V Twin Mfg Daniel Boone Forward Control Kit W Master Cylinder amp SS Brake Line For use on 1979 1983 XL VT Part No 22 0391 This is a custom application and rider safety depends on proper installation This product should only be installed by a knowledgeable and trained motorcycle technician V Twin Mfg accepts no responsibility for improper installation Installation Instructions Shift Side 1 Remove stock foot rest 2 Take off stock shift arm and remove the stock shift peg 3 Take the shift arm and turn it around into an upright position 4 Using the plain nut as a locknut between the swivel ball joint and stock shift arm screw the swivel ball joint into the stock shift arm where the stock shift peg was 5 Lock up the linkage and adjust Brake Side 1979 1985 disc brake Russell 23 8070 brake line is supplied Use Loctite on all nuts and bots Additionally the motorcycle should be carefully test ridden at slow speed to make sure the brakes are operating correctly before regular road use 1 2 3 4 5 6 Remove existing brake assembly Mount the master cylinder to the forward brake assembly with spacers behind it Insert the mono brake plunger into the master cylinder with spacers behind it The plunger must be in line and not obstructed when fully compressed into the master cylinder Install the new brake assembly to the frame where the old assembly was removed Run the brake line directly from the mast2. er cylinder or sending unit T block to the rear caliper using VT No 23 4282 Bleed the master cylinder according to the service manual Copyright 10 2009 Revised Tedd Cycle Inc
