NOTE All other painted areas are covered by your vehicle s normal warranty of 3 years or 36 000 miles whichever occurs first This warranty extension does not cover the repair of body damage If the paint on your vehicle is peeling or flaking in one or more of the areas listed above take it to any Honda dealer for an inspection If the dealer confirms the paint problem and your vehicle is within the warranty time limit they will arrange to have ALL possibly affected areas on your vehicle repainted free of charge Please plan to leave your vehicle at the dealership for 3 to 5 business days to allow enough time for this repair What to do if you feel this notice is in error Our records show that you are the current owner or lessee of a 2003 05 Odyssey that is eligible for this warranty extension If this is not the case or the name address information is not correct please fill out and return the enclosed postage paid Information Change Card We will then update our records If you previously paid to have the exterior horizontal surfaces of your vehicle repainted due to peeling you may be eligible for reimbursement Refer to the attached Instructions for Reimbursement for eligibility requirements and the reimbursement procedure If you have questions If you have questions about this notice or need help contacting a Honda dealer please call Honda Automobile Customer Service at 800 999 1009 Sincerely American2. e Refer to page 1 9 of the 2005 Odyssey Model Series Body Repair Manual or e Online do this Select SEARCH BY PUBLICATION Select Body Repair Manuals Select Odyssey Select Odyssey 2005 2008 Body Repair Manual Select General Information Select page 1 9 Remove the windshield washer nozzles from the hood Backtape or remove the top molding on each sliding door to expose the area to paint underneath Mask off the interior and any unaffected exterior areas as needed Using 400 or 500 grit sandpaper sand all the areas to be repainted Where body color is present sand down to the ED primer If the ED primer is exposed sand down to bare metal Repaint the sanded areas using best shop practices Make sure all repainted areas are properly blended into the unaffected areas After the paint has cured reinstall all removed parts Replace any damaged trim clips NOTE Before you install the windshield side trim on the A pillars any broken trim retainers there are four retainers on each side must be replaced Do the following steps to replace the trim retainers Do not use the retainer replacement steps in the service manual e Peel off and discard the factory adhesive from the back of each new trim retainer e Wipe the back of each trim retainer with 3M Automotive Adhesion Promoter 3M P N 06396 Allow the promoter to flash for several minutes Apply an 80 mm piece of 3M Automotive Acrylic Plu
