Multimedia only This device is able to recover the Steering Wheel Remote Control commands of the vehicle and to visualize integrated vehicle services such as Parking Sensors Climatronic and future services in the KENWOOD Multimedia system EN page 1 AD page 5 ES page 9 FR page 13 QB page 17 rev 2 0 INSTALLATION Before you start the installation please take care of the following Park the vehicle in a save spot applying parking brake and remove the ignition key Be sure not to damage any vehicle parts Disconnect the battery Revert to the service manual for further safety details This manual could be changed for better instruction and or changes in the installation instructions Be sure to have the latest version of this manual Please check www kenwood eu To connect the CAW KIMUN1 module use the Plug amp Play harness for the specific type of car and model After the complete installation the CAW KIMUN1 will auto detect the car s protocol This operation will be shown with fast red flashes of the LED on the CAW KIMUN1 Once the cars protocol is recognized the LED of the CAW KIMUN1 will turn into GREEN confirming2. H THE UNIT POWERED ON PRESS THE CAW KIMUN1 BUTTON UNTILL THE LED SWITCHES OFF WHEN THE LED SWITCHES OFF RELEASE THE BUTTON THE RESET IS DONE ATTENTION If the vehicle is equipped with a MFD display which is not showing the Body computer or b equipped with a MFD PLUS without Steering wheel controls it s necessary to de activate the MFD functions on the KIM interface To do so please follow below steps 1 Disconnect the KIM interface from the power then set DIP switch 3 to ON 2 Connect the KIM interface with power 3 The LED will flash 1x orange followed by red flashes 4 Press 6 times on the button in the KIM interface and verify the LED flashes 7x orange and 1x red 5 Push for long time the button in the KIM interface until the LED switches OFF 6 Now release the button and verify that the LED flashes 7x orange and 2x red 7 Once verified above point 6 disconnect the KIM interface from the power 8 Set DIP switch 3 to OFF and re connect the interface with power
